I've posted on the TGC thread on WMD for answer. I'm sure some of them have raced the RuF during the game's development so might be able to help out as to whether the final drive has always been locked.

Hope that helps

Which one of the RUFs are you talking about? :)

GT3 version. The road version is locked which is to be expected but the GT3, should have the final drive editable. All the other GT3s allow it.

Those are not the only two RUFs ingame though ;)

You can't change the final drive, but you can change gear by gear, by one click. For e.g. the Z4 GT3 it's the other way around, no sense to change the single gears but final is unlocked.

A lot of GT3 cars have final drive locked IRL as far as I know.

Because it's not a bug but working as intended. :)

Yeah, it's just part of the "homologation package". The SLS is also stuck with one final drive, and you can't even changed the other gear ratios unlike you can with the Ruf (well, at least selecting between a long and short 6th gear). When the 12C GT3 was originally introduced it also had only one allowable gear ratio package for FIA sanctioned racing, and only an alternative extended 6th for races like VLN and 24H of Nürburgring. GT3 cars tend to have very limited gearing options in real life, and many teams don't change them at all.

GTE on the other hand allows for a lot of freedom when it comes to gearing.
