Why is it off centre to the left a bit? I've looked up pictures of it's cockpit and it's the same story. I've searched on Google and found no answers.

More space for the shifter maybe? I don't know.

I think it's because it was designed with an "offset" suspension.,Lotus 38 had it aswell.

Yep, the wheel is in the center of the car, not in the center of the body.
