i just recently installed my 3rd monitor to play this game with nvidia surround. my problem is my field of view slider doesnt go below 80. i cant play the cockpit view as if im on top of the steering wheel. i can not get the same view point with one monitor as i can with 3 monitors. why is that?

Sounds like you are using the restricted helmet view... try cockpit view instead :)

i am using cockpit view. the view where i can see the steering wheel and my hands along with the side mirrors. my resolution is 5760x1080 in game is the same but im right on top of everything. not sure how to readjust it because it wont go below 80

Oh OK... no problem, can't see why you can't change it.... try pressing '[' to decrease or ']' to increase. each press is 1 degree.

for the distance he is from the screen that FOV is awful

My view is worst than his. His I like mine it's like my nose it up against the steering wheel. No joke

Have you used the calculator to work out your FOV, as with my 3 monitor setup my perfect field of view is 119. the lower the number the closer you are to the steering wheel basicly. mine wont let me go any lower than 92, because any less than that and won't see any of the car.

use this LINK (http://www.projectimmersion.com/fov/) to work out yours.

I am a similar distance to the guy in the video and 110 is working great for me!

Thanks for everyone that replied.
Currently I'm in front of my PC, when I get home I'll give it a try.

In case it wasn't clear, if you want a FOV like in the video, you need to go HIGHER than 80, not lower. Like others have suggested, something around 120ish would probably be accurate. If you are looking for the same FOV as the video, you would want to go even higher, something like 150ish would be my guess. This would give you a sensation of going faster, but things get distorted and don't look like they would in real life.

Like others have said, if you can figure out the right FOV (probably around 120ish) things will appear the size as they would in real life, which should in theory make it easier for you to drive around the track.

I have triple screens as well and 120 FOV seems to give me the best results.

Got it to work! My FoV was way off. Also, are you guys using 120 on all the options?
Question:
What are you guys doing when you play another game in which you don't want to use all 3 monitors? I'm having to disable nv surround and then switching to the two monitors I want to use so i can use one monitor.

I'm using 128 FOV because of the distance to my 3-monitors.

For those games I play single monitor on, it depends on the game. Sometimes the game allows a single without turning off NVSurround, others, it's necessary.
