Free practice at Mojave. If you have Auto start engine set to off, you have no engine and can't start it.

I don't know if this is the same at any location?

On the PC at least we can assign a button to start the engine, which works fine on Mojave.

Yeah for that track in particular (with no pits) you need to assign buttons for 'Ignition' and 'Start Engine'
That's on the PC anyway, I would think it would be the same for the consoles.

Yes its the same on consoles.. I always have the start engine mapped.. I get crap from buddies all the time when I stall out lol but that's the way I like it

Hmm. I have a button for start, but I haven't assigned one for Ignition. Do you have to press them both at the same time, or one after the other?

There aren't many buttons on a controller.

Start turns power on and off, ignition starts the engine when power is on.

I have never seen a need for the power on /off switch my self . I have the ignition switched mapped in case i cough the clutch but power on /off never needed.

Yeah, not much use for it. There could be a case for coming up with a mechanic fault that requires the driver to cycle the power, but no such thing exists in the game currently so it's fairly useless.

Sorry, I meant ignition. I have ignition mapped not start. But it didn't work at all on Mojave.

Start turns power on and off, ignition starts the engine when power is on.

I think you've got that backwards. Ignition turns power on/off, start engages the starter...

^^^ Correct.

I think you've got that backwards. Ignition turns power on/off, start engages the starter...Could indeed be. I just set them up in order and know which button does which, but can never remember the names. =)

I've got 'Left-Alt' = 'Ignition' and 'Space' = 'Start Engine' .........Simples.

Which ever way around it is, I have a button mapped to START the engine, not turn on the electrics. My point it the engine button doesn't start the engine on Mojave.

Because you have to have both mapped and press them one after another :)
