Hello everyone and welcome to the World C.A.R.S. Championship for the month of September.

From this month onward we will have a second Race Day on Sunday. Drivers from Monday feel free to sign up for Sundays as well, as there's still some spots left.
The rules and everything else we have introduced so far will also count for the Sunday races, so read the things below very carefully.
Since this is the first Sunday season, be certain that there are going to be quite a few incidents during the first few races. The new participants will have to get used to our standards of fairness and clean driving at the beginning, so keep that in mind and be nice to each other - Mistakes can happen, but try your best to race clean :)
Everyone has to get used to each other, so give it a little time. And if you feel like you got to know each other better, you can already start to form teams for next month.

If anything changes during the month (cars, tracks etc.) l will inform you in posts.
So please make sure to visit the forum regularly to avoid misunderstandings.
And dont forget about the NEW! symbol.

NEW! feature overview:

Rules

Extended World C.A.R.S. Rule Sheet - Click! (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LRJgtx_3OyyK4Gevsl13shOV_MzcKCECw6vP8bQaohU/edit)

- Biggest rule: Respect other Drivers, race clean, leave room, be patient and keep in mind that you dont win a race in the first corner.
- Deliberate ramming will be punished, also if you keep using your opponents as brakes to overtake them.

- If you got rammed off or similar, save the replay and put it in here as evidence.
- We all know there are many corners and especially chicanes that can be cut, but please keep the corner cutting to a minimum.
- If you cant make it to an event, please let the Host know in time, so you can be marked () as missing excused. Until then everyone will stay signed up () for all events.
- Fairness comes before victory.
- Please take a photo of the race results, so we can double check everyone's position, in case the game decides to screw us over. Saving your Replay might help as well!

Day of the Event

- There will be a long practice session on the Sunday before the race if DLC content is being used.

- l will create a lobby 10 minutes before the actual start (i.e. 7.50pm CEST)

- It will be much appreciated if you join through my PSN Profile, because it can happen that the game freezes on you while inviting.

- A break of 5 minutes between the races. NEW!

- Invitations will still go out from me,please accept them as soon as possible.

- Dont invite other players by yourselves, to avoid chaos and randoms that are not listed for the championship

- HAVE FUN! :)

The new mandatory pitstops are gonna be so awesome! :) As long as they work. If they don't well we'll get more drama anyway. :p But they should work. :)

Really great schedules, both of them. :) I'm looking forward to Sakitto and Circuit de Spa especially, I missed out last race we had on Spa and don't want to miss again that's for sure. :) I'd really like to sign up for Sundays too but with my schedule I think only have time to prepare properly for one of the championships not both. But maybe I'll race on Sundays too occasionally if it is allowed and there's a vacancy. :) It's hard to pass it up. :)

I must say again that I'm really impressed by your work Pink in hosting this championship and to Chig also for co-hosting. You've forged this championship into a league of its own, and within the confines of what the game Project Cars can give us, this championship is more than worthy of its name. Thank you Pink. :)

I have a question.

Do we have compete in qualy to enter the race?

It would just be easier for me to just enter the race and start from the back.

I'd likely be starting from there anyway as I very much doubt I'll have time to practice at each track and perfect a setup.

Not sure if people know how much work it is.

Not sure why you would want to skip qualy.
If you think you would start from the back anyway, then why not just enter qualifying? :)
It could be 'dangerous' for the other drivers if you just started a race without ANY practice prior.

MrFlibble81
24-08-2015, 21:37
Because it's unlikely I'll have time to practice or take part in qualy. I've told you from the beginning my time is limited.

I haven't practiced for any races I've done. Only time I play is when Pink does the practice races the night before, even then I missed last nights 1 so had 0 practice with cars I've never driven

I've had to set up something similiar to this in the past, so yeah it's definitely not easy and requires a lot of work and attention to detail. Thank you guys for setting this up. Very well done and very organized as well. I also wanted to say I wish I could do Monday's because that calendar looks a lot more appealing to me

Quick Update:

Sunday races will be a bit shorter than those on Monday.
And the last race of the month has changed. Instead of the Formula B, we will be racing with the BMW 320 Touring Car, which came with the latest DLC - lots of fun to drive tbh and can provide nice door-to-door battles :)

Duration of the Races

- Monday: 95 - 105 Minutes
(2 Qualifyings (15 Minutes) + 2 Races (30 - 35 Minutes))

- Sunday: 75 - 85 Minutes
(2 Qualifyings (15 Minutes) + 2 Races (20 - 25 Minutes))

- Special Events can vary in their duration, most likely taking longer than usual.

