Extended World C.A.R.S. Rule Sheet - READ HERE!

- Biggest rule: Respect other Drivers, race clean, leave room, be patient and keep in mind that you dont win a race in the first corner.

- Deliberate ramming will be punished, also if you keep using your opponents as brakes to overtake them.

- If you got rammed off or similar, save the replay and put it in here as evidence.

- Fairness comes before victory.

- Please take a photo of the race results, so we can double check everyone's position, in case the game decides to screw us over. Saving your Replay might help as well!

Day of the Event

- There will be a long practice session on the Sunday before the race if DLC content is being used.

- l will create a lobby 10 minutes before the actual start (i.e. 7.50pm CEST)

- It will be much appreciated if you join through my PSN Profile, because it can happen that the game freezes on you while inviting.

- A break of 5 minutes between the races.

- Invitations will still go out from me,please accept them as soon as possible.

- Dont invite other players by yourselves, to avoid chaos and randoms that are not listed for the championship

- HAVE FUN! :)

Nice calendar - looking forward to the Time Trial especially :).

Thanks! :)
l like the calendar too, it kind of has a theme to it :p

Yea, l'm excited about it too, cant wait to compare the times when everyone has plenty of time to set a lap.
Its a great opportunity for those who arent the fastest in 15 or 30 minutes of quali and race.

Really loved the idea, so l implemented it :)

PS: Who is honestly disappointed that l disabled TC? :culpability:

Traction Control [OFF] NEW!
(Available, not forced)

That second line gets me kinda confused :apathy:

But no TC is good news, I haven't used it in this game anyway

And the calendar looks sweet, it's going to be exciting month :encouragement:

I like just about EVERYTHING!
The only thing that makes me sad is that I can't race with you this month. But I will be back in November :)

Time Trial: what an excellent idea! Everybody, same conditions, as much time as you want... Perfect!
Assists: I'm for disabling everything! But I agree that for non-wheel drivers should be almost impossible...
I also love the Mechanical Damage. This will bring more realism and avoid the impossible car setups (fully closed radiator for example). So, let blow some engines!!!
If there is anything else I would bring in would be forced Cockpit View.

Nice work Pink! :D

A little, but it's not a big deal. I have it off when I'm doing career mode & stuff, but I turned it on so I could compete with you speed demons :). I'll probably be a second a lap slower, but hopefully can adjust.

Small question - is it still off when we drive cars that have TC in real life? Like GT3?

Ah good :).

It's been on/off depending on how much I'm struggling :D. Would prefer ABS & SC to be off as well but I understand it might be hard with a controller with the brakes locking etc.

Wow, amazing work and changes this month! I really love the website! :D Having our very own profile with all of those stats and history recorded right on the site is so cool, and having the highlights available right on the site is sure to encourage others to upload theirs more often as well. :) The site also looks very clean and professional on top of it, very very nice, great job. :)

I think having Traction Control disabled and Mechanical Failure enabled was two prudent choices as well, no more impossible setups for cars and with TC disabled more than ever consistency is going to play an important factor in who performs well, as it should be imo. :) I also really love the new Time Trials, I can already picture the Mclaren MP4 cruising through California Highway over and over, just trying to set that perfect time against those on the leaderboard. It's going to be so awesome! :)

As for which week I'm looking forward to most it's definitely the Ruf on Monza and Imola, I am so excited for that one. :) The spirit of Mr. Monza be with us all. :p Great calender this month. :)

You've really outdone yourself this month Pink, every time I think the championship can't get any better, you've somehow raised the bar and made it even better and more fun. :) This month in particular really looks to be amazing. Thank you for the hard work!! :) Can't wait to compete again. Also I should say thank you to Pure Malt for your contributions towards the championship and to Chig as well. :)

I really hope enough drivers form teams so we can continue the team championship though. ;) This championship deserves it and it's fun. :)

PS: I'm glad you'll be competing Chig. :)

PureMalt77

I dont understand a single word.

This is about a feature that until now only the PC guys could use: 3rd party telemetry / motec apps.
Here some example of such apps: http://www.projectcarsgame.com/apps.html

In the PC, such apps can read the in-game data out of the Shared Memory. But we, poor console users, don't have such a feature.
This guy, Tim Mann, is the console lead developer, and he managed an agreement with Sony/Microsoft to implement this game feature. Basically, once activated in the settings, the game will stream this data via UDP in a port in your local network, and any 3rd party app can listen to this live data.

The new calendar has some good races I saw monza straight away and just laughed no fun without the king himself. Great work on this month pink and anyone else that helped. New dlc soon enough some new tracks and cars are needed.

Unless they do something about the track, no, sorry.
3 cars and an offline-only track are not appealing to me unfortunately.

PLEASE READ ME. Dear friends, i bought the DLC and I have bad news and good news.
Good news: The track is great, have 5 or 6 layouts and can be used online. The vintage Aston is great. A little soft but is a great one for me.
Bad news: The tracks don't have a pit stop.
Pink was online and I made two lobbys only to show her the tracks and cars. She liked a lot one of the layouts (can't remember the name). So, in my way to think, we have two ways to use this:
1- We can do a race only for half points because we can't do a qualify and host always be in first place;
2- We can use the track only to time trial.
In 2 cases, everyone have to buy the DLC, or else you won't be able to change the setup of the car. And you only be able to do time trial if you have the content. In online race, only the host has to have the content. Everyone will buy it? Any ideas?

