possibility of benchmark tool?

Is there any possibility of a benchmark tool?
For those of us that love to tweak our pc systems and muck about with 3d settings vard profiles etc it is such a handy thing.
I remember far cry had a great one
Always a nice showcase for a game too.....

I tweaked my graphics settings via starting a free run with the same car on the same track and just look at the fps right at the start, adjust, quit&repeat.
Its boring but now its "optimized" for best graphics:fps, should work more or less the same with different scenarios. But yeah, a bench tool would be nice!
