View Full Version : Slick tyres
Be able to choose non slick tyres would be great.
Control will be more difficult and you could drift.

Can you explain more as your post is very vague.
My guess is that PC only uses slick or semi-slick tyres for cars.

That's wrong. Road cars do have regular road tires and most of them also have alternative track day tires.

Maybe he wants to choose non slick tyres for example a formula 1 car, that isnt possible right? I am not sure atm.

That's not possible, correct. But he wasn't talking about specific cars as far as I understood.
road cars dont even have slicks available, even the track (best performance) tires are modeled on street legal tires from what i gather.

Yeah he did not talk about specific cars, I just tried to interpret his post because non slick tyres for road cars are available :D Lets wait for his answer, maybe he can specify his post :P
Yep, i was talking about non slick tyres for GT, tourism, road...Not formula.
I don't think you really can drive a formula without slicks.
They seems to use slicks because they can't drift and tyres make almost no noise.(for the clio cup)
clio cup isnt a road car, so it probably doesnt have non slick tires but im not sure.
road cars dont even have slick tires afaik. just 3 grades of street tires.

The clio cup is the name of a french competition with clio. The cars use slick tyres.
I have the rules of the competition and it's specified for qualification and race.
Of course you can use a clio cup without slick.
Road cars in the game? So you can drift with them and tyres make noise?
i assume you can drift, idk tbh, you can certainly drive sideways, thats as far as i go.
and my point about hte clio was its not a clio, its a clio cup. its a race car, not the road car. theyre different.
It's based on the road car with a few improvments.
...yes, to spec it out as a race car, for race purposes. thats why it has slick tires.
To spec it out for a specific race.
For example there are protections on the engine and only Renault's engineer have access and control of the engine.

Not my video, but just figured I would post it since it seems relevant.

Thanks it is.
Tyres should make noise, only slicks don't make noise.(a lot)

Replays won't have the data for the noise.

Yes. There are certain effects which are triggered by detail levels of the telemetry. Only certain aspects of the telemetry data are exported for replays (this is also why tire deformation and some spoiler/wing animations are not in the replays but can be seen live and some of the turbo sounds also aren't present in replays due to the same current limitation).
Ok, thanks. I will try ingame.
As Manjik said, tire squeal is not implemented in replays.

I love the tyre squeeel. It lets the tuner know whats happening down there. The games based on realism, the cars suspension was designed to work with certain tyres. A drift pack dlc may be done, if you open that door then why not rally cars, rally cross, gymcarner, etc. Too bigger bite? I suggested CanAm and some hill climb courses. But tyre choice is what it is, this aint Forza lol.