Ah, I was going to practice for the first round only to find both the 2002 turbo and Ruapuna (which I knew about) are DLC. It makes practice of any kind a little difficult for me. Because of my time zone, it's unreasonable of me to expect you to organise practice to suit me but choice of vehicle and track is something that can be suited to everybody. I'm not requesting a change right now but perhaps it is something to think about in future series'.

I need a lot of practice and I wanted to practice everyday. It's just a little annoying that I need to buy DLC if I want to be properly competitive. I've still yet to see any reason why I should pay the ridiculous prices for Project CARS DLC as I was pretty unhappy with what we got in the first place. As far as I'm concerned (and this is only an opinion) all that is available as paid DLC now, should have shipped with the game in the first place.

Rip's Rant over. Sorry team :p

Are the DLC layouts available in Time Trial mode? If so then at least that would be one possibility for using it as part of the championship - obviously depends on everybody buying it though :/

There is another way to possibly do a race on one of these tracks fairly, but it would be so complicated & difficult to organise I won't even suggest it :).

we have the calendar set up, wait for some kind of fix or something and decided towards the end of October to include them in November. The cars however interest me more than the track, so ill purchase this when im next online. which unfortunately is looking quite a long way away :(

I think the prices were fair, until the latest DLC arrived.
But not to include DLC into the calendar would also be a bit unfair towards those who bought them, and l think there are more that bought them. And the game already offers a very limited selection of cars, as you said, so its only logical to use DLC cars gor variety's sake.

I know you want to practice a lot, and as l said, l will gladly create a lobby for you to do so, its a thing of 2 minutes, as l can leave the lobby once the track has loaded :)
Just PM me on PSN and l'll create a lobby. No big deal :p

Today the PS4's Firmware Update 3.0 has arrived and with it some cool improvements.

For example you can add the WCC Group to your favourites and then when you create a lobby, you can invite everyone at once from there.
Thats pretty awesome and will save me a lot of time in the future. So please stay in there :)

It also features something called "Communities". I created one and invited you guys, we'll see if it offers any advantages.
What it does at the very least though, you can quickly see who of the group is online and maybe meet up for practice sessions, fun races etc.
Hope you dont mind :)

Suggest it please.
I think l have an idea of what you have in mind :)

My idea is below, although it's rife for exploitation & would probably be more trouble than it's worth to organise.

1. We each set our fastest lap in time trial during the week before the race
2. Someone goes through the leaderboards the day before & puts the times in order to make the 'grid'
3. The qualifying grid is posted in this thread, or on PSN
4. We use the first lap of the race to get into the position we know we're meant to be in. No racing or cheating - honour system! You would just need to ensure that your position number in your HUD is the position you qualified in.
5. We start racing once through the first corner of the 2nd lap. I'd say the 1st corner instead of the start line just to avoid people pinching positions as we go over the line :p

Alternatively the time trial element could be eliminated & just use a reverse grid of the championship standings at that point.

Seems like it would be a lot of hassle to do though, so I suppose it depends how good the tracks are? I don't know because I haven't had a chance to try them yet.

Would you guys like to simulate this procedure before our 1st race of October?
I would post a grid and then we'll see how it works. (I can also post the grid in the new community, this way you can just press the PS-Button on your controller and you can quickly see your starting position.
(Also good for those who arent in the forum as often)

I stiffened the car up a bit and changed the camber angles slightly and bought my time down to 1.29.426 by the end of the session. I did think about fiddling with the brakes but wasn't sure if it would shave off enough time. I'll definitely give it a go though. Thanks :) If I can shave off another 2 seconds, I'll be well chuffed.

Good afternoon Pink, I tried to PM you but your inbox is full. I was thinking about the qualifying in races without pits. I have two ideas:

1- We use the order of times made in California Highway or any special events;
2- We set the race without pits to be the last of the calendar. To "qualify", we use average position in the entire championship. In the case of a tie, it may be decided by the number of "better positions".

What do you think?

Yea l think the idea with reversed championship positions is good and should make it interesting.
But the problem we have is, we can only do races on the track online, so for those who dont have the DLC it will be very difficult to practice. You cant adjust the setups during races you know :p

Did a bit of practice for Sunday (first time I've played the game in almost 2 weeks - forgot how much fun it can be :)).

Managed 1:27.1 with the BMW 2002, but it wasn't a pleasant experience unfortunately. The FFB in this car is a mess & the wheel seems to be trying to rip my thumbs off, so I've had to dial it right down which isn't ideal :(.

Did 1:26.2 with the M3 & had a lot of fun - it's a really nice car to drive. I seem to remember testing it for the GT4 race we did in July & not liking it, so not sure what's happened there! I only used the default setup so I'm confident I can get into the mid 1:25s once I sort my own setup, but I'm a bit worried about the tire wear. I only did 10 laps & the front right was already 2/3rds worn - anyone else having this problem or is it just the default setup?

Pink_650S
01-10-2015, 21:24
Yea, both races will be hard on the tires, but on different sides :D
I havent found a way to counter this yet, but l think its inevitable. We'll see if the mechanical failures actually translate to the tyre wear as well. I'm not sure.

