Hi all,

Good news, the PS4 patch will be going live today. :) Below are the final release notes for the PS4 version of patch 1.4.

Project CARS – PS4 Patch 1.4 – Release Notes

General
* Pagani Monza Club day invitational event – no longer causes the game to crash when using a specific livery on the Pagani Huayra.
* Anisotropic filtering has been increased to help reduce blurry textures.
* Temporal anti-aliasing has been further optimised. This reduces the ghosting effect and additionally gives the player full control via a slider to tweak the resulting image according to personal preference.

Performance improvements
* All shaders have been rebuilt using new shader compiler, giving a significant performance boost in some areas.
* CPU performance gains due to new more aggressive code optimisations.

Physics & AI
* The AI loss of grip that results from tyre degradation as a result of wear is now more noticeable.
* The AI will now show much more realistic grip loss when running on slick tyres in the rain.
* First pass improvements on various tracks to enhance the AI performance and ability (Azure Circuit, Donington GP, Watkins Glen, Bathurst, Nordschleife).

Replays
* Improved the smoothness of the sun, moon, stars, and shadow motion when rewinding replays of a race that had a high time acceleration.

Driver Network Profile
* Fixed an issue where at times the miles driven on a particular track or with a particular car would be logged under the wrong car or track. This improves the accuracy of the player’s Affinity ratings.

Pitting, Tuning, Setups
* Fixed an issue where certain street cars would pit for tyre change during rain when they already had the correct tyres fitted.
* Fixed an issue where custom vehicle setups were lost when progressing through sessions.
* Fixed an issue where AI vehicles were sometimes sent to the pits due to low fuel on races where refuelling is not allowed.
* Improved the system used to select the most appropriate tyres based on current and predicted weather conditions.
* Ensure that the AI always pit when they need to change tyres based on the weather conditions.
* The Default strategy will now correctly show the tyres that will be fitted on the player vehicle during a pit stop.
* The pit stop routine will no longer start during online races until the player closes the pit stop menu. This ensures that the player has enough time to select or configure an appropriate set of actions before the pit crew start working on the car.
* Tyre pressures will now be correctly set when the player changes to a new set of tyres.
* The currently-active Pit strategy will now remain in action when advancing through race sessions.
* Pitstop strategy will now use the actual bar value for tyre pressures.
* Fixed an issue where the Pit engineer would repeatedly inform the player that a pit crew member has lost a wheel nut during pit stops.
* Fixed an issue where the Pit Engineer would call the player to stop for fuel when fuel consumption was disabled in options.

Online
* Fixed an issue where the player was sometimes given a large time penalty when exiting the pit lane.
* Fixed an issue where the remaining session time displayed an incorrect value in the Tuning screen.
* Fixed an issue that at times would prevent a player from entering a race, after joining a second online lobby.
* Fixed an issue where the Track Location popup would at times appear on some screens.
* The lobby browser now displays random lobbies instead of always the oldest lobbies.
* Fixed an issue where network features could not be used after resuming from rest mode.
* Fixed an occasional crash when advancing from Qualifying to Race.
* Fixed an occasional crash when returning from a race to the Race Central.
* Disabled driver swap to AI team-mate during online races and Time Trial events.
* Enabled saving of community event ghosts. These ghosts are automatically stored online, and you can then download ghosts of other players’ laps for these events.

Controls
* Fixed pedals and triggers that vibrates during replays.
* Fixed an issue that causes the wheel centring spring to be active during driving.
* Improved force feedback strength and tweaked the default force feedback parameters for all supported wheels based on community feedback.
* Further enhancements to the steering feeling – improved blending between the tyre force spring and the steering lock spring.
* Improved behaviour of the wheel force springs while navigating the menu system.
* Fixed an issue where the player got stuck on the career screen when entering driver name using a wheel controller.
* Fixed an issue with the Thrustmaster T500RS centring spring.
* Fixed several issues and further improved the support implementation of several older Fanatec wheels, such as the GT2, GT3, and CSR.
* Fixed the Fanatec CSS so that it works correctly in sequential mode.
* Fixed the Fanatec CSP pedals to save the calibration correctly if player calibrated only pedals.
* Fixed the Fanatec CSP ABS rumble.
* Fixed the Fanatec CSW handbrake.
* Game Pad – tilt Control support implemented to allow controller tilt to be used to control the vehicles.
* Implemented support for the Logitech G29 wheel.

