This thread is for the Wednesday night race.

Wednesday race:
The track will be announced 24 hours before race event.

TRACK:
Le Mans Bugatti Circuit (don't worry, it's not the long straight one.)

Race time:
Wednesday. AEST of 9pm (2100hrs) lobby will then start with 15 minute qualifying.

Car class:
Stepping up to Gt4. You may choose any Gt4 vehicle.

Race1:
Qualifying result is the starting position you will race from. Standing start as normal, 12 laps with one mandatory pit stop, it is your choice whether or not to change tyres as TYRE WEAR WILL BE 6x. This should spice things up and as Roozy thought of this all praise and curse words shall be directed towards him (lol just kidding it'll be great).

Race2:
Reverse grid from results of race1. First lap is formation and everything else is the same.

All driving assists allowed, if you don't use them you do t have to, but I'm not forcing the people who need them or like them to go without.

I'm happy with 6x tyre wear...but just for the record...I did suggest 3x lol
Has anyone run 12 laps on the gt4 to see what tyre wear is like ? I guess we'll find out soon enough !!

I just ran 8 laps with 6x tyre wear. Doesn't seem to make much difference to be honest.

Ewe should delete any sheep porn you have; I hear that takes up a lot of RAM...

p.s. yes, I'm aware of the irony of a kiwi making a sexual sheep joke to an Aussie

what speeds ? so I can have a look.

And first suggestion is to unplug your modem for 10 seconds restart it then test the speeds again........

The most basic and most garden variety fibre to the node service should reach minimum download speeds of 25Mbps and, more importantly, upload speeds of 5Mbps. But the disparity between those two speeds is, when you’re talking about the internet, pretty massive.

Just to be little more informative on the issue you are having Chris I believe it's packet loss when I used to play counterstike I would see players disappear and re appear in another place as I do with your car from time to time when racing , I don't see any of the other guys do this unless they are from overseas.

this is what I'm getting at work Chris . http://www.broadband.com.au/speedtest.html?gclid=CMLl6rmj7cYCFVeTvQodwvEP-A

Last Result:

Upload Speed: 569 kbps (71.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 19 ms
Jitter: 1 ms

Packet loss....easyyyyy there big fella. Talk in simole terms ! lol
Using the ps4 connection test on the ps4 I was at 33mbps down and 1.2mbps up.

When I did it on my PC using speed test I was at 25/2.2.

jason
21-07-2015, 23:41
Ok , sorry Bud :) I look after the network at work .

We will start with this when you get home

first suggestion is to unplug your modem for 10 seconds restart it then test the speeds again........ Unplug the modem from the power cord on the end that enters the modem (the little jack) . It will reset your IP address. Don't worry nothing will change.
Then we will look at what you have after that . http://www.broadband.com.au/speedtes...FVeTvQodwvEP-A

I just spoke with Telstra. They said that my upload speed was running at max speed from their test. So buggered if I know what's going on.

I don't think this will help you out but my speeds are no where near urs. I get shitty adsl with "turbo" feature from iiNet to make it look like adsl2 but I know it's just another way they get an extra 5 or so dollars from me each month

I'll post up my speeds tonight also Rooz.

Just logged on boys, there's a ps4 system update to download and install. It's only 250mb but it's gonna take a bit of time. So make sure you get in a bit earlier.

Good racing guys, sorry about the track choice but I liked it and if it didn't have the cut corner bugs I think it would be amazing :)

Good racing throughout the field, I didn't notice any big incidents but if you did please use this as constructive feedback time.

I watched the replay and that was really close and cool racing Roozy :)

What did everyone think about the tyre wear at x6? The first race with medium tyres didn't last the distance and the second race with hard tyres I managed until the last lap and a half.

ChrisK

Personally I liked the tyre wear factor. Not for every race, but it was a nice change.
I also really like the gt4's, such a welcome change from gt3 and lmp1's. and I agree, good track if it weren't for the stupid penalties.

Shame we all couldn't make it. Missed subby and bugs.

Don't worry mate I will definitely be there tonight for the enduro and so will farmer. Spewing I couldn't make it last night because I don't mind that track. I thought that the cut corners would catch a few people out because they are pretty severe on that track but sounds like lots of fun was had.

Got close to a half-dozen track penalties in the first race, but learned from that and only got 1 in the reverse grid, but as a result of mechanical failure and an off track excursion. I liked the track. Driven the full Le Sarthe circuit a million times in the Gran Turismo series, but never the Bugatti circuit. Lots of subtle hidden track features that made the laps interesting.

There was a bit of hustle and bustle at the first chicane, but after that it was pretty good. I made a meal of the first race. Track penalties and mistakes turned my 3rd place grid start into second last for most of the race until I eventually ran out of fuel on the second last lap trying to squeeze one in before a splash and dash. Oh well, started first for the reverse grid. Formation lap seemed to be going well until the very last corner as after a few second on the straight and shouting "Green, green, green" I noticed upon watching the replay that the field was spread a little bit. I only had 15 mins of testing before I got the lobby invite so I spent the races on default setup with a reduced fuel load. Soft tires were lasting until lap 6, only becoming skatey on the pit lap, so I just stuck with them and changed at the pit stop. Re-entered the track in 5th. Unfortunately I had a moment in the first downhill right on about lap 8 or 9 and probably damaged the tires, because on lap 10 I blew a rear left, allowing Rooz to overtake me, and finished the race on blue tires with no Force Feedback (I'm calling this a bug: Just because you blow 1 tire, it shouldn't cause all 4 to go instantly blue and you should still have some FFB). For fuel I went 12L and pitted for both fuel and tires at half race distance.

Still, it was a bit of fun and I managed a 1:44.xxx and a bunch of 1:45's during the final stint of race 2 as I started getting my rhythm.

It was really fun last night, well done to all. I think I am going to have to stop picking cars because they look good. The Aston is a sexy car, but not as quick as the Ginetta on that track. I went mediums in the first race and the last 2 laps were a bit hairy due to lack of grip and I lost a few positions.

On the second race I started on mediums and at the pit top changed to softs just to see what who happen. With 4 laps to go I came out of the pits dead last and proceeded to catch those in front of me pretty quickly. Unfortunatley, I only caught tthem in the second half of the last lap. One more lap and I would have been up two or three more places.

In summary: Loved the tyre wear, track was great (except for the penalties a bit too strict), my car choice was poor, I need to practice more and get better, shoulda coulda woulda .... Can't wait until next week.

Really liking NOT driving GT3's as they are the main staple on most other nights.

lol I very nearly caught you twice in one night on the final lap. Some silly errors and penalties on the chase hurt me. A good reminder of why being consistent is so important.