I signed up for Sunday.

But not really sure I like the pitstops. They were so buggy in the past, that I simply stopped trying using them. And to be honest, have no clue yet how to set this up, and apparently have only next weekend to find out...

IMO, I vote to drop the pitstops, or at least not in every race...

Ah I see, the best or nothing. ;)

Hah :p I am feeling better about my performance this week I think. :) I'm much more used to Monza and RA and that's helped a lot, just got to keep practicing though, this group of drivers are quite good after all and they'll be doing the same. :)

Also forgot to say I think Monza and Road America are two tracks that compliment each other well, that was a good choice. :)

:D l really like seeing you guys trying to figure out what cars are the best.
I think there's no ONE correct choice for Monday, every car has its strenghts, but one car has an obvious weakness though

Yeah I usually use the one most people prefer as a starting point when I test each car.

My final choice always comes down to personal preference though. I quite liked the Lancer around Monza so I think I'm likely to use that unless one of the others is substantially better :).

ColdMetalRacing
03-09-2015, 16:53
So are those two the quickest then do you think? Only tried the Mitsubishi Lancer so far - hoping to try the rest tonight.

I haven't tried any yet, but looking at the specs of each car on paper, the lancer and the R8 seem like the best bet.

l can tell you the A1 is a blast to drive around Oulton Park! :D The only thing l did so far was to toy around with the pressures and stiffen the suspension a bit.

Havent practiced much for the first race yet, but every one of the 3 cars seems to have strengths and weaknesses, the Caterham for example is very fast, but difficult to keep on track, whereas the Ariel is easier to drive, but slightly slower.

As for times, l did a 1:54 around Oulton in the Audi :p

From what I remember of driving those cars I'd definitely recommend going with the BAC Mono.

All depends on driving style of course, but it seems to me that it would be easier to be consistent over a full race with the Mono.

As to the 3-car choice: I love to drive the Caterham, have spent many hours on this car (and the superlight) on various tracks. But agree that it requires a lot of discipline! Is easy to get of the track, and even easier during race where the chances of contact with other drivers increase.

I've improved my best times for both tracks, my pace seems okay or good now, I think from this point in practice for me it's mainly going to be about nailing down the consistency lap for lap through repetition. I have a feeling the general best lap times for each driver will be closer this Monday than it normally has been so consistency will really be key, and with Monza that's extra challenging. Should be fun. :)

First off, 4th place isn't bad considering I hadn't practiced all week. Secondly, wow that was crazy. So many cars a lap down. They did a decent job of pulling to the side for the most part. Thirdly, two costly time penalties most likely cost me a solid podium. Lastly, Diesel. That was one hell of a battle dude. Side by side on the last lap. Almost had ya! Then I got my 2nd dumb time penalty on the last corner before the chicane lol

Ok Oulton was bad for back markers. I got spun out by someone who was on their outlap while I was on my flying. Unacceptable. Then during the race, the same guy forced me off track as I was lapping him, he also made it difficult for the guy behind me in 6th.

Besides that, I gradually got faster the more laps I did. I was lapping 2 seconds faster with more fuel and badly worn tires (especially from spinning twice) than I was in qualifying. Would have been interesting battling for podium spots with you guys. Maybe next week when I'll actually be able to practice beforehand so mistakes like that won't happen.

PureMalt77
06-09-2015, 19:56
Donington: I had no pace AT ALL, and really tried to give space. Had a spin in the last chicane before the starting line and saw the leaders coming on the HUD, was not sure what to do to not mess up, so I reseted the car, and saw the leaders passing by while I was a ghost. In advance, really sorry for that, not sure it this was better or staying in the middle of the track...

Oulton: middle field for me really, only 7th, maybe potential to 5th wasn't some mistakes.

Generic: Yes, was not a total fair race at times. I've got good and decent fights, some contacts could be avoided, but with the Audi is easier to handle. The cars for the first race are not easy to drive, very prone to mistakes IMO.

And during qualifying, PLEASE, take some space from the car in front! In both races I was touched during qualifying. Even if you can drive faster and is in your hot lap, think that the slower guy in front is ALSO in a hot lap. Fully agree to give space if my lap is compromised.

But with that said, I didn't practice at all this time and still finished in the top 5 both races with a chance at podium finishes. Some people learn the car and track faster than others. Some of the group do this until this day. Never understood why everyone is running in a queue in qualifying

Very pleased with the win at Donington, but not so pleased with some of the maneuvers. Got pushed off the track and bumped off the track, yet people think its okay to do that. No, its not!

