Hi guys!

I need some car/track recommendation's for some fun races.

A lot of the time I have to play offline because I need to be able to pause the game if my baby wakes up or whatever so I play a lot of quick race weekends doing 30-40 laps most recently in GT3.

Problem is I tend to stick to the same tracks and I'm starting to get a little bored of the tracks as I can pretty much drive them with my eyes closed now so your recommendation's would be great!

I've been mainly sticking to the F1 tracks so I've raced Monza, Spa, Hockenheim, Imola, Suzuka, Monaco. I've also raced a lot of Laguna Seca and LeMan.

Please don't recommend the ring though. I hate the ring with a passion.

And I'll drive any kind of car as long as it's fun to drive!

Thanks in advance people!!

:D

Zakspeed Capris around Oserchlapphead (or whatever its callrd)

250 Karts around oulteb park (shortest track)

Lmp2 around Imola (my personal favourite)

Mercedes DTM - the modern one - around Hockenheim.

They're all my favorite's.

Could the game do with a "random combo" button?

I really like Brno and it's drivable with just about any car...

Road America is also fun, with a reasonably fast car like GT3. Or try it with the Zakspeed Capri!

I F*ing hate Brno.

Oulton Park in a RuF GT3 or Oreca/Alpine or Radicals.

Brands Hatch/Donnington GP in the Lotus 98T.

BMW 320 and Zakspeed Capri are awesome at most tracks. Try them at Bathurst - more fun than GT3.

I shall :)

MK1 Escort *Anywhere* - Of course, this depends on where your fun/frustration threshold lies.

Seems BRNO is a popular choice! I shall definitely try that one out next time I'm on!

McLaren 12C GT3 at Zolder. BMW 320 anywhere. BMW M1 at Spa (or Zolder). I also like the Clio at the smaller British tracks like Oulton Fosters, Donnington or Snetterton 200.

After obsessing over LMP1's at Le Mans for a while, I've taken a liking to throwing the Audi R8 LMS Ultra around Road America... A good setup with that car at that track is too much fun to be missed.

I also despise the R8 LMS I can't bear the noise it makes (cockpit view).
But Road America is an awesome track and the LMP cars are epic at that track. Haven't run the F1 there if imagine it'd be a little boring.
The Aston Gt3 there is pretty good too.
Here's a left field idea - Formula Rookie at Oscherslieben ;)

The Merc Battleship at Sonoma!

I recently found myself running countless laps at Watkins Glen (Full, with the Boot) in a Formula Gulf, and then a Formula C. Such fun combinations!

Formula A goes great there too... Who am I kidding, Watkins is good with a lawn mower :p

Yeah I like The Glen. 'Tis a fun racetrack. Not tried it with a Formula A though, maybe that's something I could do! :D

Fact. It's a fun, high-speed, flowing track. I also had a blast there in a Palmer-Jag.

Wide track, constant radius corners, same gear speed for most corners. Easy to have a good time there. You can give/take a tap and it will not end the race. No walls to worry about, no chicanes. Just some occasional tyres on the track to avoid.

No I don't like Bathurst. It's one track I really cannot get the hang of, I can never find a good rhythm at that track.

Thanks for all the suggestion guys,I have a list of car & track combos to try out thisweekend when I get back on! :D

I struggle with it too. I really like it but I'm not good on it. I need to just relax and let it flow on the upper section but I'm too tight and tense trying not to hit the walls.

I saw an onboard lap with an Aussie racing driver one time. This guy has probably been around that track thousands of times. He was driving (and passing people) and talking about the track at the same time. He was so relaxed it felt like he should have had a martini in one hand and a cigarette dangling from his lips. I thought to myself if I could only be that relaxed at Bathurst I'd cut 10 seconds off my lap time.

Pro tip: Don't think about the walls (I know, easier said than done). Pretend they're not there and only watch out to hit the apexes correctly.

Here are a few from me, that you coul'd try:

Superkarts @ Cadwell Park:
In the "open" part of the track you must simply believe that you can take those corners at such speeds, while the woodland part is the opposite, you must be very carefull, yet try to be fast. The jump is a pain, being slow enough to not actually jump, yet faster as the guy in your back.
We had serious fun with that :)

Formula Rookie @ Azure Circuit
Since the Formula Rookies are not so fast cars, the roads of Monaco actually feel really wide, and the FRookie tends to drift just a tiny little bit,
that makes this whole race a lot of fun. Turn of damage if you are not a hardcore fan tough :)

Formula Gulf @ Sonoma
The car seems very fast around the track, but you can still drift the car a tiny little bit over the hills.
It was a lot of fun. Also try the Caterham's at sonoma, they are cool too.

Palmer Jaguar @ Zhuhai
Zhuhai is underrated, its a simple, yet fun to drive track, once you learn it, and that is not hard at all.
The Palmer Jaguar is a very good handling car, that you can really enjoy. And its loud as hell.

GR. 5 @ Zolder
Zolder is a very fun track, a bit hard until you don't learn what the fastest line is in the first 4 corners tough.
The Gr. 5 cars are inredible, everyone should try them, they are ...king fast, yet tend to drift a lille.
Makes them interesting in the shicanes. This combo is more for the "hardcore" players, but its serious fun.

Trans-Am Mustang @ Laguna Seca
Ok, this you absolutely NEED to drive in Helmet or cockpit view. Its a completely new challenge.
The car is great to drive, as with a muscle-like car, it tends to slightly oversteer, but ist very enjoyable to drive.
The track is one of the more difficoult tracks in the game, and the combo is for me at least very intense.

Caper Stock Car @ Sakitto International
The car is a blast to drive, but actually really challenging, and the track is tight and twisty, almost like a rally track.
Now driving a stock car, that tends to drift out of tight corners, on a tight and twisty, track is a realy challende, but a very rewarding one.

Mercedes 300SEL (aka. The Pig)@ Nurburgring GP
The car has a lot of torque at low rpm, but is very slow, and the nurburgring suits the car best, if you slightly drift it around the corners.
And drifting that thing around the circuit, is fun :)

BAC Mono, Ariel Atom 300, Caterham R500 @ Dubai Club
The thing is, the Mono is the fastest, yet the hardest to drive, the Atom is the slowest, yet easiest to drive, while the Caterham is understeering a lot.
But, you can lap these cars within 0.3 sec of each other (with default setup at least).

Old Touring Cars - Gr.A @ Ruapuna GP
Added this as a new one, racing the Touring Cars on Ruapuna is a lot of fun, but can be very hard.
The track is actually much harder then you would think, hitting the racing line is very hard, but you can do some rally style cornering in some corners.
Gr.A cars are fun to drive anyway, we had a lot of fun with them there. (just don't use the pits (with patch 2.0, 2.5)

And finally:
Clios or Ginetta G40's or Formula Rookie @ Brands Hatch Indy or Oulton Park Fosters.
Slow cars, with some tricky tracks is always fun :)