It is with great regret that I must inform the team of my departure from this championship this month or, at the very least, this week. I've only been a participating member for a month and was really hoping to make this a long term friendship with everyone involved but my financial situation dictates that I must take what's offered. I hope you all understand.

However, this is not a farewell forever. I've no intention to join any other group, whether it suits my time zone or not. I remain committed to this well organised championship and all of my new, like-minded friends.

Unfortunately, in the southern part of Australia, we've entered, what we call, Summer time which involves us putting our clocks an hour forward (apparently, to make the most of the extra sunlight we get....??? Electricity has been around for well over one hundred years now. I'm sure we can make do in the dark). If it wasn't for that, I'd be able race but, as it stands, if I were able to race both races, I'd finish at least 45 minutes later than when I needed to leave for work.

As I've said, I'm still committed to this awesome team. With work, it means that I can finally finish getting my licence (I've never had one.... It's a long story.... much like this one, it seems :p) and I'll cut my travel time down by over an hour which leaves me plenty of time to compete.

I will let you all know if I can compete for the rest of this month but, as is, I'm out for tonight :(

I'm very sorry all but, most of all, I'm sorry Pink.... for the short notice (it was short notice for me too) but, mostly, for the dick around. I never intended to be this unreliable :(

Qualified P2, very close between Me, Linny and Pidgey! :D First lap jostled with Pidgey for P2, he got me at the hairpin and we chased after Linny. Us three were very close together, battling for the lead, it was a fantastic battle! However, on Lap 8/9 I believe, we encountered backmarkers in the final sector, and at the last turn, Pidgey and itzhipno collided and both went off, I'd have to say itzhipno was at fault for not letting us pass. Anyway, it was now me and Linny for the lead, I kept the pressure on him and with 2 laps to go, we were neck and neck! On the final lap, I attempted a pass around the outside of Turn 1and pulled it off! Exiting the hairpin, Linny got a better run and managed to outdrag me into the chicane and re pass me. I looked for any gap to get pass, but he defended really well and he held on for the win. Really great race, congrats Linny :p

Good tracks and cars tonight

Race1 went well for the most of it..qualified 3rd and was happy to see the times so close the race itself started off good for me was battling with linny and diesel which was really good all 3 seemed to be within a few tenths..i got up to 1st and for a few laps until we caught backmarkers and well for some reason the backmarker dived up my inside in the last turn and that cost me the lead and a great chance of winning very unhappy about it as this aint the 1st time...but 3rd was okay regardless

Race2 went well for me qualified on pole but it was again very close..made a good start and pulled a gap to superbvb and then pink..i made 1 mistake into turn1 on lap 7 our 8 which left pink catch back up but my pace was consintant and decent so managed to pull away..backmarkers in this race where very good i must say much better

Well done to the race1 winner

In Snetterton I had great battles with Superbvb and Chig!! Chig was side by side with me in last lap and we tried to do the chicane like this...grass for everybody. I guees would be smarter from my part to brake earlier and expect and error from Chig. That's why I let him pass. Sorry Chig, you're the man!!!
About Ruapuna, I just have one thing to say: my worst performance ever!!! I was a backmarker :cower:. Thanks Russian for the dispute in Ruapuna.

l had 2 enjoyable races tonight, people, thanks! :)

Really couldnt achieve the times at Snetterton l did earlier this week when we were practicing. l was 0.5 secs off my usual times, no idea what happened there :(
Was okay with P4 and had an okay start, Mantu overtook me in T1 - we were 3 cars wide, but everyone let enough space for the other to survive, awesome stuff! :D

ln Lap 2 or 3 Chig made a risky move on me in the fast left-hander and ran wide, which left me with a bad angle for the sharp right turn. l managed to get it still, but had a bad exit, tried to defend my position to BVB l think it was and ran slightly wide in the following right-hander and totally lost the rear of my car - it just snapped from one moment to the other :/ Ended up in P8 or 9 l think (In a pack with Wiurka and Linnuke).
l made my way up to the 4th position though, after some nice battles between Chig, BVB, Mantu, Grijo and me. Very entertaining all the way through :)

During Qualifying for the 2nd race l tried to beat Pidgey great lap, but couldnt quite get him.
Was off to a not-so-okay start, had to let BVB pass, had a little battle with him for 2 laps until he decided to let me by. l think he doesnt like being under pressure ;)
From there on it was race against Pidgey, but l just couldnt catch him, l made too many little mistakes in the dark which all summed up and at the end l was 8 seconds behind him - also suffered a little downshift bug as well, but overall he was unbeatable tonight.

Hope you guys enjoyed. l did! :)
Also nice to see that no one had their game crashed!

Hhhmmmm that's what I wanna know as well, cos if u on about that door rubbing that sent us both off at the hairpin, then I don't think I have anything to answer to! As I was on the inside just before corner i missed brake point and ran to outside where i stayed for rest of corner, when u hit me the front of your car was just level with my mirror and u was just pushing me out of track! I thought the outcome was fair and u was letting me go before you.

Race 1: During qualifing I was tapped on chicane at Montreal corner, I was on the start of a pretty good hot lap according to my timing but I lost speed due to someone tapping me, can't remember who it was but they then pulled up on straight n were flashing lights till I passed. In race for some reason my car was on grid in gear which I didn't notice n I got a drive through for jump start! At end of 1st lap nervoso went wide on corner n came back on knocking me away from corner so lost more time trying not to get some sort of penalty. Fought my way back up a couple of places, kept out of trouble etc. As 1 of the slower drivers in the championship I know I'm not going to be pulling any trees up!