The race at Oulton was maybe one of the best l've ever had on Project Cars. :)
11 laps full of intensity, battles and overtakings! Thanks to Linnuke, Diesel and RacingKid for that, remarkable! :D
Also got held up on the penultimate lap - will have a word with the guy and hope he will improve on that.

Going into the last lap, l knew that l hadnt set a fast lap time yet, so l wanted to go for a last try and screwed up in the second chicane, which cost me the 2nd place :(

Race 2 was much better and quieter from me got pole and put in consitant good laps and got the win

Evening all, hope you all had fun out there :)

Donington: Qualified P2 in a tight session, made an OK start and stayed 2nd out of T1, then I took the lead half-way round after Drushan made a mistake. I led for quite a few laps, but Drushan was closing the gap and putting pressure on me and around Lap 9, he passed me with a good move around the outside. I stayed close and at the final chicane tucked in behind hoping to draft pass on the straight, but a lag spike meant a ghost Drushan hit me from behind at light speed, so I ended up near the pit entrance spinning around, dropping me to P4. I slowly began to catch up and moved back to P2 after Pink/Drushan came together. Around Lap 12/13, Pidgey had an incident with a backmarker, I looked to take advantage, but I was tagged on the rear by the backmarker rejoining, forcing me onto the grass and also getting a penalty. For the remaining laps, I had a very good battle with ColdMetal for P3, he was close at all times and was really close to passing me too, but I just managed to hang on. :D

Oulton: Qualified P4 after a scruffy lap. A bad start dropped me to P5 behind ColdMetal, but we moved up to P3/4 after Pink ran wide. At the final corner, I was close behind and went for an overtake, but I outbraked myself and forced us both wide, dropping us behind Pink. We both closed the gap to her and Linnuke and we were having a good 4 car battle until ColdMetal unfortunately lost it, and I had to take evasive action to miss him. The rest of the race was a thrilling battle between the remaining three, all of us so close together. I managed to slip past Pink when she ran wide at the hairpin and Linnuke made a small mistake, promoting me to P2. A few laps later, I also made a mistake at the chicane promoting Linnuke back to P2. I then touched the grass braking into T1, dropping me to P4. I managed to get P3 back after another small mistake by Linnuke, and decided to settle for 3rd as Pink was too far up the road, until she had a mistake at the chicane, so after all that action, I took P2. :D

Congrats to Pink and Pidgey on their wins and the people I battled with for the good, clean racing. :D

Also got held up on the penultimate lap - will have a word with the guy and hope he will improve on that.

As did the rest of us. The guy with the red car right? I don't have names displayed above cars because I find that distracting so I didn't know who it was. But yeah same guy who intentionally spun me on my flying lap during qualifying. It's like he was driving angry out there

But everyone else did a fine job of giving enough room. So my compliments to them :)

Didn't send the whole message.
Had a good battle with diesel pidgey and pink for first the lead was always changing. Few mistakes towards the end and a slow backmarker let pink get the win. Had a look at the replay pink I braked to late my bad. Happens to us all. Happy with second.
Second race was woeful qualified 5th went backwards from there never had the pace. Had a good battle the last 3 laps with someone for 7th good racing.Great win pidgey really had the pace it that yoke.
Roll on monza and road America less bumpy tomorrow night

Well first race night for a while and first on project cars, it was good fun to be back i was happy with my qualifying place for race 1. I found that the time i set and the pace i had meant i was a little on my own but that wasnt the case as i messed up the start and got penalized for a jump start sadly and dropped to the back, but not for long as i pushed on hard and made the places back. Just a quick sorry to the guy in the areil atom when came round the outside at craner curves i was on the outside curb and couldn't move any further over or i would have sorrymy rear wheel cliped your front wheel.

Did a bit more practice for tomorrow & improved a bit:

Monza - 2:04.3
Road America - 2:21.7

Really enjoyed practicing at Road America but I'm not confident about the race. I highly doubt I can make the tires last a whole race with x2 wear, so I reckon I will need to make a stop at some point - & who knows what the hell I will get with that! :(

Was also messing around with some different camera angles & loved this one in the Lancer, so I thought I'd do a quick video:

Yeah it was about 1.5 to 2 seconds slower than my quickest lap I think. Wasn't really going for times at this point, just experimenting with different camera angles.

Loved this one because the all-round visibility for an interior view was quite good, but I definitely couldn't be as competitive lap-time wise as I can be using my normal hood-cam.