Time Trial
* Set Time Trials starting time to 11am to match the PC platform. This ensures consistent track temperatures across all platforms, as track temperatures affect lap times.

GUI
* Driver Network Profile – visual tidy up to improve usability.
* Fixed an issue where very thin lines would not always appear.
* Added support for better info display on the Community Events page.
* Fixed the issue where HUD customization was not saved on exiting a session.
* Fixed an issue where the Potential Lap time display on the Lap Info board would be inconsistent with the sector times being displayed.
* Monitor / Spectate mode – fixed an issue where the vehicle being viewed would automatically reset to the player’s vehicle on leaving the monitor screen.

Vehicles
* Adjusted handbrake strength on vehicles which are equipped with handbrakes.
* Fixed an issue where the rain wipers’ state did not reset correctly when restarting a session.
* Fixed an issue where light glows from a vehicle behind the player would sometimes appear in front of the player.
* Fixed fuel pressure gauge calibration in several cars.
* Fixed an issue where a white border would at times appear around the brake light glow of certain cars.
* Ford Mk IV – improved the collision model to prevent vehicles wedging in under other vehicles.
* Formula Gulf, Gumpert Apollo, Formula Rookie – fixed an issue with the livery sets that caused the livery selection to display wrong liveries.
* Lykan Hypersport – statistics updated to latest manufacturer specification.
* Lotus 72D – improved handing characteristics, exposed bump stops to be adjustable in the vehicle setup, reduced cold sensitivities of the slick tyres, adjusted the AI speed, wear and rain tires to match the player’s experience.
* Karts – reworked the Karts optimization to help address performance drops with a lot of Karts on track.
* McLaren 12C GT3 – adjusted the vehicle pose to more closely match the real car.
* BMW M3 GT4 – improved the accuracy of the levels at which the oil and water temperature warning lights will activate.
* Ford Escort RS1600 – improved the collision and wheel contact model to prevent climbing over other cars in collisions.
* 250cc Superkart – improved the default setup to address controller issues on higher speed tracks, and improved the AI handling.
* Lotus 49 – improved the AI handling of the vehicle in corners and in close racing.
* Pagani Huayra – reduced fuel consumption to around 3mpg in hard track use, and improved cooling to prevent engine overheating.

Tracks
* Bathurst – removed cones in the pit lane that was causing cars to get stuck.
* Watkins Glen – fixed a number of accuracy issues around the track.
* 24 Heures du Mans – improved the race line at a few corners to keep the LMP cars off the curbs as this was causing the cars to lean over on two wheels.
* Silverstone National – vehicle grid placement reworked to more closely align with the painted start boxes.
* Hockenheim (various layouts) – reworked the wet weather reflection mapping to address incorrect object reflections.
* Willow Springs – fixed an issue where the vehicle could drive through the barriers when exiting the pits.
* Sakitto and Summerton variations – corrected track info regarding number of turns and track length.
* Sakitto Sprint – fixed a crash that would at times occur when using time acceleration.
* Cadwell variations – fixed draw distance issues on various objects.
* Oschersleben variations – fixed odd lights around track and colour issues with the horizon.
* Zolder – fixed an issue where the player car would sometimes start in a closed garage.

Yes, support is in this patch. I added it to the notes above. FYI, reason it was missing before was down to NDA, but I've added it to the release notes above now that Logitech's let the cat out the bag.

What does this mean? On PS4 leaderboards I only see ps4 players. Boards are not cross-platform?

ATM Time Trial starts at 5pm (on consoles only). This is now changed to have consistent conditions across all platforms (PC already starts at 11am).

* Improved force feedback strength and tweaked the default force feedback parameters for all supported wheels based on community feedback.

Questions about this change:

1) will custom FFB setting be erased when the patch is applied, or kept?
2) are those changes based on Jack Spade settings?
3) is there a way to reset every cars FFB to the new default settings?

Let's call it week and a half now. But please don't shoot me if an issue pops up.