Race 2: Had a good race n battles with a few drivers and apart from the above mentioned incident with grijo kept myself to myself, only had 2 cut track penalties in the last few laps through a lack of concentration spoiled my race and finishing position.

Well done everyone especially to the podium finishers :)

Thanks for your vote Pink, you made me happy!!! Thanks for the compliment too!! I don't think i deserve it but it's great to hear that. Ruapuna, well, racing at night for me it's complicated due my vision problem. I use glass but still it's not a great one. An for night racing I use some reference points to guide me. Ruapuna almost don't have references. And my setup and skills stinks too ;). Let's go to next races!!! By the way, congrats to the winners. I forgot that, I was very frustrated about my results.

Now for my race summary. :) In the first race I set a pretty good time in qualifying for my standards this week on Snetterton and was 7th on the grid. I got off to an okay start but after a couple slight mistakes and somehow shifting into neutral as I was exiting the first corner I found myself in last position already. I was able to gain a few positions over the opening lap though and was 12th after lap one. Over the next few laps I found myself in a three way battle for 10th place with Wiewierka, Bubbs, and TheRussian. :) Eventually I was able to make my way to 10th position. The rest of the race was a back and forth battle between Linnuke and I, our pace was very close to each other but he was more consistent and eventually he finished 9th and I 10th. I'm a little disappointed with my pace and consistency on Snetterton this week but it was a very enjoyable race. :)

Race two I had a little better qualifying and was in 6th position on the grid to start. I got off to an okay start on lap one and held my position at 6th place. The first handful of laps became a battle for 5th position with Mantu just in front of me. I would gain on him quite close but then fall back a bit, back and forth. Eventually I think it was Chig and Linnuke made a mistake in front of us and we both passed through so I moved up to 4th position. After a mistake by Mantu I think upon exiting the first corner I moved up to 3rd position, with SuperBvb behind. By now I became a bit nervous and it was intense. :p The rest of the race was a back and forth battle between Superbvb and I. I had slightly faster pace and was building a bit of a lead when I somehow just spun out around the apex of the final corner, seemed like a glitch to me but Idk could've been just tyres lost grip due to wear. :p So Super passed me but I was gaining on him again and eventually he ran a little wide on the second to the last corner and incurred a time penalty allowing me to pass. It wasn't long though before I got a 5 second time penalty of my own for running a little wide upon exiting the first corner. Pretty harsh penalty I thought but oh well I probably deserved it. Super passed me again and with only 3-4 laps to go it became very intense with me getting closer and closer and applying pressure going into the final lap of the race. Superbvb ended up braking too late into the first corner of the last lap allowing me to pass and I held on to finish 3rd. Great battle Superbvb, you were very fair and it was intense and fun. :)

My driver of race one is Linnuke for not giving up and racing fairly and more consistently than I. :) My driver od race two has to be SuperBvb for again not giving up and forcing me to race my very best. :)

My Drivers of the Race were:
Race 1: Grijo, because he raced fair and fast.
Race 2: Delta, because he got his 2nd consecutive podium and his 3rd overall. Well done! :)

Thanks! :) Haha yeah I was pretty nervous but I did try to use the experience of finishing third last week to help calm me and keep me more focused, and I think it did. :)

I should inform you now that next week I will not be able to participate I'm afraid. :( My brother is visiting this Sunday and I'll be taking the rare opportunity to go golfing together with him and my dad. Have fun competing everyone though! :)

Wasn't being rough, was just putting my side of story over, the way you wrote it in your report made it sound really bad. Don't want anyone's points, I finished where I finished end of, I suggest next time you write something like that you also write whether you want it investigated or not. Good racing my friend, don't mind a bit of door rubbing, it's just racing incidents, it's all the deliberate stuff like using as a brake on corners or slamming brakes on! Look forward to next week!

I always have fun when racing, yeah was a bit cheesed off in qualifying but hey ho on we go, like I said not 1 of fastest in championship and not pulling trees up but I enjoy racing defo, just shows me how much I need to improve and work towards that! I feel I have improved already, just struggle to get anywhere near the top speed of each car, I'll get there. :)

Two poor races for me - had a lot of incidents (most with a particular backmarker in 3 out of the 4 sessions) which put a bit of a black cloud over last night TBH :(. I think only one of them was clearly my fault so I want to apologise to superbvb for Ruapuna - I locked up & bumped you off so I let you back through. Sorry man :(.

Snetterton
Average qualifying really - just couldn't manage to get a traffic free lap & even my quickest lap was affected by someone coming out of the pits straight in front of me. Looking at the times though I think I lost maybe 2 grid places at maximum so not too bad.

The race was very difficult - had some decent pace in the early laps & managed to move up to about 4th/5th at one point but then my race just fell to bits. Glued to other cars twice while overtaking into the hairpin (both clean moves until the exit when the opposing car clipped my rear end & we glued and went off). Ended up in 8th behind mantu, superbvb & grijo. Got past mantu when he got a cut-track & managed to fight past superbvb & grijo entering the last lap. Not sure what happened going into the fast left but by the sounds of it grijo & I came together & both went off. I got a cut track penalty for it so grijo & superbvb got by. I caught grijo by the end of the lap & went for the overtake on the inside of the long right hander, but the backmarker I mentioned decided he wanted to get involved & sandwiched me between him & grijo. No idea why.