Aarrgghh! Last time I checked (when I asked the question the other day) post 1 still said it was x2.

Have tuned both of my settings to look after the tires as much as possible, so I will probably have about an hour before the race tomorrow to start from scratch :(.

Absolutely disgusted. I don't know who to be more upset at. The guy that forced me to cut the first chicane, or the game for giving me an OUTRAGEOUS 10 SECOND TIME PENALTY for doing so. Now I know how Kimi felt yesterday as he watched all the cars drive by him at the start. Unfortunately that's just the beginning.

The number of drivers who forced me off track as I was making my way back up the field was simply stunning. Easily could have recovered to finish in the top 3 if it weren't for the God awful driving of those in mid pack. I mean words just don't do it justice. A video will surely be upcoming. Then to top it all off, I had to coast the whole last lap to save enough fuel to finish the race because of being forced to push way too hard trying to make up ground during the entire race. My left front tire was completely gone on lap 11 although I was able to lap a second faster than my qualifying time.

I thought I had signed up for friendly clean racing, and the opposite took place today. Damn, I hate sounding like this too. It's just a game after all.

I just have a lot of learning yet to do and this was a good learning experience for me, both races. :) Thanks for the good races everyone. :)

Review:

Monza
Qualifying sucked big time. Got traffic half way around my first flying lap so it wasn't quick, so decided to box to see if I could get myself some space. Unfortunately came out amongst a load of other cars so lost time on my 2nd flying lap. At the start of my 3rd quick lap I overtook a slower car going into the 1st chicane, who obviously wasn't pleased about it so rammed me off into the gravel :(. Didn't have time to re-fuel for another lap so had to make do with a crap position (8th or 9th, can't remember).

Got probably the best start I've ever had on this game though and was running in 2nd going into the lesmos. But then got bumped off at the 2nd lesmo by zenga. Luckily I got the places I lost back when he and pidgey came together at Ascari. For the rest of the race I traded positions with a few people, mostly running in 2nd. Pink put the pressure on as my front left tire gave up the will to live in the last 2 laps, but ultimately managed to hang on to 2nd. Pleased with that considering qualifying :).

Road America
Again, qualifying sucked. Just didn't manage to get a traffic & mistake-free lap, so again qualified in 8th or 9th (can't remember that one either haha). Managed to get up to about 4th by the end of the 2nd lap, but my pace just disappeared completely when the sun set. Was really struggling to see the braking points into some corners & dropped to about 6th/7th. Eventually my pace came back & worked my way up to 4th again as others made mistakes, but a few laps from the end I allowed delta back through when I ran wide at the end of the 2nd sector. Managed to keep the pressure on by doing my 2 fastest laps in the last 2 laps, and eventually he made a mistake just before the end to give me 4th place back.

Good racing guys (mostly) & congrats to the winners :).

Yeah I watched the replay like 25 times from every angle, and thought about it for awhile after I cooled down. What happened was I out broke you going into the corner, I had the advantage turning in, it looks like you tried to make up for braking early as you let off the brakes and slid up the inside into the corner forcing us wide. Honestly, if I was in your shoes, I would have saw that I had the advantage going into the corner and would have continued braking to avoid going up the inside. But with that said, I think I was more upset about the fact I got a 10 second time penalty for that. That just screams "this game is super broken." It's even more frustrating that I had one of the fastest cars out there, looking to have a good battle with the top 3. It's just super disappointing. I'm working on uploading a video.

And l dont think you're in a position to judge.
Maybe put it in perspective, it was a race on Monza with road cars, incidents were predicted.
And if it wasnt for the glued cars in this game, people could go through a corner side by side without problems.
No need to say such a thing, even if you're frustrated.

Sorry about the connection issues in Race 1 and keeping you all waiting for Race 2 everyone, I do apologize :)

Monza: Qualified P4. A bad start dropped me to 7th going into the first chicane. Going into Lesmo 2, I was side by side with BVB and looked to pass him, but we touched and got glued together, dropping us down the order (Sorry BVB). I managed to work my way back up to 5th position and was behind Zengu. Me and him traded positions over the next few laps, the Evo quicker on the straights, the 1M better on the brakes and cornering. Again going into Lesmo 2, I tried to pass on the inside again, but it ended up in the same result as last time, costing us both time, and allowing Pidgey through. I managed to catch up to the battle between Chig/Pink/Pidgey and stayed close behind. Pidgey tried to dive up the inside of Pink, they collided and I emerged after unfortunate contact with Pidgey into P4. I was looking to engage with the other two for P2, but my issues meant whenever I got close they started jumping wildly, meaning on the main straight after losing a position to Pidgey, his car suddenly stopped and I "hit" his car, dropping me way back and ending my challenge, but P5 was good considering. :)