We thought we had it ready earlier and the QA guys found a crash which put us back a few days initially

Wow, was expecting the PS4 batch to be late this weekend or early next week at the very soonest given Ians' post on 7th June. Didn't leave my PS4 in standby (its fully powered down) so will have to wait for the upload when I get home tonight :apologetic:still I have 80mbps download so 500Mb wont take long. :D

Really excited to feel how my Fanatec GT3 feels post patch.

So, is there a downside to setting the temporal anti-aliasing to 100 straight up? To what standard does this scale to, ie. 4x 8x etc? And is the default setting of 20 same as it was before, or was there not any TXAA before the patch? Just trying to figure out what to set it to because I think my brain got a bit used to the way it was before (it gave me headaches at the beginning), and now when this new thing is introduced I think it will confuse my eyes at the beginning once again. Just wondering what would be the best way to go about this. Like, if I set it to 100 and get used to it, is that the best possible image quality, will it require the ps4 to use more computing power etc.?

Also transfers nicely to Vita with it's even more fiddly sticks.

I'm not bothered about the Patch version number, but may confuse some people and they may start multiple threads about this oversight. Maybe you could edit the "stickied" patch threads to the correct value 1.04.

You'll probably get kicked from lobbies while running the new patch until all regions have the patch. If you jump into a lobby and the host has 1.01, you'll probably get bumped for the mismatch.

I'm in Canada and have both Canadian and US accounts, and it's not available on either yet.

BUG:
Sometimes the car pulls involuntarily towards the pits when approaching. Both times with low fuel, 5-7 liters. Like its following some predetermined rail. Car stops pulling after you pass the pit entrance but by then you've been pulled off into the grass. This has happened at both Watkins Glen and Bathurst.

So I start a career race, set car up, save it and exit garage. I'm looking forward to getting my teeth into this as I don't have keep setting the car up every session. Then after a few laps head back to the pits, open setup screen and all settings have reset! Is it just me as before at least it saved for the session? Patch installed ok. I restarted PS4 and same issue. Career mode for me like this is unplayable :(

1) Obviously they are kept. All my personal settings are still in place. My question would be: have all options I had on default changed somehow? (ffb calibration options were not accessable since some time with my CSW and the 094 firmware, so I had no way to look them up before the patch)
3) Dont think so. At least I did not notice such an option. Would be gr8 tbh.

Probably a very minor bug but the wings on pagani huayra and P1 (any car with a mechanical wing) are not shown correctly in replays. Always max downforce position and static on the pagani and in the "open" position on the P1. Wings operate perfectly during actual driving but disappointing to see this hasn't been addressed. I must say I'm still delighted with PCars overall.

This is almost the only weekend of the year that my gaming system get's ignored.

I'm sitting 100 meters from the Dunlop Bridge and I wish I could be playing PCARS right now! :)

Are you sure? People are reporting that the T300 center spring issue is not fixed.. some say after the patch is installed, full system restart, then resetting all settings to default, then re-calibrating the wheel then re-entering preferred global FFB/Control settings fixes it..

Im on a CSW v2 and all is fine after the update. Cant say anything about the T300.

Where and which option do i have to change to improve the ghosting effect?

You dont need to change anything. Default for the new slider that improves on ghosting is 20. If you set it to 100 you get ghosting like before the patch. 0 is cool, too, but I feel 20 is just fine.

haven't had a chance to play patch yet, but is the "tilt" control set on default or do you need to activate it?
for patch 1.05 some absolute necessities i think need to be added, if not already being consider, are as ollows:

*fix bugged career invitationals
*fix the issue where randomly in career the laps won't count as you do them
*in community events and time trials with tracks that have chicanes(especially azure) the corner cutting MUST be stricter. look at the top times and you'll see at azure people cutting straight through chicanes .
*general gameplay is very inconsistent showing the red and green sector times in the middle of the screen. i can set a fastest lap, but it doesn't show my sector times at all during the lap.
*fix the issue where when qualifying as soon as the time ends, you can't 't finish your current flying lap.
*add an online feature to party up with your friends so you don't have to invite them each time you leave a race lobby and go to a new one.
*make the headlights of gt3 yellow as in real life le mans
*when the AI gets a blue flag make them slow up a touch and move off the racing line - currently they act as if you don't exist.

Thank you m8.

I just changed it on 0 and took some prints with share button and there's no ghosting at all. On 20 there's still some.

