I like to think I can be a "clean racer".
I try my best whilst playing against the AI, but sometimes, okay, a lot of the time, it can get real messy. It makes me dread the day I venture online to race, I don't want to get labeled as reckless.

I'm using a wheel, so I don't have the look left/right functions mapped due to the lack of buttons. I miss that from racing with a pad in the past, and think it probably is that which is causing so many touches with other cars.

What makes a "clean racer"? What tips can you give to those wanting to be a better driver on the track?

I like to think of myself as a clean racer,
yes I have the occasional bump, but I never intentionally ram people to gain position, or cut the track on purpose

1. Don't try to win the race in the first corner.
2. Don't constantly divebomb to overtake
3. Mistakes happen, a quick "Sorry" typed in the chat (or over mic) goes a long way.
4. Turn on the virtual mirror to have a better situational awareness.
5. You don't have to always finish first to have fun.

To be a clean racer:
Don't collide with other cars.
Don't go off track (unless pulling over to stop due to mechanical problems).
Don't block (don't make more than 1 move to defend position).
Don't stop on course (if you must stop, move off the racing line and/or off the track).
Don't drive the opposite direction of the course against traffic.
Leave racing room for cars that are beside you.
Allow cars lapping you to pass.

Don't race because all what you said happen even if you try to avoid it.

I always abide by following codex there is everything you need to know about clear driving... but I can't find english version of this document. Try to use google translate maybe will be readable. http://pierre-sr.wz.cz/files/driver_kodex.pdf

EDIT: just for information it's in Czech language... and author of this document was informed about publication on this forum.

- Only go for the overtake when you are 100% sure
- When used your opponent as a brake, let them pass again
- Always wait for a mistake, before risking everything
- Be patient and dont rear-end slower people

#5 is actually the key to being a clean racer. As it will stop you being reckless. When you realize that coming in 10th or 1st makes no difference to the Fun & experience, you will find that your aggression, your recklessness can be used at appropriate times and will be far more useful to you.

IMO, obviously.
