The AI don't seem to be turning on their headlights in the rain or fog.

it is known. It was made that way to save FPS on PS4&Xbox1

I know it was possible on PC to modify a file and get AIs light ON, but I don't know if it's still working...

That is correct. I've given a reason here (http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?22313-AI-Improvements-(lights-at-raining-races)&p=886416&viewfull=1#post886416).

Can we at least have the option to flick the driving line on the fly then so we can see where we are going?

I don't think it was made to save fps because when you drive at night with rain or fog there is light on.
I think it's not about the weather but the time of day ;( Please make a patch ...
Sorry for my english ...

Im afraid all good stuff is saved for Pcars 2. But then again, for the PC it will be a console port.

Like I said before, give us the option to turn on that feature! I'm sure that AI headlights on the daytime is less fps consuming than the AI reflection(which we already have)!!

Not so. The lighting system is simply far more intensive during the day with its dynamic shadows and whatsitmabobs that make the game so pretty. That's why they can do it at night.

I've brought this up already several times, I'm sure it's been/being looked into. At the very least it should be enabled for open-wheel cars which don't even *have* headlights.

so, if the game can render daytime lights, why wouldn't it be able to render the full headlights/brights?

I too, hope for a setting to turn this on if/when we feel our PC can handle it. Night time light drawing distance would be nice to be able to change for PC too.

Thanks