Grijo very kindly let me back through on the last straight (thanks man :)) so I finished 6th. Think overall 4th/5th would've been very possible so a bit disappointed.

Ruapuna
The start of qualifying was not good. Came out of the pits behind Mr Backmarker who was going very slowly but was intent on not letting me past. I tried to back off to create some room - so he backed off as well! Attempted to do a quick lap but his presence ruined it at the 1st corner so I had to pit to get some space. Ended up qualifying 3rd after diesel disconnected (that sucks dude - sorry about that :() which wasn't too bad. Didn't do the times I was doing in practice but never mind.

Got a decent start & challenged pink, but superbvb got an excellent start and passed both of us. Eventually we both got back past & started to pull away in 3rd. But then the night came & my pace evaporated (as usual). My eyes are not good at all & racing at night is very difficult. I got a cut track penalty because I couldn't see one of the corners & superbvb got past, eventually along with delta & mantu. I followed them closely, but then we came across Mr Backmarker. He made it difficult for them to get through but they eventually did on the inside of the hairpin. I followed the backmarker through the hairpin.... and he flat-out slammed his brakes on right in front of me. Completely stupid driving. Lost a load of time to the other three so my race was pretty much over. Eventually got back in front of mantu when he spun at the first corner & finished 5th. Again, disappointing because my pace could maybe have got a podium.

Driver of the Race Votes
Snetterton - Linny. Nowhere near him in the race but his qualifying lap was super quick & sounds like a deserved win.
Ruapuna - wiewiurka. Moved out of the way quickly & intelligently when being lapped - a good example for others.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words. I'm really disappointed to have missed this mornings races, they seemed super fun and I think I was in for a couple of top tens after my practising.

Congratulations to the winners this week and I'm super stoked that you got full lobbies for both races :D

I will be practising as much as I can this week. After talking with my new boss, I may be able to start afternoon shifts next week. If that is the case, I'll have plenty of time to race! I'll know for sure by Wednesday.

P.S. This job is really good (pay, not so much but I'll take enjoyment over money any day) and my new boss is really understanding. He was impressed by my work ethic and was more than happy to negotiate a shift that would suit me :) I can not express how pleased I am that I may be able to do both race with whom I want and work doing what I want :D So chuffed. Update soon.

Entirely off topic, but a little advice if I may Rip?

Hang on to that job like a f**king life raft. I'm in the exact opposite situation (decent money but hate the work & a boss who makes Saddam Hussein look like a stand-up guy), and I can tell you right now I'd happily swap it for less money & happiness if I could. Money is not important - quality of life is!

Really nice to hear that you've found something that makes you happy - long may it continue :).

Thats why we do this after all. Points, leaderboards etc. are just a gimmick to make things more interesting.

Me again.Wasnt finished. Two great races.I am very pleased with my results this week.Hell , this league is so good.So i fought some intensive battles in both races.Lost most of them, but it was fun pur.Hey,pink, one thing.I love to be under pressure. But in this situation , i was not in the mode to hold your pace.So i decided to let you and chig to pass me easily .Battles are good, but not every battles must be fought !!And in the other race i had a intensive battle with delta. That was so great man.I passed him,he passed me,again i passed him.And then the little idiot superbvb69 make a big mistake.Lost totally controll in first corner, because my tyres are fucked up.Very good race delta, your my favorite for the best driver in ruapuna. We will do it again!!!!Congrats to te drivers on podium.I finish with greetings and solution to all drivers who fought with honor and respect,

l'm glad you had fun.
You did very well this week, so close to the podium! :)

But no worries, I will be back in November :D

Please dont forget the Time Trial.
Only 2 times have been set so far.
You dont want to miss out on the bonus points! :)

If you have already set a time with the McLaren, make sure to take a screenshot of your time with the RGT-8 and then post it in the WCC Community. Slower times than your record wont be displayed in the in-game leaderboards and so l wont be able to see them.

Some updates for you guys, so you know whats going on.

- Fastback is on vacation and will miss the next race as well.
- QPRLad (Ben) missed yesterday's race, but he was excused.
- L_Heron rather played the Need For Speed Beta.
- Nervoso might be joining our group and will replace someone else.
- l asked Bubbs to join us, but his workshifts do not allow him to.
- Itzhipno, if you want to continue, please work on your race awareness, yesterday was not acceptable.

Have a great day all! Dismissed. :D

Okay okay. :(
l must say though that the headlights of all cars in this game are pretty bad.
Even the LMP headlights maybe only shine 20 - 30 meters far -.-

l will leave the evening races as they are though :)
If you can remember Brands Hatch with the GT4s, thats how bright / dark it should be for those evening races.

Edit: Tweaked the two Ford races that were supposed to take place at night.
Only for you Nightphobia guys :p
But l agree, it can get very dark with these headlights.

chig88
05-10-2015, 13:53
Thanks Pink :). I remember Brands Hatch & don't think that was much of a problem so hopefully will be okay again :).

