Surely tyres should be warm for qualifying. Makes it impossible to set a good lap if the weather changes halfway through a 10 minute qual session because it takes 5 mins for tires to warm up. Ridiculous

What series are your qualifying in? Project Cars tries to match the series with realistic rules. So for example a Clio Cup race won't have tyre warmers but Formula A will have.

I hope that helps

for me it usually only takes a lap to warm up the tires but it makes sense in some series and not others

The first Lap does not count any way.
I like this part and you only have to drive the first Lap to warm them up.

I like it too.

I don't know if it's that pronounced in real life or not, but I like it.

First lap to warm them! Only just warm, not upto pressure, qualifying is not hot lapping! A five minute dash for the qualifying is fine as it keeps players on thier toes.

Sometimes it takes more than one lap to warm up the tires (depending on track, conditions, car, setup,...).

I don't always think about that the tires aren't warmed up already when I leave the pit. Sometimes the first corner tells me that ;)

For example:
Driving the Capri - the rules forbid prewarmed tires here?
Must have been kamikaze in reality... :disillusionment:
