When I start my PS4 or plug the T300RS USB cable the wheel auto-calibrate. During this process the wheel spins very fast and it reach both ends very violently (it makes my all desk shake).

My questions are:
- is it normal?
- can this damage my wheel after some time?
- is there a way to avoid this calibration every time I start the PS4 or plug the wheel?

I wouldn't like my wheel to become damaged by doing this every day!

Work as designed!

That sounds to me like it's working exactly as designed to. The wheel itself has self-imposed stops within it so the wheel has to calibrate itself each time it starts up to know where those stops are (because you can adjust the maximum rotation of the wheel on the wheel itself and these are remembered by the onboard memory I believe).

Nothing to worry about here.

Just an extra word of caution - if you can, avoid leaving the T300RS plugged in if you shutdown the PS4. Certainly leaving it in the PS4 and putting it into Rest Mode has, on occasion, caused some glitches for people.

It's just better as a rule to unplug it before shutting it down and plugging it back in again when you start playing. ;)

I'll do that, thanks!
