Why woudl that need 12MB? Don't think so.

I wouldn't know how many MB were needed for liveries, i shall refrain from any further suggestions until i have fully researched the subject in question.

Why peoples first reaction is to shoot others down when they dont even know the answer is beyond me.

Very weird, cannot see any files or folders last modified today, by this 12.8MB update ~30mins ago.

It was not my intention to "shoot you down", I just added my opinion about it.
The liveries are in your game files anyway, since you need to see others who have those.

So, that would only need a few lines in a text file, to remove them, surely no 12MB :)

Maybe it has to do something with this (even though I think that the Dedicated Server is a separated app) http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?26520-Dedicated-Server-API&p=1141573#post1141573

Mhh could also have something to do with the Logitech Liveries - I didn't buy them but I cannot find them in the Steam Store anymore either. So that could be it aswell

Perhaps it's this:

Strictly for 'market research & customer relations' of course ;).

Poor Ian.... Considering how many are sitting in front of the game in their undies or even less...

Well there are probably many that resemble wookies.

You guys need to read the EULA before you click yes

I just checked my installation and this one seems to be a Visual C++ Redistributable Package update only.

Great another update without adding the pit bugs fixes that apperantly is fixed but not bothered to release...

I think you should go and moan about the same things on the pCARS Steam forum too, just for good measure.

Yeah, sorry. Its stupid off me to complain that a bug fix is done but they dont bother to release it. I mean the game is just like...5-6montns old now? Ofc can't expect the devs to care about make the game playable after just 5-6months...

That would account for the size (around 12 MB)

It's not really an update per se.

And that's enough of that.

the last patch is 2,5 weeks old, so calm down a bit...
im waiting to for the pit stop tire fix but i can wait!
better a working patch (with more fixes then only the pit bug) than a patch with a singlefix and more bugs.

Honestly, why doesn't every update come with a readme list of fixes. Even if its just updating Visual C++ ????

Because it's not worth the mention.

and yet it stirred up a 3 page panic attack .

Your wrong.
Everything that our PCs are downloading automatic, is worth to mention.
And it was worth to generate 3 pages of forum posts, minimum. Don't know if there are other threads about this.

Would you also like your own personal development team member to follow you around and recount all of the work done on the title that day to you?

If you can't control or find out for yourself what your PC is doing that seems like a much larger issue with the user.

At any case, the amount of people getting their undies in a twist and their jimmies rustled over a 12mb VC runtime update is too high. I'm glad each and every one of you take the game that seriously, but this is a bit disturbing now.

I would think a one- or two-line readme would just be part of the job, not an added burden.

Nope, i wouldn't.
As long as all is internally.

If i send an update to my customer, he will get a description, what's in.

Just a piese of time.
If the developer writes down one line, that's 10 seconds.
If 1000 customers search their PC about 10 minutes to find out what's happend, this is an overall of 166 hours of lost time.

As this update was automatically, i can't do anything against it.
In real , professional life, no admin or customer would install an update w/o description and without testing it on a test system , no way to install it blind on a production system.

Shure i know, gaming and professional are not the same, but why shouldn't they rise the standards.

ANY update MUST have info, at least on steam where there a position for this. personaly i do not like to take files without knowing what is.

Don't do anything with them, if it was needed you would have been told (obviously)
They are just there if you need to re-install them.
