There are a number of great apps out there for the PC guys, any ideas if there will be any support added for PS4? I contacted the dev for DashmeterPro and he said he would not being adding support for PS4.

Basics I'm interested in (as a start):

What tyre is fitted
What is the state of tyre wear
positions of each player in the race (online humans)

to name a few...

I've seen mention of adding tyre wear to the HUD in game, that would be be a start ;)

There will be no apps for PS4 (or XB1 for that matter) until Sony allow such things unfortunately.

Suggestions for more HUD info will of course be taken on board and considered.

There are other games that have an app for smartphone. (Assassin's Creed. Watch Dogs, Driveclub in progress, ...) I will ask on the official Sony Forum if it's possible.

Okay seems they do allow it, but at what cost I wonder?

DriveClub is 'Sony' and I suspect Ubisoft will have had to pay a hefty sum for the privalige.

Yeah, I forgot that DC is Sony. But it is possible to make apps that works with PS4. The Assassins Creed Black flag app is installed on my iPhone and works great.
But Bandai/Namco is a big player in the gaming industry so I think they could get it done to get the rights for making an app that works with PS4. Even if it costs some money, it would be a great addition for us console players who drive with a wheel.
I don't know to whom i can say that he/she should contact Sony and see what's possible.

There's a phone-holder attachment for the DS4 to use for second screen game applications. i don't know how closely that relates to the issue, but id love it if i could throw the motec on my phone on my controller. the psn app links phones to the ps4. i haven't used it tho so i don't know how useful it is, or in what capacity it functions.

That only works with the Sony Xperia phones.
Or you have to root your phone and tinker with it .
And if I'm correct it's only screen mirroring.
Would be a nice if they could get it working though.

ahh thats a bummer. they (sony) could let it work for other things but i doubt thats part of their plan. ):

It's a money thing.
Same with the bluetooth headsets, they just need to add a bt profile and you're good to go. If my phone can do it so should a piece of hardware like a ps4.

I think that is totally possible.

Because Fallout 4 will have a second screen (PipBoy application) who works on Android system for PS4, One and PC.
