I thought I know how the smoke generator works, When temps are closing to 140C engine starts puffing smoke.
Well... today I did 25 lap race RUF RGT-8 @ Derby. Without any major collisions car started puffing at about 10th lap on high revs and temps 101/107C. Without any failures I managed to finish the race. So I'm back to the guessing... what causes the puffs?

I usually get the smoke puffs around the 101/107 range in most cars. Don't recall getting anywhere near the 140 mark. Really the 90-100 range should be N.O.T. for most cars I would think (though I'm not a race engine expert).

You should tell it to quit. It might get cancer.
