Why would you get so far and quit?

Because i don't have the option to sit all day next to my PS4 and wait wait wait ..... ! I thought after a hour it normaly must connect. 5hours for updating is long !!!

But maybe i have not told everything good: the 5hours was not for internet buth the Project Cars update !!!!!

You need to get your dial up modem fixed then

You do know it will update without you watching though don't you?

Just let it update. You can play it while its updating. Or let it update while you sleep.

You don't have to babysit it while its updating.

Depending if your PS4 has up to date firmware on it you can pause and resume the downloads if you have too many downloading at once.

Just because you have a uber fast internet connection doesn't mean you'll see that download speed from PSN services. they have a bandwidth speed cap on how much speed each person can use, so that others can also download stuff.

My downloads always go much faster when I put the PS4 in rest mode.

Even then it should not take that long.

I think you might need to run Namebench on your PC to see what DNS servers are nearest to you. After running Namebench, I input the DNS settings it gave me into my PS4, and that sped up my downloads by at least 50%.

Was about to say the same :D Who watches the screen while something is downloading?
Just do or play something else in the meantime.

How is any of that even remotely related to Project Cars?

I can 100% guarantee you new nameservers didn't speed up your downloads. In a web or game download the nameserver, and it will only use the first one unless it's broken, is a maximum of about 500 milliseconds of your download time. Never used again after dowmloading the ip address it needs. And anybody not using googles, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and using aome random ones they found will get problems at some point.

Yes, or pause the download and resume will have the same effect most of the time.
But whatever you do, don't just sit there and wait for it to finish:)

5 hours for an update to download is pretty normal for me.

Don't really see why it's a big deal, it is what it is.

PSN severs are very slow...i download demos/games off of Live in half the time it takes from Sonys servers.

Yep. also, if you have the Download list open, and actually watch the downloads, it slows them to a crawl. I've tested this with multiple downloads with the same result every time.