RA: Really didn't expect the R8 to be so slow compared to the SLS, so P10 was the best I could do. The race however went much better than I could have hoped. An incident between GTPZ/Matungwa moved me up to P8 and Mantu spinning put me P7. I dropped back to P10 after the quicker SLS's behind passed me. I had a good battle with Matungwa for a few laps until a mistake by him, putting me P9, and was only a few seconds behind Pidgey/GTPZ/Drushan. As the night came, I noticed I was starting to close the gap to the group in front. I moved up to P8 after Pidgey hit the wall and then P6 with 2 laps to go after GTPZ/Drushan both outbraked themselves. GTPZ kept pressure on on the last lap, but I was able to hold him off and for a better last corner, may have just passed Delta for P5, but I was really happy with P6. :D

Congrats to Drushan and Zengu on the wins and everyone else for the "mostly" clean, close racing. :)

I don't know Pink, it should run it lag free for the most part, but today was another level of bad, I was scared to go close to anyone really in Race 1 in case it started teleporting cars and I took someone off, with my incident Pidgey's car teleported really far up the straight and then came to a dead stop in front of me before continuing so I came to a complete stop :(. That being said, I did use a LAN cable for Race 2 and it was lag-free :D. So I may use that from now on.

I enjoyed both races tonight regardless, the Evo did have the legs on the 1M, but it was faster through the corners to balance it ;) Mixing it in the midfield in Race 2 against much faster cars was brilliant, really enjoyed that. :D

Yeah! 6th place was very impressive with the slower Audi :)
I'll keep the BMW vs Lancer in mind for future races as well. They match quite well.

It didnt sound like it. To me it sounded exactly how you wrote it.
And l dont think you're in a position to judge.
Maybe put it in perspective, it was a race on Monza with road cars, incidents were predicted.
And if it wasnt for the glued cars in this game, people could go through a corner side by side without problems.
No need to say such a thing, even if you're frustrated. Ha, put it in this perspective. I know everything there is to know about this track. Sounds like a ridiculous claim to make I know but I've been watching all kinds of racing at Monza for the past 15 years. I've seen it all. Not only that, but I've raced here on several different games. The amount of laps I've put in on this track is through the roof. I'd say at least the amount of laps of all other tracks I've raced on combined. I've completed the 24 hour race at Monza on GTR2..in real time. Simply put, I know how to race this track. I put in a lot of time and effort with the Evo most of the week getting that superb setup. Yes, the game is at fault for giving me an unjustifiable time penalty. But the fact still remains that I was forced into that position and it easily could have been avoided. However, I still felt confident in my abilities to make up ground. As I attempted to do so, I encountered drivers that performed the same errors that really bad AI has done to me in the past. Sure, it's road cars, of course there'll be contact, of course the glueing effect will take place, but when they force themselves up the inside taking you off track with them, that's driver error, not the game. Not really surprising either when in replay you can easily tell who the controller "tappers" are. But it is what it is.

Dude, you're not doing yourself any favours.

I've watched the first two laps from your perspective, and pidgey had at least half of his car alongside you going into the first corner, yet you turned in & took the corner as if he wasn't there. I'd say it was a racing incident, but if anyone was to blame I certainly wouldn't say it was him.

As a bit of a hint - you tried almost the exact same manoeuvre as pidgey on someone at the start of the second lap in the exact same place, they managed to stay on the track, but you have absolutely no room for complaint when you're doing the same thing to other people.

Just relax, so you had a poor result at your favourite track - it's not the end of the world.

Funny you should say that, because I have been called Mr. Monza before by some of the best drivers I've raced with on GTR2. Not really cockiness, when you can back it up and have proven yourself in the past.

As far as errors go, I'm human not a robot. Doesn't matter how good you are, you're gonna make a few errors when you're pushing trying to make up ground.

Also I did 3 laps in qualifying. None of them were perfect. However I did lap a second faster than my qualifying time during the race with severely worn tires and more fuel. Your point is invalid.

l'm actually very disappointed by your behaviour. Its nothing new that the first chicane at Monza means trouble. But its very sad that you let the frustrated part of you talk. All this drama because of a racing incident? Why?
Everyone tries their best - some more, some less - but why would you turn yourself against the group, only because of a silly incident and an unjustified 10 second penalty?
Especially because your behaviour wasnt good either, and TBRH, l havent seen that many incidents so far, that involved you that were the fault of someone else.