Why do you think 20 is better than 0?

Fong74
12-06-2015, 19:05
I did not have any issue with ghosting before tbh. In the distance there was no ghosting and as I tend to look into the distance while driving for most of the time, I was not unhappy with the graphics at all.

I tested only roughly today and will have a deeper look into the slider options/effect during the next days. I felt that 20 removed ghosting completely and 0 improved the effect almost not further. But that issue is very dependant on individual perception and the TV one uses....so I think that general statements on how gosting really occurs are quite difficult.

My patience is wearing thin. This was one of the Major issues. I see a lot of one off issues fixed and not something like this which is global. Escort contact physics no good. I just don't drive the escort. But that is fixed and something as global as this is not. WTF?

bug where you join online session and it is locked remains after update 1.04

ChrisK
13-06-2015, 01:20

Are any of the developers noting this ? It's a showstopper of an issue. Happens every race on every track. If I'm low on fuel the car will automatically veer off to the pits. Can one of you acknowledge this at least.

Ok, just figured it out. When I reset everything after the patch it activated steering assist. So when steering assist is on, even if you aren't scheduled for a pit stop but your fuel is low the car makes a bee line for the pits.

I was hoping that on the Fanatec CSS, the sequential mode would be seen as L1 and R1, but this is not the case.

I find this very annoying as I don't want to have to go all the way back to the options just to configure it that way.

Can we get any response why the setup saving bug in career mode is worse now please?

For me it resets everytime I leave the pits? Before it only reset between sessions.

I wouldn't be too bothered but I was excited this was supposed to be fixed not made worse and was stated in patch notes. So if an issue is listed in patch release notes we should not believe that it is fixed in-game?

Can someone tell me what the hell got fixed? I don't see or feel not one change. Clutch still doesn't work. Still doesn't save times in leader boards. Still doesn't hold tunes in Career and I could go on and on. I literally don't see one difference. Was this a joke?

1) Obviously they are kept. All my personal settings are still in place. My question would be: have all options I had on default changed somehow? (ffb calibration options were not accessable since some time with my CSW and the 094 firmware, so I had no way to look them up before the patch)
3) Dont think so. At least I did not notice such an option. Would be gr8 tbh.

You have ffb settings in the car tuning menu, just tap the R2 button to gain access instead of the trigger when tuning.

I still have an issue with leaving the pits, my car will just randomly stop as it goes to enter the track and the wheels just keep spinning, so i have to restart the entire race, very frustrating during the endurance part of the game, just wondering do you know anything about this and will their be a fix?

Well done for adding support for the PS4 controller's gyro. Tilt control, even though it's not clear how to turn it on (BTW, you change the control config for L/R steering direction and tilt the controller to set each direction) it's made a massive difference to the fine steering control. Lots of people think it's "arcade" style control, but I think it feels that much more realistic than the joysticks for those without wheels. Thanks again for listening to user feedback.

I have noticed the AI are still shockingly bad when lapping them. Lost count how many times they have rammed me when passing the back markers. Also lapped drivers are being wrongly placed, e.g. I lap 16th place just before the finish line and he's placed 2nd in race. The only other issue I have is now game crashes when I try to race online now after the patch. Never had that problem before.

Great game lads keep up the sterling work. Can't wait for more tracks especially the original Spa and hopefully the 10k monza layout

BECAUSE STUPID ME DIDN'T REBOOT PS4 AFTER PATCH. Now I feel a difference in FFB and tune is holding in career so far. Clutch is working too. But I wanna know if this is a known bug cuz I don't think I saw it reported. Even before the patch, if I turn off my wheel anytime the game is on whether in a race or the home screen, once I power on and put in PC mode the game crashes. Yes, this is the one thing I have been patiently waiting for. Not sure how it made it into 1.4 patch notes or how this was not higher on the list to make it into 1.4. Not for me to judge I guess, but this is really impacting my experience. I also hope that we will be able to move control sliders in increments of 1 in next patch as dialing dead zone removal seems impossible at this point making the removal slider by increments of 5.

Simply because we're capacity limited. We have 40 people working updates and fixes and features. We're reinvesting money we haven't received yet to make this thing as good as we can make it.

Granularity point. Too much and it's really a hassle to navigate (slow), but 2 is a good compromise on AI ability I think.

