That's just a cut down version of the G25/27 shifter... and the bottom pic on that page shows a G27 setup...
And if they had used the G25/27 shifter you would have a load of extra buttons.

Also the G920, which is like the G29, but doesn't have the rotary switch or the +/- switch. So what you get is a G27 base, with the d-pad and 8 buttons from the shifter moved to it, but minus the 6 buttons already on it, and no shifter obviously, for (MSRP pricing here) 30 GBP more than a G27? Why would you buy a wheel with the same innards but a ton less functionality for more money?

They moved all the buttons to the wheel, as requested by everyone. I liked my G25 shifter better than the Thrustmaster I replaced it with. The Thrustmaster is like 150$. But is much stronger than the G25. 50 dollars is much cheaper than 150. And I wouldn't really call the new wheel a cut down version of the old. It has several new features and improvements. (waiting to hear the reviews)! Logitech is just following Thrustmasters pricing. But offering more, with their new and improved three pedal set. Which we all know is pretty good, if based on the older model. Prices will probably drop. Were in a wheel price serge. Blame it on pCars.:acne:

$50 =/= 50 pounds..probably closer to $80 or $100. absolute joke imo, $200 extra for a hideous looking wheel & a $30 brake spring.

When it comes to electronics, something that sells for 50 GBP in UK usually sells for $50 USD in the States. Those lucky Yanks! :)

Well for me G27 is much better. G29/920 looks like a gaming device, G27 has much more serious look. I'm not hardcore gamer, I want to get pleasure from car racing simulation. And without H-shifter its more like a device for little kids.
So I'm happy to have G27.:)

Its funny how they enlarged g29 picture to make less noticable that both g29 and g920 pictures are taken at exactly the same angle and look exacle the same except some buttons and rpm bar :D
