Im blowing my engine 34-38 laps into a 42 lap race. I get a mechanical fault then very soon the engine blows up before i can get into the pit box, is there a way i can monitor my damage/wear i am putting on my engine as im racing so i can see where im putting too much strain on the car so i can finish endurance races?

On the Motec in car you have to watch your Oil Temp and Water Temp. It should never go above 100 degrees.

Open your radiator also to counteract this.

Be careful of downshifting too early also, I've blown the Trans-Am Mustang's engine a couple of times through over revving.

Are you driving in manual or auto?

How you meant to open radiator, its not binded to controller ? if you say well bind it then, i have no free buttons left, and how we meant to bind the other 150 options to the xbox controller ?

Hef, the Motec is the digital readout on the car's real dashboard? Been trying to figure out what that was in the settings.

Yes in car's dashboard. Obviously not all cars have them but most newer race cars do. Older cars will even gauges for the temps.

There is a button you can map to switch the pages of the Motec (I have mine on Y for the wheel). There are 4 pages. Timing, Engine Temps, Brake/Tire Temps and Fuel Usage.

Opening your radiator is in the tuning Menu under engine.

Im running the mclaren 12c gt3 around watkins glen on a clear day with Radiator 100% open and shifting early and down shifting as gently as possible, basically not pushing the car to the limits and my water and oil temps are hitting 120deg. Cant get it anywhere near below 100deg

My Impreza Type R would regularly hit 120 on the old Defi water temp gauge after a good pasting, never did it any harm ;)
