I've had several races a few poles but in every race I'm left standing usually dropping 3-4 places.
My car just seems to bog down, I'm not using any Aids apart from auto clutch, some of the server weren't allowing them to be used but the result is the same.

Using a wheel and pedals what is the best technique?

What I do IF I want a quick getaway: autoclutch, 1st gear selected, revs up, slide foot sideways off clutch pedal, GO like a scalded cat!

note - I mostly drive lower powered cars like formula rookie etc. Could be the wrong way to go with high hp monsters.

I have 1st gear selected - mid revs while foot firm on the brake. I try and anticipate the green and lift off the brake. Works ok more often than not!

I would say that technique makes the starts a bit boring if you sit up in front of the grid, as you pass everyone before turn 1. I agree with the OP that if you select first after the green light, there seems to be a slight delay causing you to lose a coupe of places each time. Normally first and giving gas should give immediate throttle response.

Yes it is. It's nice for you and for other players near to you if you aren't using a joypad or something else similar to :P

I find I get the fastest starts by turning off auto-clutch. (I am using wheel and pedals though).

Auto-clutch seems to slip forever before actually getting fully engaged.
