Email from logitech support:

My name is Kenneth V., I understand that you would like assistance with your G27 Racing Wheel.

As for the moment, we currently don't have a definite timeframe on when our racing wheel will be supported on PS4. But yes, we are already on the process of incorporating our gaming wheel to PS4. But mainly we will be focusing on the G27 only and later model.

For future reference your case reference number is 00705258. This will allow us to quickly find the contact history when you need additional help. If we do not receive a reply, your support request will eventually be closed and set to "solved". A survey will be sent to you to gather your feedback.

To contact us by phone or obtain additional information (FAQ's, Forum, Manuals, etc.) please visit support.logitech.com

Best regards,
Kenneth V.

The statistical chances of it being true are high as I bought a t300 wheel this week due to giving up hope on logitech pulling their fingers out of their arses and sorting the g27/ps4 compatibility issue. In my life i am usually caught out in waiting til the last second before i jump, only to find if i had waited a bit longer i wouldnt have actually had to jump. Still, fingers crossed eh :-)

Personally though, i expect logitech to do their new not so secret wheel and make that ps4 friendly, while citing numerous reasons why the g27 wont be catered for. After all, a free compatibility fix or sell you a new wheel, which do you think the bean counters wold be suggesting at logitech?

I don't even have a G27, and I'd still Like it five times if I were able...

This support makes sence, if its true that G27 and G29 share the same base, so the PS4 drivers used would be the same for both.

Good news! but... G25 & Driving Force GT owners will still have a paperweight. Don't know why G27 drivers will not work propertly with G25 & DFGT.

great news, hopefully soon. If my G27 & Playseat could be used with Project Cars and the PS4 I probably won't use them for GT6 on the PS3 anymore but as it stands, everyday I need some wheel driving fix so still need fire up the PS3.

That post was debunked as nonsense a while ago. There are old Thrustmaster wheels that came out before the PS4 and they are compatible. I don't doubt there are features in the PS4 that relate to security chips but for what reason should a T100 or T80 work without a chip but for the G27 it's *impossible* to add compatibility? Please.

If this is true the g25 should work also as I believe they use the same drivers as the G27. Which would be good news as I still have my g25. As I now refuse to pay the prices being charged for the T300 /500 series.

If the G29 is the same base/motor without a shifter for an extra $100 over the old G27 (new), I'll go with the older model.

The patch has been tested and is just waiting for Sony to approve.

So what about this then?

So Bealdor, you mean it's still under NDA and the Patch notes are not completed yet?

Correct.

So perhaps SMS is nearly done with G27 testing, and the E3 will hit next week, it could be that the PS4 support is in Patch 1.4 as above info.

NDA = Non Disclosure Agreement, in other words: Be silent or else!

Confirmed G29

Now we have to wait what they say about the G27 on the PS4, the G29 has the same Force Feedback motor as the G27 so!

Logitech has confirmed the existence of the G29 steering wheel,....and it's also revealed the G920, the Xbox One equivalent that's launching in October this year.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-06-11-logitech-confirms-a-new-wheel-for-ps4-and-reveals-a-new-xbox-one-contender-too

"The G29 starts shipping in July. Both units will cost 299.99 "

Does this mean that my old g27 wheel from 2010 will work with the PS4 now, or is it just the new g27s that will be supported?

This hasn't been confirmed (yet). Thing is, they bring a new steering wheel on the market, they want to make money from it. So if they support the G27 for the PS4, they won't sell much G29's as they would like to.
But they say the drivers from the G27 are able to be brought to developers (like SMS), so it's up to them (SMS etc) if they want to put it in a game or not.

For now, the Logitech G29 will be supported by Project Cars, check the Home screen and Beyond Reality page.

:excitement::excitement:Waiting on a full review of this wheel. If it's as durable as my G25 then I'm sold. I have a day one G25 setup with a playseat. Never had an issue. I used to be a loyal Logitech fan boy. In fact I have every Logitech gadget I ever brought still in perfect working condition. Even after years of use. Lol.

Time to put the popcorn in the microwave, sit back and wait for the show. Go Logitech Go!

i think they would sell plenty... many people will want the share button feature and bits... i'm new to "sim racing" and have a g27 sitting in it's box purposefully for this game (bought it before knowing about compatibility and was reasonably priced) but that's not to say i wouldn't buy a g29 over the next year .. in order to get the FULL PS4 compatibility...

that's the thing... drawing conclusions is not a definitive answer! Gordon Bennett... how difficult is it to get a definitely no... or definitely yes? my conclusion could be that YES it is supported seeing as the two units are very similar and drivers have been know to be released to these manufacturers by Sony... at the same time the answer can be NO because logitech want to shift new units...

...if it's the latter... then it could all blow up in their face...

With huge deadzone, no FFB, and having to buy a wired joypad to get it to work? Reviews of this device are terrible.

Has that become compatible? Thought it didnt work with ps4

Edit:- thirty seconds on google is enough to say avoid, looks like it needs the weird adapter box thing that keeps cropping up in posts so never going to be what you actually want.

Huh I wonder how well the FFB works. Someone buy it and try it haha.. - and If I hook up my DFGT how will the game handle it?

It doesn't, it tricks the system into seeing the wheel as a controller, so when you turn the wheel you're actually just moving the thumbstick. It has horrable deadzone, and no force feedback due to the above reason.

Ah I see. So it is good for the guys with fancy fighting game sticks - as they reported no lag with the Brook Super, but no good really for a FFB wheel.

Edit - Strange the video shows some feedback with the girl driving but I cant tell if that is only vibration type (like when she hits the wall). Pretty cool the LED lights are working - looks like bad deadzone but it is hard to tell with chase car camera.

Its only the vibration, the same signal the controller receives for its vibration not the actual force that pulls the wheel again due to the box making the system see a controller and not a wheel

Don't waste your time on any sort of adapter or converter. I tried the M4 for my dfgt on PS4 only to find I would have needed to buy another WIRED ds4 controller for it to work and once you add the price of the converter plus the price of a controller you would have been better off just buying a T80 or T100 to start with and avoid the hassle. Let alone the fact the converters have a huge dead zone and no real force feed back, if your lucky it may vibrate.... Yay!
