We are nearing the end of our incredibly successful first seasons with Project CARS, and we are now starting sign-ups for Season 2 where all championships are trying out a different car. The first post has been updated accordingly. Hope to see some of you on track!

I've been looking to join a league since PCARS went public and have been to your website several times with the intension of joining Season 2. I have no issues racing the Formula Rookies, but I just can’t get past racing with all the aids on (ABS, traction and stability control). I see this in many leagues, but I don’t understand it. What am I missing? BTW, I'm interested in the American PC Series.

Hi t-stang

The reason most leagues allow assists is to make them accessible to as many people as possible. Some drivers just cannot race without them, and for drivers who don't have a wheel, and who race with a gamepad, it's extra difficult. We don't want to turn drivers away. Furthermore, we've found that while assists can make a car easier to drive, they aren't going to make you faster than a competent no-assist driver.

That said, for both our Formula Rookie Leagues, and because the cars are quite easy to drive and slow (though no less fun!), the Force Realistic Driving Aids is set to Yes. A lot of drivers asked for it! I believe that means that only auto gears will be allowed (which will certainly only make you slower, not faster).