Yeah the headlights suck, although it was quite nice at Ruapuna seeing all of the cars coming the other way once you go through the hairpin - just a shame that they don't light the track up enough when driving :(.

Russian, I want to say Iīm sorry about my behaviour with you the other day. I was rude and for me this was unacceptable from my part. I was very frustrated about my performance in Ruapuna. Total lack of awareness, bad setup, tons of cut track penalties, horrible qualifying...and the only person who screwed my race was myself. Not justifying here, only explaining. That said, please man, forgive me about my behaviour. Iīm really sorry. Maybe Chig is wrong, Iīm not a good guy...but Iīm trying

Yea l dont know either.
It looks like they went for very fast and risky runs and still managed to get a clean lap.
The slightest contact with the wall or a centimeter too much on the grass and the lap gets invalidated.
So its a very thin line between doing a very fast lap and getting your lap invalidated on the last kilometer, which is very frustrating D:

l will give it a more in-depth go this weekend :)

Yeah cheers chig, was really loose for me though, and I had an invalid time that was 15 secs slower than my original time :)

Yeah I'd expect it to TBH. If he's made that setup based on what the real life car feels like as it says in the description, then I'd imagine it is a very 'safe' setup designed to stop idiots in the real car pushing too hard & ending up wrapped around a tree :D.

Not tried it myself yet (been feeling shit this week :(), but I imagine the default can be improved a lot by tuning out the horrible understeer all of the RUFs seem to have.

Grijo
07-10-2015, 10:44
In my opinion, setup it's a personal thing because some people will prefer a little oversteer. Others will find easier to control the car with understeer. Some others will adjust for a more neutral behaviour. I think the important thing is learn how to do it. And that's the difficult part...I'm still fighting to learn.

chig88
07-10-2015, 11:26
For those suffering with disconnection problems during the races (blue screen errors etc) apparently backing up your profile, deleting the game and then re-installing it is helping some people.

Might not work for everyone but maybe worth a try.

In the car setup for the RUF in my game the traction control slip is locked :/. Bug?

Anyone got times for Monza? Fastest so far is 1:54.3, which I'm assuming is horribly slow because the car was all over the place :(.

Also, are we maybe doing pitstops for this race? Max fuel says enough for 13.9 laps (I know this is usually not so accurate though ;)).

Haha I got a bit fed up with trying to sort the setup - seem to have a setup for Monza that is at least driveable, but obviously it doesn't work for California Highway. Haven't got the patience at the moment to sort it out. Me and this car just don't mix.

Yeah if you like understeer followed by unpredictable snap-oversteer .

It's been fun for me. :) But yeah the car has weird and a bit difficult handling for sure. I think it's the challenge of working with such a car on California Highway and somehow getting the best out of it that's fun. :) Really hoping I can nail down a decent or good time before the 14th.

So my solid lap times with full tanks were:

Road RUF - Monza 1.57

Gt3 RUF - Imola 1.47

Gt3 is a bit steadier into corners but suffers a bit from understeer.
The road car was over steering like mad and is so bad under brakes the back end wants to come around.
1.54 is decent Chigg.

Been reading the reactor setup up guide listed in the garage forum, straight over my head :D, gonna have to re-read it a few times and see if I understand after that, if not I'm doomed to asking for setups which I don't wanna do all time :( , just can't seem to get my head around what everything does and why and where to adjust it ggggggrrrrrrrrr.

I'm far from an expert and still have much learning to do myself, but I will say that it's not really about there being a right or wrong setup specifically, it's more about what you want and how you personally want the car to handle and feel. :) For me it's just about making just one or two tweaks at a time and seeing or feeling the difference it makes in the car's handling and times. Over time you get to know what each setting does by how it feels, and you start developing preferences and get better at tuning gradually and more naturally. So while it's nice to look at a list or read on what each setting does or doesn't do, there's no substitute for just testing each little tweak yourself and putting in the time testing it in practice. :)

I think TC in all GT3 cars is on even.if you put off in your personal settings, like ABS.

Yeah it's on if you have your settings set to 'real' assists, but if the host turns assists off in the lobby it is unavailable I think. You can also turn it on/off if you have a button assigned for it.

TBH I don't think it really matters for the RUF GT3 - just been doing some practice & it actually feels really nice to drive. Tried it with TC on and off & there was very little difference. I think I've found a RUF I like! :D

Well, I've just done daftest thing ever! I have been trying to get into setting up cars as you know, so tonight I have spent 3 hoursish with the 21 step setup guide and the Aston martin gte on catalunya gp, playing with the settings seeing what things do and how little you have to change things to make an impact etc I'm still very dodgy mind, gonna take a while I think, but at least I have a starting point. It's also been handy for trying to better my driving style as well. I have just turned ps off when it occurred to me that I could have picked 1 of the rufs and tracks we using tomorrow as my test session:( . What a Muppet I am :D.

Just as a query? In the setup guide (which is for rfactor) it says to turn all assists off and then to take aero and diff to the minimum, so u get to feel suspension n chassis getting better or worse, then when u got car behaving as you wish n looking after tyres better, then start adding aero n diff n playing with gears, why? If you can drive a car fast without assists, aero and diff while looking after tyres, why would u put them all back on? I think I was a second slower with aero back on (which I put 1 on front on 3 on rear). Oh well the mind boggles and my brain now hurts :D.

