Hello,

I have a question regarding the different colours of the tyre symbol:
What is the meaning of the blue/green/red colours?
It is quite confusing for me at the moment... :)

its the temperature of the tyres, i think green is the ideal but its odd sometimes i start races with green tyres but they feel like blue tyres until a lap in and then they feel like green tyres but the colour do not change at all

Thank you for the quick reply. Just to clarify: blue Is cold and green is good temperature?

no problem and i think so, i am not sure if red is good because i have had tyres go red but i think that might be bad for tyre wear, i almost 100% sure that green is the ideal colour for the tyres though

That's what I also thought. But sometimes I have blue tyres after a couple of laps with the Caterham for example, and didn't even change the setup... Was kind of strange to me :)

Yes. Green is good. Be aware that the little tyre symbols on the HUD works for temperature ranges so your "blue" tyre might be 1C colder then optimum range. But it doesn't mean it won't stick to the track:)

That could clarify things already. Thanks for your answers!

that is strange i think on some circuits or with some cars it is more difficult to warm up the tyres, i sometimes am driving a car with blue tyres(at the start of a race for example) and then half a lap into the race they are still the same shade of blue but they feel better so i am not sure how reliable the colour thing is always however it will mostly give you a good idea of where your tyres are

EDIT: thank you for the reply flymar it helped me understand some of the content in this post that confused me a bit

also no problem Acksios

I've been using an android app called Dash Meter Pro AC/pCars. One of the displays shows the tire temps and wear. When I was paying attention during the historic invatationals in the Ford Escort 1600, I noticed that the temps at the start if practice were 79 DEG F. The pCars icon would turn from blue to green AT 140 DEG F. This was true form qualifying too. At the start of a race however, they were 199 deg F. They went down to about 165 after a lap or two and stayed there. I gather that they start you with hot tires so no warm up is needed for the race. It could have just been that series though. I'll be on the gt5 season tonight and see if it's the same.

Race is started wit pre-heated tyres.

The colors are just a rough guide to the tire temps, if you want to see the actual temps you have to go into the telemetry screen.
And yes red means your tires are overheated.

People have already covered the answer but I'd like to go a little further with a break down of the HUD

I've an answer (http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?22311-HUD-Answered-Alittle-Noob-help) in here.

Hope this helps.
