View Full Version : Is there a way to increase the engine noise for other cars?

I'd like to thank the Devs for creating a great game and their continued hard work with the upcoming Patch (1.4) and beyond. Looking at the list I was surprised to see no improvements to audio. Now, I am guilty of not looking in my mirrors often enough, but I am noticing that there's very little audible warning of a vehicle approaching from behind. I have a nice surround-sound system, but the game's audio only seems to play through the centre speaker. Has there been some horrendous oversight and the game's audio is in mono? If not, is there a way to increase the volume of the other vehicle engines? I've tried turning down the volume of my engine (a crying shame, as the devs have done a sterling job with the gorgeous engine sounds as well all the various sound effects), expecting to be able to hear the other cars more clearly, but no joy. In a future patch, I'd love to see more sliders in the audio options menu.

I believe this is part of the issue with the surround sound, too. Even if you don't use multi-chan in your setup, what the 5.1 lacks would also fix your problem. There is no 3D presence to most sounds in pCARS, especially opponent cars.

If you are running the same car as everyone else, good luck telling by sound when to shift...