I was only referring to the granularity in the controls sliders. From what I have read some of the controls adjustments are very sensitive to even the slightest adjustment. The PS4 users cannot follow the wheel set up guides directed at PC users because the sliders don't provide for the fine tuning described. I feel like I am missing out. This is how I am feeling with my perfectly good G25 and my PS4.

Also.. ran a 44 car multi class race and no Gt cars were included so that was a little disappointing but nowhere near as much as the above.

Still enjoying the game but it feels more of a quality driving sim right now than a racing sim.

I actually hope project cars support and dev is reading this. I have project cars on both ps4 and Pc on steam. I am using fanatec clubsport rig set up, fanatec wheel v2, pedals v2, shifter and handbrake.

On ps4 the fanatec clubsport pedal brake abs rumble feature doesnt work, also clubsport handbrake doesnt work on ps4, i cant even map it. Both of the features that i was anticipating for the 1.4 ps4 update didnt even work, and thoes were the 2 of the 3 major features i was anticipating, not including bugs and fixes. The sequential shifter works now after the 1.4 which is good. However abs brake rumble doesnt work and handbrake doesnt work.

And please if your reading this, fix your tracks! I know your adding more tracks and over 100+ tracks, but from what i know only 5 tracks are actually lazer scanned if im not mistaken, and all UK tracks! And please do away from your fictional tracks! Especially the karting tracks, they are the worst! Add REAL non fiction lazer scanned tracks. Including scanning real gokart tracks. I am really hoping now that you sold over 2 million copies on steam alone, that you will be lazer scanning all your tracks soon, since you have the finances for scanning equipment and finances to travel to tracks all over the world, or to aleast buy the lazer scanned data. This will also be a very good investment in the long run for the simracing comunity, and to use for any future development of racing sims (i hear your making project cars 2? um, why?) Nonetheless, this is something that is a VERY important/required feature for me, and i know im not the only one, also along with many other sim racers. I am looking forward to hopfully see ALL your non laser scanned tracks to be lazer scanned along with other upcomming tracks, with the addition of yas marina and bahrain international circuit (which i travel there occasionally on open track days, so would be great to have them at home for practice away from track)

Sorry for the long post,
in conclusion,

1) fix fanatec clubsport v2 pedals abs brake rumble feature for PS4 (please dont tell me it doesnt work or only on pc like some have said before, gran turismo 6 supports it and its on ps3)

2) fix fanatec handbrake on ps4

3) lazer scan all current tracks and upcomming tracks (either do it yourself since scanning equipment is cheap now or buy the lazer scanned data, you have the finances now for either way. Plus, good investment for now and future.

4) no more fictional tracks. I wouldn't mind you removing your fictional tracks, please scan everything including real go kart tracks.

The pedal rumble only works from the game if they are plugged directly into the pc or for all platforms inro the wheel, and you set the rumble % on the wheel. As designed by fanatec.

Yeah on pc it works fine.
What do you mean how do you make it work on ps4?

You mean the abs settings on the wheel? I know how to set abs % but the rumble/juder feature in the brakes doesnt work. my laptimes on pc vs ps4 are not very consistant because of it. Im so used to abs rumble on pc and on my other sims (iracing, asseto corsa..ect). This is not a real car or real pedal and in sim racing you cant really feel gforces or even wheel lock. So the rumble feature helps me with threshhold braking. For example if i set abs settings to 70% i get maximum braking at around 68- 69% of the pedal depressed. After 70% the pedal starts to juder/rumble that means my wheels are locking up. So by pressing the pedal at around the 69% mark I get better braking, i know it every single time and where its at, so i get better late braking and quicker times with this feature in sim racing, without it your either under braking and going to fast for a corner or overbraking and locking up. So when you compare my pc vs ps4 lap times theres a significant difference. im so used to it in pc sim racing that on ps4 im constantly looking for the threshhold point and just getting wheel lock and then remembering no pedal rumble and it gets frustrating. In a real car you feel wheel lock on the steering wheel and you can feel understeer and over steer and you dont really need it. Most racing cars dont use abs because the race driver feels it and abs is a driving technology and a driving aid and just slows you down, but in sim racing its all visual unless you have a 6dof motion sim, which mine isnt..yet

No. It should work fine on PS4 too with pedals plugged into the base.