So l've just finished watching your replay and to my surprise l counted exactly ZERO incidents where someone took you out or even remotely had something to do with your bad race.

Here's what l saw, please correct me if something is wrong:

- You had a racing incident in T1 Lap 1 with Pidgey - avoidable if you had given a bit more room, avoidable if the game wouldnt glue cars to each other. 10 second penalty: None of the drivers fault.

- During your 10 second penalty you remained very close to the racing line, instead of staying all the way to the left, being a danger to the following cars and causing Pidgey and another driver to crash into, or because of you.

- T1 Lap 2, you used Fastback as a brake going into the chicane and bumped him a second time at the exit.

- Same lap, Lesmo 2, you touched Fastback's rear although he clearly kept his line, glueing the both of you together and forcing both wide.

- After recovering from this, you went very slow, someone was about to overtake you with a lot more momentum, still you switch to the racing line in the last second blocking that guy.

- Lap 4 or 5, you outbraked yourself going into Parabolica, almost taking someone out and earning yourself a cut track penalty.

- Lap 9 or 10, you squeeze SuperBVB to the inside of Curva Grande, although you had 4 or 5 meters space to your left, forcing him onto the curb and as a result you both went wide. And after recoverihg from it, again very slow, you claim the racing line again, almost taking someone out.

- Last lap, you went very slow, letting everyone pass for no apparent reason.

Now l would like to see that video of yours where the others were driving SO DIRTY that it left you 'disgusted'.

Second race really struggled to keep her under control qualified mid pack had a little touch from someone at turn 1 nice late dive. got up to 6 ish for a bit but got caught out by delta and pink braking into turn one nearly hit ye both just missed ye was a close one got a penalty for the corner cut and just went backwards after that got tough as the night came. Not sure the name who won but good win was it the first night racing in the lobby.
It's gonna be a close championship this month. Good racing guys you coming back sprocket?

Wow where to begin? All of that is completely wrong. First of all, you weren't driving my car so what in the hell gives you the right to make such outrageous claims? T1 with pidgey, I out broke him. I had the advantage. I was already turning into the corner when he snook up the inside. I would have continued braking in his shoes and let the car in front take the racing line into the chicane every damn time.

During my 10 second penalty, I tried to stay out of everyone's way like I normally do. Probably was a little distracted by the timer and lost track of where I was but I didn't drift into the racing line and Pidgey hit me out of retaliation after he flashed his lights at me. Pidgey had a penalty too and took the same line I did.

The next lap, no I did not use him as my brakes. I had the inside line and was on the brakes all the way from the 200 yard marker which is earlier than I normally brake. We touched going into the corner, nothing wrong there as it was unavoidable, as far as the contact in the middle of the chicane, he was running wide so I tried to cut back the inside but clipped his bumper. I thought I had enough room to make the maneuver but it was hard to judge from my chase cam.

Same lap, second lesmo. That is complete bs and you know it. I was on his outside and he knew it. Under pressure, he out broke himself and pushed wide taking me with him. Yeah my car turned into the corner slightly but that's how my car is setup when I brake. After that incident, we rejoined the track, both slow but I was faster. I was going to pass on his outside when he suddenly moved over to BLOCK ME, so I quickly reacted to miss him not knowing a faster car was that close behind. Then he tried to wreck me. Not sure if you caught that or not.

Lap 4 or 5 at the parabolica. No I did not outbreak myself. The car in front broke early for no apparent reason and I had to react which screwed up my line. I was super close behind when he hit the breaks so I had very little time to avoid running into the back of him. I should have been on his inside and I would have been fine.

Curva Grande. Wow. You need your eyes checked. He was tapping his controller the whole time that's why he lost control, not because I squeezed him too much. It was very obvious.

Last lap, like I said. I had no fuel. I wasn't aware of how much fuel I had until it started flashing and I realized that I had to coast in order to complete the race. I didn't under fuel my car either. I always go 1 up on the projected laps.

Video is up.

Your review is unjust. I'm sorry but you looked into it like you were against me from the start which blurred your vision.

Actually l have the right to judge incidents, as l organize and am in charge of this championship. Plus a helpful driver with better english skills and l created a rule sheet, so be certain that l know very well what is allowed and is not.

Was there a reason why you were using the dynamic camera angles in your video? Everyone and their mother knows that you cant tell who was at fault with these angles. And where was the incident with Fastback in the first chicane? Found no camera angle that make you look good? I'll upload a video tomorrow only to prove my point.

