Hi guys,

With my triple screen setup in surround, I am experiencing very bad FPS in Project Cars. Also the overall image quality is very low from all of the screens. I even got an Blue Screen Of Death (details below) while I was running the game.

Is there anyone with the same kind of setup who can tell me if this is normal or not? :)

My complete setup:

System:
i5 4690k 3,5ghz
8gb 1600mhz DDR3
z97 gaming 5 motherboard
MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G

SCREEN SETUP:
3 different 22" LG monitors (22MP55, W2261, M227WDP) , two of them are 75hz and one is 60h. They all run at 60hz connected by resp.: DVI - HDMI, DVI - HDMI, HDMI - HDMI.

BSOD details:

0x00000050
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Caused by driver: ntoskrnl.exe

Ingame settings:
Filtering: 16x
V-Sync: On
AA: All off
Motion Blur: Off
Reflections: Medium
Environement: Medium
Particles: Medium
Rest: High

FPS Drops into the low 30s most of the time, but can reach 40/50.

Which Nvidia driver are you using? My setup with 2 GTX 980's in SLI used to run fine, then a little while ago I started getting that same blue screen error in Project CARS and other games and it was happening frequently enough that I decided to start looking into it. After doing a bit of research I figured that it was the Nvidia driver, so I ended up removing the current driver and installing version 350.12 which is the GTA V game ready driver and I am happy to say that I have not had a single blue screen since, and it's been at least 3 weeks now. And before rolling back the driver, previously it was giving me the blue screen at least once or twice a day.

So ya, if you are using a latest driver, I suggest uninstalling and going to 350.12. Not sure if it will help your frame-rate or not, but I have a feeling it might help with the crashes. You might want to turn off v-sync though, because with that enabled, if you are getting less than 60fps it will drop you right to 30 to keep in sync with your monitor, but with v-sync off, the framerate is free to sit at 40-50fps without locking at the lower rate. Especially with just a single GTX 970 and that high resolution I could see it keeping you locked at 30 most of the time.

I was running the latest (353.30), I installed 350.12 and still the same issues :) Maybe the BSOD's are gone now, thanks for that atleast hehe

Maybe it is the screens?

Turn down or off "Detailed Grass" and "Shadows". Set Pre-rendered Frames as low as you can set it without any graphic anomalies.

For some reason the following command lines were inserted in steam:

-dx9 -x86

I did so much troubleshooting the past week I must have entered this myself.

I get 80-110 fps now on a single screen with everything @ ultra, aa @ MSAA and detailed grass off.

On 5760x1080 with the same settings I get 40-60 fps.

That's pretty good. Take some things down along with Detailed Grass and you'll get some more performance. Even with my setup, I still turn some things down to ensure good framerates.

I am also intending to buy a second 970 in the next coming weeks. What is your average fps? I put my 3 screens a eBay-like website and thinking about buying a 120hz/144hz 27" monitor.

What is your average fps?

I honestly don't know. ;) I figure why measure something that I'm happy with, only to see it may not be a great number and then make me unhappy. :)