I had the rumble after upgrading to FW 094. It was gr8 which I did not expect. You could feel the car loosing grip while tailbraking. Really nice! But that lasted only one evening. I turned the wheel off and it is gone since then.

Pls guys have a look into this. It worked fine, so some small issue sems still to be there which I hope you can remove.

p.s.:
I know there are more important issues to be fixed/upgraded, but if that vibration could be brought back, it would be really appreciated by all CSP users

I am not sure you will get a good idea of what to expect from PC and ps4 users. From all accounts I have read, the FFB experience has been quite different between platforms. Ps4 had very heavy, jarring FFB prior to the patch. I was able to tune some of this out prior to the patch, but it still existed. After the patch the FFB using the same car setup is much lighter and more smooth. However, there is a dead zone that needs to be tuned out. I have not been able to get this worked out yet. I simply increased the spindle master setting in the cars and the FFB feels pretty good. The center spring force is still active for the t300 which is causing issues with slow corners. I seem to be getting better information on understeer with the new patch.

There are so many other issues to fix before that :
- game loading tracks for ever (force to close the app in ps4 menu)
- no engine sound 1/5 race
- car driven by AI for launched starts that does stupid things
- AI kart that always brake when you are close behind them
- strange collisions that makes impossible to control your car every time there is a contact with another vehicle
- black flag because your kart starts to move on a flat ground when in first gear with clutch engaged

I hadn't thought of trying this method, does it work every time?

I'm presuming you also set your fuel level in practice as I'm guessing entering the setups resets everything regardless when you go to career

Grimey I have a question for you. I'm still using the original settings you posted and if I get a chance tonight I'm gonna try the new ones. I really like the feel but want to fix one thing. When coming into a hairpin, eg: Oulton Park Island, I can't get my wheel to spin back fast enough when coming out of the apex. I usually just give it a spin with my hand. I tried the on wheel SPR and DPR but even with those at -4 it takes away some FFB feeling so I keep them off. Do you know if any of the games FFB settings will help the wheel spin back? It just feels like it doesn't have enough force to spin itself back fast enough coming out of a hairpin. But it's absolutely fine everywhere else.

Use the new setting it has been modified slightly for update V1.4 ....Turn the "MZ" setting to 100 that controls wheel centering force. with new settings use relative adjust bleed 50 and i use 65 to 75 in game FFB with the v2 wheel( I dunno which 1 im gonna stick with yet)... it can take it with out clipping... remember if you lower your FFB you have to adjust your relative adjust bleed lower also... No exact # you just gotta test it for feel.

The patch on PS4 hasn't fixed much -
- Game is crashing even more now, I wouldn't mind too much but with a trophy (Complete LeMans 24 in Real Time) that requires the game to work for at least 24 hours it's a pisstake
- Pits still giving out cut track penalties
- Pit crew doesn't change tyres (Even when it's set to change) Which ruins a lot of Multiplayer races
- Times still not counting on some Community Events (Annoying as there is a trophy for completing 20 of these)

I'm pretty f*****g unhappy about the comment made by Ian here about Logitech support in this patch. It was stated to "be patient and wait for good news" making everyone believe our G27's would work with this patch. The only support added is the overpriced G29 (which isn't even on sale yet!) and I missed the sale on the Thrustaster T300 because of it. I was even waiting, refused to buy the game until there was wheel support and I went and grabbed the PS4 version once Ian posted that comment, which is now sitting next to my PS4 and G27 collecting dust.

Please understand SMS is a T-I-N-Y studio and could in no way influence these types of decisions. It's more about major corporations (Logitech & Sony) involved in this decision.

Frankly, I'm sure SMS would have loved to see Logitech announce G27/25 support for PS4 because these wheels already work well for project cars on the PC version. It would have been little additional work for them.

If others are having this problem it maybe down to the game physics not returning the forces from the Caster. I don't think anyone from SMS would comment on that last sentence, but It would be nice to have a some feedback about in game caster and how the physics engine handles it! And if the steering ratio has a play in the self centering effect. Anyone? Thanks for reading.

Sure way to start your first post on the forums mate. I Was gonna try to give you some advise / info, but with that I'd rather not.