See you on track tomorrow

Evening/Morning all, here's my race review :)

Monza: Qualified P5. Got a decent start and stayed P5 after Pink went off at T1 and Mantu passed me. The first few laps was a four-way battle for P4 between Mantu, Me, Grijo and BVB, us four constantly changing positions and racing each other hard, but fair. I managed to pass Mantu just before Lesmo 1 around Lap 5 to take P4 and started to pull away from the group, with Grijo following me close behind. Around Lap 7, me and Grijo caught up to Linny and Chig, who were rejoining from an incident at the second chicane, making it another close four-way battle! I kept close to the guys in front, patiently waiting for any opportunity, which I got a lap later as Chig had a small moment at Lesmo 1 and I sneaked through to P3. I closed Linny down and managed to pass him too for P2, but he stayed close behind and managed to out-drag me down the main straight and re-pass me for P2 and then raced off after Pidgey. I couldn't keep up with him, and I had a reasonable gap to Grijo behind, so I kept my gap to him to ensure a P3 finish, on the podium! :D

Imola: Qualified P5 again, however I disliked this RUF, it was both understeery and oversteery in the corners! :( (Although I was happy just to be starting this race after recent problems!). Anyway, I leapt past Pink at the start to take P4 and knowing I couldn't keep up with Chig/Pidgey in front, I prepared for a fun race-long fight with Grijo again. This didn't happen though, as on Lap 3, at T4, my car snap over-steered, sending me into a spin into the gravel, dropping me to P8. I managed to get back past Nervoso for P7 and set about catching BVB for P6. He defended well though from me and Mantu, both of us stuck behind. On Lap 7, at T10, I had another oversteer moment mid-corner, as did Mantu, spinning us both off and losing us time to BVB. I managed to bring the gap back down to 1s by Lap 10, only to lose the car mid-corner again at T4, losing all my progress and allowing Mantu to close. He had better straight line speed than I did and he managed to get alongside and pass me on the inside into T1 on Lap 12. We both chased down BVB again and the battle for P6 resumed. With three laps to go, BVB ran wide at the hairpin and Mantu and I both took advantage and got past. Mantu pulled away from me at the end, so I finished P7 at the finish, although seeing how close the people in front were, maybe I could have battled for P3 without the spins, who knows!

Congrats to Pidgey and Linny on the race victories and good racing out there everyone, really enjoyed tonight! :D

Very good races tonight
Race 1 was intense, i want to apologize to chig where i touch him at the second chicane, i think i don't leave you enough space when you missed the corner
Pidgey is very fast on starts, congrats to you for the win :)

Race 2 was more quiet, but i did 2 mistakes at turn 1 and one of them was on the last lap that spun off me and allowed chig to close to me
The car was difficult in support but it's a good car

See you next week :)

The race at Monza was really fun! I didn't really have the pace to keep up with others. With 3 laps to go coming out of the final corner I went over the kerb and got oversteer and a penalty. The car was going towards the pit entry and I couldn't save it thanks to the penalty.. I got some really good pace after exiting the pits and overtook someone on the final lap!
In qualifying at Imola I could only set 1 lap without traffic. Some drivers were really nasty and didn't want to let trough. Started the race in p3 or p4 and someone turned into me at turn 1 and I dropped down to last place which wasn't very nice. :( But I was able to gain some positions back.
Both races were fun! :D Congratulations to the winners!

I retired from the first race, I will post a video showing my unsolvable issues.

Second race was long and boring, I was 2 seconds faster than anyone behind me and 1 second slower than anyone in front so people making mistakes was the only real chance I got at finishing in the top 10.
Really didn't enjoy tonight's car/track combos.
Tried to attempt the time trial, I brake and the car snaps me into a barrier. Enough Rufs for me, I won't be setting a time.
Congrats to the winners both get my DotR vote.

Race 1 just don't like the rufs at all, just unpredictable. Had a good back of pack battle with rip_davan I think, both kept making mistakes and catching each other etc, back of pack but fun.

Race 2 qualifying got tapped on chicane at top of hill, 2nd time in 2 weeks, not funny at all, yes us slower drivers maybe slower but we still deserve respect, if u following somebody for a tow then fair enough but please brake when they do or pull out and overtake. Apart from that was a good race with rip_davan again for most of race. Didn't mind this gt3 version I had a decent setup and it braked ok was was pretty decent on tyres.

Congratulations to winners, my driver of race votes goto rip_davan for some enjoyable battles in both races :)

This Sunday races were the best for me. My fist podium, a 3rd position, but taste like 1st!!

In Monza I started at 7th position. I had great battles with Mantu, Superbvb and Diesel during various laps! Diesel always ahead. Me and Diesel managed to reach Chig.Diesel passed Chig and left me away. I fighted to get Chigīs position. One mistake and I was in 4th, Chig gone to 5th. Diesel? Vanished, never commited a mistake in front of me!

In Imola I started at 7th position again. At the start, I jumped to 6th. In First chicane, someone spun, I managed to pass other racer and I was in 4th !During various laps, I was racing with myself. Lost some of my concentration and, when I saw, Pink was all over me! I raced my guts! One mistake and she left me behind. I commited two mistakes and got two track penalties. Superbvb was only 2.5 secs behind me at that time. After this, I put my strongest pace to work. I managed to reach Pink, she spun in first chicane and bang, I was in 4th again. She didnīt quit and we fight for some laps. We managed to catch Pidgey in last lap, last chicane. I passed and when I saw, I was in 3th ! Again Pink didnīt quit and she was all over my rear view mirror. Thank God that race ended, so much pressure!

