Somewhat of an annoying issue.... During a mixed class (LMP1/LMP2/LMP3) race in quick race mode there always seems to be a handful of AI drivers driving the Palmer Jaguars. That would be fine, except they have no headlights. I don't really like playing with any day to night transitions in quick race because there always seems to be about 3 to 6 blacked out Palmers with no headlights driving around at night (They are just as quick as if they had headlights). Hopefully this gets fixed in an update, by either eliminating the Palmers from multi class, or being able to choose your opponents in quick race.

Or just add headlights to the car. Palmer racing site have some photos of the car with and without it. Must be an optional feature.

I often wondered why the didn't put the one with headlights into the game being that the other cars in that class has headlights

I think it's a licensing issue...

Like what?!

Yes, you can use the car, BUT it can't have headlights!...
Somehow its not really realistic. :)

No, the car has two models, one with and one without headlights, but the most used is the one without it.

You had me at "During a mixed class (LMP1/LMP2/LMP3) race..." I am on XBox One and sure can't figure out how to create a mixed class race with only LMP1/LMP2/LMP3 cars. I would love to do that! Is it possible to do on the PC and/or PS4 versions? If so, I certainly hope that ability comes to the Xbox version soon...

I know there are photos out there which appear to show the car with headlights, but I don't believe they are in use with the schools. Those are likely customer cars.

Yep, their site icon for the car has headlights that turn on when clicked, but that's it. All the other media is without them. Here in Brazil we have one or two second hand Palmers, the one I saw in person has the lights.

When you create a multiclass race and drive an Lmp1 you will get that scenario.

I will have to try that tonight. It's been a while since I setup a multi-class race - probably a patch or two ago - and I remember the race having a mix of many classes (some wanted and some not wanted). I will try tonight with an LMP1 car chosen, since I've been really wanting to race a multi-class race with these LMP cars!

In my case, I'd love to be able to choose which classes would race. Like lmp1,2 and gt3 and 4

If the feature to set up your own proper multi class (LMP1, LMP2, GT3) race never makes it into the game, can you please eliminate the Palmer Jaguars from the LMP1/LMP2 AI cars in quick race mode? I like to set up races with day/night cycles and having the Palmers driving around at night without headlights totally ruins the experience. Or would it be possible to introduce a feature that let's you pick what AI cars you can race against? For example if you are doing an LMP1/LMP2 multi class that is already in the game, would you be able to at least pick what other LMP1/LMP2 cars you can race against?

hi,

How does the multiclass option work ? I do not know if someone can answer me but I wish I knew how the opposing cars are selected when I choose a car? Example, if I choose a GT4, which cars will have the AI (gt4, gt3, TC2...? )
If i choose a transAM which cars will have the AI .... ? and so on
Thanks

ThanksIt ignores classes completely, instead it uses the "car type", i.e. Kart, Prototype, Road, GT, Touring, American Stock and Open-Wheel. When you pick a car and select Multi-Class, it'll fill the grid with cars from underneath the same "type", so by picking Open-Wheels you'll get cars ranging from FA to Lotus 51.

The best example of how it ignores the classes are the BMW 2002 Turbo and the Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback. While the class of both of them is Historic Touring B, they're actually listed under the Road type. So if you pick the 2002 Turbo (not the StanceWorks) you might see a McLaren P1 and a Toyota 86 on the grid together with it. And vice versa, if you pick the Ford Escort Mk.I RS1600 and Multi-Class, you won't see the 2002 Turbo or the Mustang 2+2 Fastback, but you might see the modern Mercedes C-Coupe DTM car, the V8 Supercar, the Clio Cup car and the Megane Trophy V6 car.

So if you pick GT4, you can get anything listed under the GT label, which includes all the vintage GT cars like the Mercedes 300SL and Lotus 40, all the GT1, GT1X, GT3 etc. cars, as well as stuff like the Zakspeed Capri. In short everything under the GT type in the car list. And since Trans-Am cars are listed under GT, you'd get those there as well, the same possibility of opponents for both Trans-Am and GT4.

And since (currently) there's only one car listed under the American Stock car type, even if you pick Multi Class for it you can only get a bunch of Caper Stockcars. The next DLC will add another one in there though.

So I doubt there will be a change to this system because with the current system you couldn't for example remove the JP-LM from the multi-class option (like LM24z asked) unless you made the JP-LM something other than a prototype, and I highly doubt they'd make a 100% new system that uses actual classes to set up a multi-class race.

Okay, I understand better. It is a good thing for the stockcar and prototypes. For the rest, the utility seems very small.
Too bad you can't mix gt (gt4/gt3) and lmp.
Thank you for your very clear answer.
