...well done Sir/Madam. For your undying loyalty and (let's be honest) curiosity, you have earned yourself a small reward...

You may have noticed that round 3 of the SMS-R Driver Network Championship is available today? For this you shall require...

In all seriousness. I posted this in the Xbox section 1. To spread a little love and happiness. 2. There isn't enough fidelity in tuning the gears to make it relevant on PC. So, the car isn't perfect (when are they ever?!), but it's pretty good and a lot of fun. I'd be interested to hear your feedback. Also, be sure to let me know what lap times you can get out of it, along with any changes that increase your speed.

Good luck and (hopefully) enjoy!

Just hit a 02:03.605 using the exact tune given above (tyre pressures knocked down 10 bar per corner...forgot they started piping hot?!). Currently sitting in 32nd place, but a 2:02.xxx is def possible - even in my hands!

Thanks for that. Will try this ASAP. I love the game. Yesterday I fired up Forza 5. Wow now I know I love Pcars. With Forza 5 it feels and looks like the cars floating on an air coshion instead of driving on tarmac.

This tune is shredding tires for me.. Anyone else? I cannot make three steady 2:02.00's without the tires going red. I made some adjustments and can break into the 2:01's if anyone is interested.

Are you reducing given pressures by .10bar? 186 | 186 / 190 | 190. Front left may go red briefly but comes back to green after a corner or two.

I think you meant to say; .1 bar? If so, I have not tried that.. I bet it solves the problem, though. Thank you for bringing that to my attention! I think OP added that part after I read it this morning.

I've spent about 2 hours on my own tune for the community challenge and I'm working my way ( hopefully ) to get under 2 minutes. I still have some things to iron out, but my tune is showing potential.

I am the OP lol...and I 'do mean .10 (ten) bar (:rolleyes:He was right...I've edited this). The numbers I posted originally are for qualifying, and do exactly as they are supposed to...3 quick laps then nothing. -.10 bar is equivelant to just over 1psi, which gives you a hot front left for a few corners if you push a little too hard. All green if you don't power slide. That said...I would love to know the tweaks you made to hit a 02:01.xxx?
If I took my best sectors today I'd be close to a low 2:02 or a high 2:01 with the setup as posted, but I'm too tired today to hook it all up. I'm a low 2:03 at the moment, but there's way more time out there. Was 0.9 up on that time and overshot the last fast corner. There's a line (starting left of the actual racing line) you can take through there, where you hardly need to brake. Tricky little so and so to get just right though.

There isn't enough fidelity in tuning the gears

Just adding that gears on that car are the real ones? IRL the 6th is nigh unusable except on long (very long) straights.

So much torque need tall gears.

GT3 cars (and others on pCARS) do have the real homologated/allowed ratios.

Big torque takes big advantage of tall gears.

Ok, I'm confused.. Your logic seems crisp, but 10 bar is around 145 psi. I'm sure I am just misunderstanding what you are saying.

Oh, I can talk race tracks all day long, man! Yeah, Silverstone is one of those tracks that really hurts you or really rewards you. Turn one is a major deciding factor on your time as it can be taken really really fast if you are on point. However, take it easy and those fast cars are goooone.

I will gladly post my tune sometime tonight or early in the AM.

Really? You should be shouting facts like this from the rooftops! People might then realise the effort, and level of detail that's in the game!

I was under the impression the PC version had single digit variables where tuning was concerned, but I happily stand corrected. Good to know we're all on a level playing field...well, will be!

Sixth wasn't actually the main problem. I was searching for a gear somewhere between first and second for 'The Loop'. Couldn't make it work at all, and if you get it wrong, then you lose so much time down the straight. Found a wider line that gives good acceleration out in 2nd gear...very rarely hit it though :(

Lol...There I was, off searching for my conversion chart. Muttering under my breath that 'this guy's a madman'. Loaded it up, and it dawned on me...yes Sir you are correct...0.10 bar. :o

In fairness, I did say I was tired earlier?! smh

If you'll excuse me, I have some editing to do....
