Project Cars is awesome, but if you are using the default settings for force feedback, you are playing with a turd. There are so many weird settings no one understands, and the default settings SUCK.

i've been playing for months with the default settings, and today I tried new settings and guess what?

MY CAR IS ACTUALLY DRIVABLE. WOW. LIKE A REAL CAR.

It wasn't easy to find a good tutorial, I tried at least 3 but this one really made a huge difference.

DEVs, can you also watch the tutorial and redo your default settings????

Don't ignore this comment. I spent an hour studying this video and I didn't want to, but I did. Don't make everyone else go through this, please next patch redo all the settings please. For those interested in getting their money's worth out of their steering controller, here's the link to the tutorial (watch the whole thing):

Project Cars Calibration Tips and Tricks (http://www.isrtv.com/pc-racing/project-cars-force-feedback-tips-and-settings/)

This applies to consoles and PCs and all steering controllers! (shame on you Devs!)

If you haven't done a thorough tinkering to the force feedback settings for your G27 or what have you, then you are not experiencing the game as it should be.

I no longer skid around the track like a fish tailing bafoon, I attack those curves with confidence, downshift and intuitively control my skids. AWESOME.

Yes. Thank me!

If you already have seen this, there are many who have no idea that they are playing with bad settings and it really does affect gameplay. Devs? ummm, new default settings please!

"Shame on you devs" are you serious?

Maybe do a search next time before you come and make a post insulting the community and developers on your 4th post in the forums.

bManiac has been working on Project Cars FFB now for 2+ years..

Or, he thinks he does ;)

Anyway yes your post comes off a little weird, and it seems true that you haven't read any of the forum posts and stickies. You won't even BELIEVE the amount of time, effort and dedication that a lot of forum people have put in, tuning the FFB and trying to understand its settings.

Anyhow, it's great that you are happy with your new settings, over time you will begin to fiddle with them again hehehe.

The problem I have is I've never found a specific G27 guide that simply says "You set the settings exactly like this.."
It's always "You could do this" and "You might want to do that" and "This might not fully work on a G27" etc.

I'm not fussed about knowing what settings do and stuff, I just want to know what I should set it all to for the most realistic FFB - Something no guide I've found yet does :)

I ll agree with you on the presets, they re not good enough. They should have a team of people trying out stocks wheels (there are not that many on the market anyway), people that have driven a few of those cars (because obviously you would need professional drivers giving you feedback on a lot of these cars) and know what those forces would feel like. And then we can play with the settings to our liking. The 2 presets provided are very generic in my opinion, but at least are a starting point.

I don't think his point came across very clearly. Far from insulting the community, he is just saying this is how it should have been done in the first place by the game developers. If you have a complex system, it goes without saying that you should write a manual or make a video explaining how to use it. The fact that we have lots of users trying to make sense of the FFB system and thousands of pages speculating on what does what just proves his point. That shouldn't have been necessary; we should all be racing, not tweaking.

The problem is, with the exception of some obvious stuff (eg. clipping/no clipping on telemetry screen), there are quite a few opinions on "the most realistic FFB" amongst people playing this sim.

For me, the most "jaw dropping" change was when I went thru and did the whole Linear Calibration thing. I mean, WOW! did that make a difference! :O
I used both tools described/listed in this post, but found Force Curve Modifier easier to use and understand.

Boring most people who have a life just want to play the game not sit for 6 hours like a big saddo fiddling away with sliders. Forza plays great out the box. There should be decent settings straight off and the option to fiddle if u want.

I dont really need any Controllers other then my keyboard<3:) i mean comon, the best way to ram someone and cause Chain collision is being able to change the direction of where the car is heading in a fast and possibly randomish way.