Very very sad that you cant admit your own faults when others clearly see them. Thats a bad character trade.

I can't race on mondays, but following closely this entire discussion.

IMHO, after looking at the video, I see as a race incident and both drivers equally have a part in it.
In proper racing you should make that turn together, side by side (just watch last F1 race start and you will see!).
ColdMetal drove the "best line", ignoring the driver on his side, and I think you should have opened the curve wide. Pidgey could not turn sharp in the apex. Unfortunately only 1 driver was penalized by the game. This is how I see it. As we say in german: pech gehabt.

At the end of the day remember the most important: this is just a game guys! Cool down, open a beer and relax (OK, perhaps too early for a beer, maybe later on...) :very_drunk:

Before making my 1st "season" here, I drove a while with the guys from vrroom.org.
Not making ad, just sharing my experience racing with them:

a) they "interview" new drivers, via what they call the Induction Nights, to evaluate your driving skills. You don't need to be fast, but race-aware. One of the tests was to drive a Ginetta around Oulton Park the entire track, side-by-side, without (or with only minimum) contact, not necessarily at racing speed, but not cruising either. 2 laps, one time in the right hand side, another on the left. Maybe this is why they want people with wheels. Not saying someone cannot drive fast with the DS4, but requires more practice in order to make turns with a constant radius.
b) there a chat open in the lobby, where the moderator will always remind, especially new drivers, the usual: give space when qualifying, open up if being lapped, take care in the first corner, have patience, bla bla bla. Qualifying and Race everyone goes mute.
c) the moderator usually do not race, only spectates and function as a race marshal.

Of course they are a bigger group, own web-site etc, so there is no comparison. What Pink is making here is amazing and deserves respect. Of course Pink wants to race with us and not just spectate. But perhaps for future championships, the idea of a small interview/test and a chat could help (if time allows).
I would also organize the events as: Practice + Qualifying + Race 1 + Race 2, so you still get 2 races, and a bit of practice to warm up. For last Sunday I did spend some time practicing to not arrive "cold". There are drivers out there which can jump in any car/track and perform, but that is not my case.

Oh, and answering a sure coming question: why am I here and not with them?
They run their races too late, 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET. Usually 3 races of practice/quali/race, making it until midnight. Their current leagues spawns over August-September, so was just no go for me as right now I just cannot give all that commitment. They do have some interesting stuff, like events with hands-on car tuning. In nightly events the leaders share their setups during practice and the first corner discussion happening here is usually solved directly after the race over the chat with the involved drivers.

1. As far as I'm aware, Pink does do a test race with new drivers when possible.

2. Again, as far as I'm aware, the first month followed the format of Practice + Qualifying + Race 1 + Race 2. As there was no qualifying for race 2 it was giving the host an unfair advantage as they are placed on pole if there is no qualifying. It was also causing problems with faster drivers being held up trying to get past slower drivers in the middle of the grid.

3. The calendar is published well in advance so that everyone can practice, in which case there is little point having a practice session beforehand. There's no excuse for turning up 'cold' - everyone has at least a week to become familiar with braking points etc.

4. We've had very few problems with driving standards until this month. Not saying it is all down to the new drivers, but introducing a load of new drivers all at once was always going to be difficult. It only takes one weed to ruin the garden.

5. A website was actually half-way finished, but didn't come to fruition for other reasons.

4. We've had very few problems with driving standards until this month. Not saying it is all down to the new drivers, but introducing a load of new drivers all at once was always going to be difficult. It only takes one weed to ruin the garden.
Well said chig. Nearly the same incident happened between myself and pink sunday night I went a bit later on the brakes and we touched while she was in first I.had a look at the replay and said my bad. But to still be moaning about it the today when everyone taught it was a racing incident is just petty. you really could have taking the first corner a little wider since you knew he was up the inside and pidgey could have braked a bit more maybe. I've never had any problems with anyone up towards the front in this lobby everybody seems like a really fair and clean driver. If its ones down for next week so be it you seem like a good driver but really can't take

217668. On a different note since we have the mk1 escorts Monday night I taught I'd show my dads m1 rs2000. Just love the old escorts it's the closest I'll get to drive it Monday night.haha

@chig: of topic question, since you have also have a T300RS, would you mind sharing your FFB settings?
You can PM me, so we don't mess up the thread, or perhaps post it in this one: http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?37548-Post-3-0-T300-wheel-settings-post-you-preferred-settings
We have a "highly scientific research" going on about all various FFB settings in this thread! ;)

Anyone else using the T300RS feel free to share as well...