Not sure what advice you could give on the situation. Nothing can be done at this point until Logitech provides legacy support for their G27 and DFGT wheels still on sale being advertised as official PlayStation wheels. Not everyone is as involved in sim racing reading forums and what not to fully understand what's going on and there's plenty of P.O. people who just spent money on DFGT's and G27's recently only to discover they don't work with PS4 and now the G29 exists as a giant cash-grab.

The only option I have at this point would be to sell my PS4 (which I don't want to do) and my PS4 copy of PCARS (which I don't want to do) and use the money to build a PC (which I would like to do but not at the expense of my PS4). Or I would have to sell my G27 (which I don't want to do) to put the money towards a Fanatec or Thrustmaster, both configurations of which are going to cost more money than I can sell my G27 for, thus adding more cost to being able to play PCARS properly. All of which I wouldn't have to worry about if everyone would just get their s**t together.

Proof or stop being libelous. PCars has Logitech support, just not for the wheel you own. Direct your ire at Logitech, they are the ones that screwed you over not SMS.

The proof is right here in these forums. Ian himself went and stated to "be patient and wait for some good news" regarding Logitech support on PS4. The G27 was the main point of interest in the comments/posts being made before Ian made that statement leading everyone to believe we woul have at least G27 support with the 1.4 patch. And I'm not the only one who feels this way, all my G27/DFGT owning friends as well as plenty of people posting over on GTPlanet feel the same way. I'm not being libelous, I'm providing direct feedback to Ian from what came from his statement. Obviously there is Logitech support, just not for the wheel I own. If you had actually read my first post instead of being focused on slamming me you would have seen I already pointed that out. And I've already called, emailed, and posted all over Logitech's facebook page.

Let me preface this by saying that I'm one of the biggest critics of SMS and PCars, with all of its associated bugs, on this forum. Look at my post history and you'll find evidence of that. That being said, I think there's a fair bit of melodrama in your post to be honest. Sell the ps4 and project cars to build a gaming PC ? Really ? What's that return gonna be ? Seems to me you'll be about $1k short of building a pc and you'll take a $200 hit on selling your used gear. The math don't add up. Classic cut your nose off to spite your face.

I understand your frustration and having a vent is perfectly understandable aswell, but I hardly think SMS are responsible for logitech compatibility. It's in their best interests to make all wheels compatible rather than limit the compatible wheels. I guess I can kinda get how your interepreted Ian's post, but still...its drawing a long bow. Seems you just found yourself a scapegoat.

If you think PCars will eventually be a workable game when it's out of beta testing, then keep your gear and upgrade your wheel. Fanatec gt2 wheel and pedal sets are going for a great price. If you think PCars will remain a lemon then you still have the option of keeping the ps4 and waiting for asetto corsa next year, (or even the ps4 version of gt...there's also f1 coming out soon). Alternately, but last resort, sell everything i guess and make the significant investment in pc.

I know what I'd do, it wouldn't be to build a gaming pc personally. for that kind of money I'd be investing in a great wheel and pedal set like the fanatec clubsport.

I don't have the disposable income others might, I can't afford to just go out and build a gaming PC. Hence selling my PS4 to fund the process. If I stay on PS4 I would have to sell my G27 to help fund a new wheel. I'm not cutting of anything but my cash flow to Logitech.

Ian's comments made everyone believe we would be getting G27 support. Blaming SMS was rash I admit, but I was trying to make the point that we would have been better off without that comment. I missed a Fanatec bundle sale and a T300 sale because of it, plus bought a copy of PCARS for PS4 thinking my G27 would work with the 1.4 patch based on Ian.

When did I ever say anything about PCARS not being a workable game? I think PCARS is great, actually. What makes this so frustrating is not having a wheel to drive it properly. Also especially frustrating for me since I use sims as a training tool, not just as enjoyment from a video game.

Lastly, I'm not interested in the GT3RS V2 so please don't bother. I am very well educated in all the sim wheels, PCARS, and the situation with Logitech. I wouldn't have to sell my G27 if I moved to PC so I wouldn't have to "sell everything" and I've already spent $400+ to be able to play on PS4 so why in the world would I spend another $600 just on a freaking wheel base when I have a perfectly good G27 currently collecting dust.
