Hey guys,

I am running 2 980TI EVGA sc+ acx+ in SLI, with 16GB of ram and a Intel Core i7-4770K cpu (OC to 4.4). I am also using nvidia surround to power 3 1440p screens, I am only getting about to get about 80-100FPS (watkins glen day time) if I keep everything at their lowest setting. I am on windows 10, with the latest nvidia driver. Does this sound right? If you need more info please ask I can provide it.

Why would you need any higher than 80fps??

Lots of reasons, a 144hz monitor or maybe just because it should.

I always thought when it came to SLI use you needed to talk to NVIDIA

Plus hasn't it been known for the last 5 years or more that you are way better getting the most expensive single card over SLI because you never get 100% from the second card - 50% if you are lucky

Not true. I often have one card giving 99% and the second giving 98% in PCars.

I run also SLI 2 x GTX 970 and the I7-4770k at 4.6ghz.

At le mans with 55 cars everything on ultra except grass on low and enviroment on high with msaa only at 1920x1200 i se 35-60 fps in thunderstorms at h19.00

The gpus sits at about 50-65% use latest 355.60 and w10.

I recreated this thread on tech support section, and added some stats, I can only get above 60fps when I am on the lowest settings with two 980ti.

That is very low performance for two 980Ti in SLI i think. I got a single 980Ti and three monitors in 5760x1080 pixels (a little bit lower resolution than you) and get a steady 66 fps (v-sync on) in almost every setting in ultra.

You even get this in the rain? I am going to see what I can get at 5760x1080

I do in bezel corrected triple screen res on a single card, maybe drops to 58 sometimes in a thunderstorm.

I tried it out in a solo game at Oulton park international at 18.00 hours with rain. 11 other cars and i got ≈60 fps. Sometimes it was at 66 but could drop to the lowest at ≈52 fps for a short period of time.

Can you post a screenshot of your settings, your setup looks similar to mine. I can't seem to get near that.

What hertz are your monitors working at? If it is 60 Hz monitors, there is no point of going over 60 fps as you will get screen tearing. The monitor will not be able to draw the picture in the same speed as the graphics card is delivering and then you get sync-issues.
In that case you should use v-sync.

A fps-counter may tell you that it is 80-100 fps but because of the sync-problem with the monitors (if it is 60 hz) it will not visually be that smooth.

Turn detailed grass off and you will see some better fps! It takes huge amount of GPU and you will not miss the details of the grass very much.
I see you run at 59 hz, that means you got 60 hz monitors. See my previous post about enabling v-sync otherwise you probably get screen tearing and not very smooth graphics.

OP posted the same topic in two forums.. bad form.

So I have a similar setup, and I'm getting 60+ FPS with most settings ultra (including grass) and DS4 AA. I also get a constant 98+% utilization on both GPUs. I suggest making sure you're using driver 355.60 and set the power management mode to prefer maximum performance in the nvidia control panel.

Yeah I created it in the wrong place, sorry. Can you post your settings, I want to make sure I can try the same setup.

My frame rate is fine in SLI, but the overall graphics suck. Glad that rig is for the occasional guest...

Biggest frame rate killers in the rain at night are:

Reflections. Drop them to medium, you'll see a big improvement from that alone.
Shadows. Lots of light sources at night. Drop this to medium too
Environment. Set this to High... or potentially medium.

Detailed Grass: Off. You can't see it in the dark and rain anyway.

With those main settings, I get a minimum framerate of 58fps at Spa, in a thunderstorm at night with car headlights on and 24 cars on track. Actually around 45fps going through eu rouge immediately after the race start. After that not lower than 58fps.

My AA is MSAA and FXAA low combined with DSR downsampling from Nvidia. 3149*1920 scaled down to my 2560*1440p display with 33% smoothing.
