Hey everyone....kind of new to Project CARS just had some questions about the tiers in career mode and what cars are used where. I started many new careers just to see what first cars I would be given.

Tiers 8 and 7 - simple karting

Tier 6 - again simple...Formula Rookie and Touring cars

Tier 5 - simple once again Formula Gulf and GT5

Tier 4 - Formula C, GT4 and.....PROTOTYPE 1??? What are those? When I tried that class I was given a Prototype 2 car??

Tier 3 - Formula B, GT3 and PROTOTYPE 2.....ok...but I was given a Prototype 2 above??

Tier 2 - Formula A, LMP2.....Endurance...when I tried that I was given a GT4 car (does Endurance feature any car type?)

Tier 1 - LMP1

Now I have all car DLC up to this point. I'm not motorsport savy (I just play the games). Here's my questions
-What are Prototype 1's?
-Does Endurance feature any car from any class?
-Are road cars featured at all in career?
-I have some cars listed under weird groups....GR.C, GR.A, GR.5, GR.4 - where do those cars fit in here?
-What does LMP900 mean?

Basically I'm trying to rank them by class....like Forza (don't shoot me)

Basically I'm trying to rank them by class....like Forza (don't shoot me)

So in Tier 4 Prototype 1 is street legal (trackday) prototype cars.

In tier 3 you get LMP 2 which is Lemans Prototype cars, these are none street legal full race prepped cars.

In Tier 2 Endurance is a Mixed class racing series. You have LMP1, LMP2, GT3, and, GT4 however when you start a career you only get a LMP2 and GT4 contract.

Tier 1 is LMP1 which are faster LMP2 cars...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Road cars and "weird group cars" are invitation only events. You need to finish races to earn these events. (And you'll get them fast and thick for winning races)

LMP 900 are LMP1 cars from 1999-2003 (I think). These can be driven in invite races too...

Good luck, have fun, and keep off the grass, it's bad for your health...

There are plenty of road car events that Pop up during karting. I've done BMW 1M and Ruf RGT-8 events.
Weird groups you say...? *loads gun*
Son, those weird groups are some of the most epic racing categories of the last 30 years!

You can't really rank them like Forza. Different rules/regulations/technology made different cars.

Group C (Sauber C9) were wild 400+ kmh Le Mans racing prototypes. LMP900 (Audi R8, BMW V12 LMR and Bentley Speed 8) are the predecessors to modern LMP1 and the last generation before diesels hit the grid (Audi R10 TDI). Almost as fast as modern LMP1.

Group 5 are sort of like modern DTM, but with epic turbo engines and aero. Similar in the sense they have extreme aero kits, tube frame chassis. Just a little slower than GT3.

Google that s* son... These are cars made and raced by real men with hair on their chests and proper moustaches.

As I said....I'm not really a motorsport fan! Don't shoot me!! I am googling as we speak. And yeah....these are some bad ass cars. WOW.
Thanks for your help!
Project CARS is way better than Forza 6 (so far)
I just wish it had some kind of economy!

Economy is an illusion and a means to slavery.
Real race car drivers don't just race for money. They want to be the fastest in the baddest motherf* race cars.

To me that's one of the greatest advantages PCars has over Forza & Gran Turismo, no credits, no xp, no grinding to unlock stuff, PCars focuses on proper racing. There's a really good career mode but it's optional, I don't have to spend time unlocking stuff, I can simply go to solo mode and drive any car at any track from the start.

Can anyone tell me how to unlock Nordschleife 12 HR GT Endurance in the career?

I see that race unlocking an invitational but I don't see it in any career series.

The best is, I once unlocked it somehow (before my save got erased after one of many game crashes) but now, along with Vintage GT TransAm Cobra, it's the last one I'm missing in the career.

Winning the Nords 12hr event unlocks the Vintage GT TransAm Cobra Cup. It's a career event so it doesn't need to be unlocked but I don't know what you have to do get into those endurance events (Rising Sun 6hr, Starlight Glen 6hr, etc.)
