Since the announcement of project car 2 we see a lot of trash thrown at SMS with no justification .

so much so that i have decided to open this thread to express my appriciation to the game and the developers. i'm sure others are feeling the same also.
problem is that negative is always louder than positive.

some of my points

1. project CARS is a great sim.
2. project CARS is at the start of its life cycle and i expect more great stuff in future dlc's.
3. i have no doubt that all issues will be fixed in future patches .
4. we (gamers) need this game to be profitable for SMS to insure future releases and dlc's.
5. every studio should start the next best thing as soon as they release their title.
6. games takes years to develop , we got enough time to enjoy this sim .
7. project CARS does not suffer from project CARS 2 , project CARS 2 is its future.
8. at 50 hours in i have already got my money worth and i have only started.
9. some people are very rude and unable to express them self in an acceptable manner.
10. gamers expecting SMS to focus on Project CARS only are childish and do not understand the buisness.

so thank you guys for bringing us this great sim.
i'm looking forward for future releases (dlc's and PCARS 2) while enjoying this sim.

keep up the great work.

Main issues that made the game horrible for me are 3D Vision issues, and randomly losing my profile. Those are very serious issues that can bring any game from "Great" to "Horrible". When I pay for a product, I expect it to work properly. If it doesn't, such as in this case, I expect the developers to be helpful in resolving issues. In which they haven't been (support email on their homepage does not even work).

I am not being rude, just expressing my frustration. SMS is being rude by treating me like a slave.

I would like to second the OP, not only do I really enjoy this game, but IMO it is the best racing game I have ever played. Unlike some of the members of this forum, and the racing community as a whole, I have not owned every single racing title back to 1984, and I don't make pilgrimages to Le Mans. I do however, enjoy driving both real and virtual.

My experiences with Gran Turismo felt clunky, and allowed me almost no room for advancement- I couldn't really get better at driving by doing laps over and over, and the controls never gained the familiar comfortable feel as they did in other games. Project Cars changed all of that for me. Even without the staple cars that I default to, the long car list is full of gems that I am still discovering. The immense amount of tweaking that can be done to the controller, graphics, HUD (I can only play third person still) and cars themselves have allowed me to increasing develop my skills as I play. The satisfaction of getting my ass kicked up and down a track, only to race again and crush the guy that was just beating me is unmatched by any racing game to date.

Additionally, I don't have a wheel, and never felt inclined to buy one. For the first time last week, I found myself checking out wheels on Amazon. The game is so immersive that it finally made me feel like a wheel will enhance my experience. Forza and Gran Turismo never generated such feelings, not even close.

The DLC that has been released already has also been excellent. I see no reason why DLC would be halted, stopped or made worse by any of the actions from the SMS team thus far. The same can be said for the patch. The patch not only improved my experience in all modes of game play, but by comparison to other games of all different genres, the patch addressed a lot of issues, and did it in a timely manner.

Since the moment I booted the game up, I felt like I have gotten my monies worth. I enjoy the game immensely, and play every day.

Lastly, the sense of entitlement from many of the people that post on this board is absolutely astounding. On a daily basis I read some of the most stuck up, bratty sounding, childish, socialist garbage you can find on the internet. From guys that "demand" changes and "fight" the company by asking for protest in signature lines, to complete trolls that think announcement of a sequel equates to cancellation or no further development of the current game, rather then positive reaction from paying customers. You paid 60 bucks for a game... No one owes you anything... If you don't like the game, sell it, or return it, or don't buy the sequel. If you feel "cheated" out of 60 because a GAME didn't live up to exactly what YOU wanted, you have other more important life issues you should sort out first.

i also don't get how people can say that SMS don't care and don't address issues when the head of the studio him self is taking the time to answer them directly.

Mr. Bell , reading your answers to posts , its clear that you really care and sometimes even get offended.
Don't let these people distract you. you and the crew are doing a great job.

i don't take it for granted that the head of the studio is taking its time to answer so promptly. its something to be appreciated.

Thanks vtt. To be fair though they have ruined it. This place will become a 'community forum' as I can't find time to search out valid posts anymore among the incessant repetitive whinging.

Samesies. I love racing games in general, but tend to tire of them after a while. The grind of having to drive a lower tier car for a long time before earning enough cash to buy a supercar isn't appealing most of the time. With Pcars however I can totally see myself playing over and over again. No other racing game have ever tempted me to ever consider a steering wheel, and now I have a T300rs because of this game. I always use auto transmission in all racing games, now because of Pcars I now use manual, and smack myself everytime at how I can live with auto for so long.

Project Cars is a really good game and I have no regrets getting this over Assetto Corsa. Sure it has a few bugs and some physics 'shortcuts' but my overall experience has been great so far.

It's happened with every single game I've ever played that has had public forums, go look at the cesspool that is the Steam forums and you'll see what I mean. I don't know where some of these people get it in their head that they are number 1 and companies must bow to them and give them what they want, I've worked in customer service for several years and that mindset is not exclusive to gamers. The world is filled with entitled people who want everything their way and if it isn't, watch out, because they will be sure to let everyone know.

However, I disagree with your second point. If someone pays $60 for a video game, they are owed something, it's perfectly reasonable to expect a game to work properly. The way people go about expressing their concerns with the games is what the issue is, or it should be.

Honesty is always appreciated even when the message is sour. I take there will be little point in the future for the fans to post real issues here then.