Diesel and Pink, warriors of this sunday! Congratulations to the winners!!!

Monza
Qualifying went well & managed to get pole.

Managed to get a decent start and kept the lead into the first corner, but made a mistake at the second chicane and let pidgey through into the lead. Kept within a second of him for about 5 laps & was pushing like mad to try to get back through. Didn't want to risk an overtake in a road car though unless it was very clear because the glue bug is so bad. I was very strong on the brakes but pidgey had much better traction out of the corners so I could never really get into the slipstream.

At about lap 5 the left side tyres just absolutely went to shit. Overheated & degraded a lot, which is frustrating as hell because I had no overheating in practice & very little degradation. Another case of the Project C.A.R.S. roulette wheel I suppose :(. Due to the tyres I just couldn't brake properly anymore & was sliding through the corners. All my pace went & eventually slipped down to 5th. Was lucky the race ended when it did because one or two more laps & I would've had to pit for fresh tyres.

Imola
Had a good back & forth battle with Linny for pole - think we swapped about 4 times! He eventually came out on top by a tenth, but I was pleased with 2nd looking at the gap to the rest of the field. Expected a close battle between us for the lead.

Started fairly well again, but decided to take it easy in the first few laps until I got into a rhythm. I've been making too many mistakes in the opening laps & doing this seemed to help.

Linny pulled out a 3 second gap in the early laps, and when I eventually started to push I pulled out an 8 second gap to pidgey behind. I started to chase down Linny & got the gap to about 2 seconds. Thought my moment had come when I saw him spin at the first turn, but in my eagerness to get past I did exactly the same thing!! That allowed pidgey to close to about 2 seconds again.

Got back on the pace & pulled out a 12 second lead to pidgey, with Linny about 7 seconds ahead. The rest of the race was quite lonely, with Grijo eventually moving into 3rd behind me but about 25 seconds or so behind. Just settled in to a rhythm to finish the race, but at the start of the last lap I suddenly saw Linny in the gravel at turn one again! Pushed hard to get past but he had just enough of a gap and finished the race 7 tenths ahead - close one! :).

Enjoyed the tracks as I always seem to be quick at these two, but I must admit I'm glad to see the back of the RUF RGT-8 for the time being! Now to try to wrestle the Mustang into some sort of setup!

Congrats to the winners & thanks to everyone else for the good racing :).

P.S. Linny - don't worry about the tap at Monza, I don't think you did anything wrong :).

Driver of the Race Votes

Monza - Diesel. Every time I'm racing anywhere near him I know I can trust him not to run into me. I was struggling badly for grip & was all over the place when he caught me but he still made a good, clean move.

Imola - Linny. Couldn't you have just missed this week dude? :p. My pace was soooo good but still I can't win because he was just a fraction quicker!

Thank you all for two very entertaining races. A special thanks to The_Russian for the votes, you are too kind. I must apologise for running straight up your arse going in to Ascari. I broke a fraction too late when you broke a fraction early. Thankfully, I hit you very square and it didn't seem to unsettle you too much. I really enjoyed race one. The battle with The_Russian was really fun, I had an inconsistent period in the middle of the race and he pulled away but it was great while it lasted.

I get stupidly nervous whenever I play online and it affects my concentration something fierce. I'm sure, the more racing I do with my new friends, the less that will have an impact. I had no time for practice this week but that will not be the case next race weekend.

Race two was just very quiet. I was consistent enough but consistently 7 seconds per lap slower than the leaders is far from ideal. I was battling with The_Russian early in the race when I took a bit too much curb at the final chicane on lap two (I think) and copped a 10 second cut-track penalty! I was catching a couple of times but then I'd make a mistake and undo all of my previous laps work. I loved the GT3 but I kept going into the gravel on the second-to-last corner due to the dip in the road just before my braking point.

My driver votes go to The_Russian in race one for an excellent battle and to Grijo for his first podium in race two.

Congratulations to the winners and see you all soon.

Another guest driver showing in race two for me - I shall hereby name myself the mobile chicane. First 3 laps were OK-ish near the back. I was actually gonna go to bed due to an early start today (wish I had) but by chance caught Pink's invite.

Anyway yeah so an OK start from the back.

Then I somehow managed to crash at the entry to the second chicane (Villeneuve) ON 8 CONSECUTIVE LAPS. Changed my tyres, and then managed to crash at the first chicane for the remainder of the race. I got lapped twice. Most of my laps were 2 minutes long :(

Pretty much my whole race was entry understeer, then oversteer, then understeer, then power oversteer, understeer, no-steer, oh bugger [gravel noises], bang.

Well done to everyone that stayed on the Tarmac :)

Grijo for race 2, because it's his first podium

My Drivers of the Race:

Monza: Grijo, he shadowed me throughout the whole race, he had a good consistant pace and was very clean in overtaking others while we moved up the order.

Imola: BVB, he may not have been the quickest, but he did very well to keep myself and Mantu behind for so many laps, his defensive driving was very fair and clean.