Right now l dont need help with hosting the two events on Monday and Sunday, but if you want to help, you could be in charge of posting the Sunday results here if you want and also think about future races and then tell me :)
Thanks for your offer and thanks for the kind words :)

1. As far as I'm aware, Pink does do a test race with new drivers when possible.

Haha yea, if the people actually add me that is. The last 2 or 3 that showed interest havent added me after l suggested them to do so :p

Very true!

4. We've had very few problems with driving standards until this month. Not saying it is all down to the new drivers, but introducing a load of new drivers all at once was always going to be difficult. It only takes one weed to ruin the garden.

Yes, we've had a few 'minor' discussions - mostly about incidents with cars that are very difficult to drive or to overtake with (Open-Wheelers, Road Cars) - But we've had no one that attacked almost the entire group for driving 'god awful', even though most of the incidents were his fault. And besides that fact, these incidents werent even THAT bad, so no reason for calling others like that.
l apologize to everyone for introducing that sad person to our group!

Sure, I can post the results of the Sunday races. Can't promise to do it in the same night, but they will land here the day after max!
Future races: sure, I think we can discuss together the pros and cons of different formats, point system, duration and so on...

BTW: I'm off to Brazil in October for 3,5 weeks, but can race again in November. As they say in Game of Thrones: the winter is coming, and is going to be a long one! ;)

I thought the 2 races format uses your 2 best hot laps, so you need to put in 2 good flying laps to be on the top, maybe I'm mistaken. If that is the case, the qualifying could be a bit longer to allow more chance for the people to land a clean lap.

No idea - I didn't compete in the first month, I just remember it being discussed around the time I joined.

I know your two best laps count in single player but not sure if this carries over to multiplayer.

So, as you can see Zunge (German for Tongue :p) and Fastback have formed a team. l think that'll work fairly well.

The other thing you can see is that a lot of drivers were missing this week, so l'm asking you guys to ask some of your friends that play Project Cars if they are interested in joining our championship. We need people that want to race every week.
Its not fun and very disappointing when people 'forget' or rather play other games when its race day.
So please ask around and hopefully we can have 2 groups consisting of regular drivers soon :)

PS: Very tight in the Monday standings

Any reason behind this point system? I just think the podium places, furthermore winning the race should get some reward. If someone is leading by just 3 points in the last race, he won't bother to compete if 4th place is enough. You just drive enough to bring it home... but maybe you have a different point of view. I do like the bonuses, I think pole + fastest lap should get it.

l'm not sure if l understand what you mean.
We have a qualifying for both races and the best qualifying lap gets pole
Or what do you mean...?

I mean, you can have a single qualifying event valid for 2 races, as chig mentioned, it does work in career mode, so if the game offers a 2 race option, I would assume it works in multiplayer as well.
In career, you even get different time of the day, but of course must be same car/track.
In this mode, your best lap will count for the 1st race, and your 2nd best lap is used for the 2nd race. Anyway, for the current format I think is not valid, since the championship is kinda short and you want a bigger mix of tracks/cars, so I guess we can drop it.

chig88
08-09-2015, 18:07
@PureMalt - yeah that would be the big downside. It would mean having to do both races at the same track & with the same car. Would be a bit dull.

Well last night was interesting..race1 was a good and bad race first off had some great battles with some..iv already shared my view on turn1 at the start with the king so il move on had good fun making my way up positions good track for overtaking i made stupid mistakes and kept dropping back and working up again..pink sorry at ascari i was breaking and tried to avoid hitting so i tried going over the kerb bounced me into you..finished 4th so wasn't a bad come back

Race2 well that was just poor from me lack of testing meant i didnt realise how cold tires get at night was like been on ice from lap 7 on..i also made some funny mistakes whilst sunday driving towards the end...roll on next week and well done to the winners..im only happy for drushan_87 because he is my team mate 😃..also he was sickened i got him for fastest lap at monza even though he beat me by well.......a long way..... 420petrolheads

Hey there QPRLad!
It is okay if you're generally interested in joining as a regular driver and you want to use this Sunday to see if you like it :)
We are not looking for one-offs :p

I'm more than happy to stay put once accepted. Unless I'm more like max chiton and just making up the numbers! I had a look at the up coming events and used the group 5 around Zhuhai. Although does it have to be the BMW or can it be the Ford Zakspeed beast? The only group 5 I could find was the ford until I saw the above post from The Russian.