I agree with your example of the Steam forums, and raise you the EA forums. ;-P

While I understand there are still bugs, aren't they being worked out? Furthermore, hasn't the reaction from the devs on this forum and the subsequent patch proven that steps are being taken to address those issues? They are getting what they are owed.. No on is stopping the tweaking or the additional content. I personally would rather play the game while they iron out the final bugs instead of waiting 2-6 more months to have it fixed prior to release, I guess that's just me who is having LOADS of fun with this game despite the known bugs. For the record, I support a leader board wipe when they get the corners issue figured out.

At the end of the day, your last sentence is the most important. Bold for emphasis. Buying a game doesn't entitle you to be an asshole, no matter how you slice it.

Just because Ian has quite understandably started to wonder why he is spending (or wasting) his time trying to communicate with idiots on this forum, doesn‘t mean that the forum won‘t still be a place to get issues sorted. The actual legitimate problems will get reduced by the team anyway with the patches, and the rest of us will have enough experience between us to help out newcomers getting set up.

I‘m surprised Ian has put up with the numpties this long actually, but he‘s given me a good laugh when he‘s been wielding the banhammer in the face of the troll hordes.
This forum has the potential to be a very civilised place, but it has certainly come close to the edge of being sunk under the weight of the moaners. Let‘s hope good nature and sense prevail in the longer term, but I guess we‘ll just have to see about that.

Anyone with a problem can still come here though and there‘s enough of us around to help out. I‘ve found lots of useful stuff I didn‘t know and I‘ve spent more time in this game than I probably should have, but having just signed up for part 2, there‘s still plenty more to do.

That is so offensive to the thousands of people around the world who truly are slaves. You have a few problems with your computer game and are comparing it to the abhorrent practice of slavery. You need perspective in your life.

Me love too pCars.

Played it for 39 hours so far and I don't have it that long and considering that my T300RS is broken (crying) and I have to play with the SRW S1, I think I proved that I like pCars. Everything in life has positive and negative sides of things. People whom can only whine and complain have a screw loose. Hehe :D

I apologize if I offended anyone or came across as whining. That is not my intention. In the end, what we all want is a good, well supported game. Several of you stated things such as "there‘s enough of us around to help out.". However, before becoming frustrated, I reported several issues in a friendly civilized manner, and never received any help.

I spent a LONG time tweaking the graphics settings in-game + some transparency AA in Nvidia CP and I finally have eliminated almost all aliasing. Last night I put time on fastest and just sauntered along the Nordschleife marvelling at the day/night/weather transitions.

It's amazing to me how great graphics and sound make such a massive difference to the game. I came from Gran Turismo to PC racing a year ago and looking back I don't know why I didn't jump ship sooner.

Playing in career or solo against AI, even if I come last I don't mind at all as it's such an enjoyable experience anyway. Gran Turismo had me rage-quitting in no time.

I must say well done to the SMS guys and I hope the 1.5 update gives us an even better experience.

I have to stop playing pCars!

I have to stop playing period!

I have tendinitis on my right ellbow and yesterday, playing with my SRW S1 (my T300RS is faulty and had to return it) for a couple of hours, activated the inflammation again. Ouch! I woke during the night because of the pain. Again Ouch!

If the DLC is free then there is no problem, however, if the DLC is paid, then there's a problem. But the problem is gamers don't really care. I only hope the devs stay very extremely far from this route.

John Hargreaves
24-06-2015, 11:54
So what, they should just release the game and leave it at that? No improvements, no extra content? If they carry on working on pCars1 don't they deserve to be paid for their time?
DLC costs money to produce, so if we want more stuff then we pay for it. If you don't want it or don't want to pay then that's fine you can just ignore it.
Don't forget that plenty of people are perfectly happy with the game and find it enjoyable to have new content to look forward to. Can't see why anyone should be working for no pay.

I'd like to say that the whining and complaining has to be viewed in a certain way. This is the Internet, and here emotions are expressed forcefully, thanks to its very nature. One can view this almost in an anthropological way. People, when faced with a certain case will respond according to their given tool set, and information acquired. Some are more intelligent or informed than others, and will respond accordingly. People that identifies as members of a certain tribe (WMD community for instance) will often respond more accordingly to the consensus and belief of said tribe. This is all natural. This is true in real life as well, but on the Internet, the emotions are often more powerful. One reason for this is the lack of body language to aid in transmitting information, thus making people compensate with stronger words. Another reason is the anonymity the Internet provides.

Please don't stop connecting with us. Take the criticism and the emotions as an indicator on where information needs to be improved or if anything else needs improving. Look more scientifically on it and try to leave the emotions. This, that You do (engaging with the community) is paradigm changing and a very good thing. Don't stop it. It can set a precedence that goes way beyond the gaming community. It's a small step towards a better world :)

Well put; it is interesting actually when someone comes into this forum with a full on capslock rant, only to be met by a calm and reasonable response and a genuine desire to help, and their next post is much more, well, human. As if they temporarily forgot they were part of a real human group, members of an actual real society. I am loving PCars PS4 too. It is not perfect and some UI elements are silly and frustrating, but for me, it has the most important aspect nailed and that is the gameplay.

The ridiculous livery and car selection UI will be sorted in due course (Right?!) but until then I will be busy enjoying the wonderful physics, sound and car and circuit selection.
