View Full Version : Career progression - basic question?

Hi there.
It is my first post on this forum and the first post asking for help with a racing game ever.
But never I was so puzzled with any game in my life.
To the point.

As I hated the karts, I decided to start a new career and chosen the Formula Rookie to be my first type of cars.
I won Euro Trophy, UK Challenge and finally become a World Champion.
Next only thing I am able to do is to participate in a invitational race - I even can't skip practice or progress to race or whatever.
I would rather like to move to Formula Gulf but for that I need a new contract, correct?
I wasn't offered anything as of yet - does it mean I have to play that invitational race?
I suppose, there should be a "finish season" "button" somewhere but there is not.

Another question - what if I would like to skip Formulas and start with the GT series (tier 6)?
How do I do that? Create a new career?
If so, is it possible to use the same name?

Please help as I am pretty stucked-up here ;)

Contracts will be offered at the end of the season. There is a skip to end of season button but you need to finish the series you are in first for it to be available.

As for your second question you may be offered a contract to drive in that series at the end of the season. If not you will need to start a new game at that start point.

End of the season?
So becoming World Champion does not mean and of the season?!
I don't see any Formula Rookie races in the calendar.

Can my current credentials be used for a new game/career?

I think I am in the exactly same situation as described here:

I wasn't offered anything as of yet - does it mean I have to play that invitational race? Yes (or skip it).
I suppose, there should be a "finish season" "button" somewhere but there is not. This one will only occur on the bottom right when all career and invitational events are done.

End of the season?
So becoming World Champion does not mean and of the season?! Correct. End of season essentially means "end of year", as explained above.
I don't see any Formula Rookie races in the calendar.

Can my current credentials be used for a new game/career? No.

I think I am in the exactly same situation as described here:

Please find my answers in green in your quote above.

Bealdor, thank you for the prompt response!
But...

You can skip invitational events with the "Jump to my next event" button in the bottom right and you can skip practice and qualifying too.
Either I am blind or I don't have this button available.

Only "enter" is highlighted (aside from options).

And here is the calendar

Please look above - in Polish but understandable, I think.
And "wyscig" is "race" - so maybe this could be the reason?
I'm in the race already - fine but this the place where it all started if I am not mistaken (it was 3 AM ;) ).

Since you already participated (and finished) in one of the practice sessions you're no longer able to skip the whole event.
And since it is a trophy (small championship) you now can't skip the other 3 races anymore too. The only way is to simulate to the race, start it, retire to pit box and skip to end of session.

Got it.
The only thing is that after participation I decided to quit and I was asked if I wanted to save my results - I answered not...
Don't get it, anyway.

Your advice requested though:
what If I skip (as I now I will finish last anyway) - what about my future career? How to get to another class?
And, BTW, the career doesn't necessarily progress horizontally only, right?
It could go from Formula Rookie to GT, for example?

At the end of the year (finished season) you'll get emails with contract offers depending on how good you performed in your main career races.

If you get the contract offer, yes. You're not forced to stay in open wheel championships.
