Hi guys, since I now have accumulated a pile of Setup Guide videos over the last few weeks and months I thought I would share them with you in a dedicated thread.
Maybe to one or another these will be of any help.
I'm not the setup master, I'm more learning within my videos myself so this is for beginners and amateurs ;)

I also linked Tom Shanes Profiler files in the video descriptions as well as the whole final setups on http://projectcarssetups.eu/ (user name the same as here)

Tell me what you think, what you like and dislike, so i can improve this service in the future :)

Ok, let's begin, I will just put them in here in order of publishing:

Tony - I've been subbed for a while and enjoy your videos, good to see them all here for more people to use.

Now If only I could work out how you are always 1 - 1.5 seconds quicker than me with the same car, setup, track conditions, line, breaking points ..... arghhh!

Keep up the good work on the channel :)

Thank you all for your support!

@Electric: I know the problem of lap time differences (assuming the are 30% Setup / 30% Driving Line / 30% Experience and skill and 10% luck), that's why I also started a Track 101 series (where I explain the best racing line for a certain track) a while back as you might know. However this needs much more preparation and practice on my side so I can't make them too often, but give it some time and I will do one track after another :D

I practiced with some guys from pcars-forum.de on Monday and the result was quite a nice setup for the Ginetta GT4 at Monza so I made a Setup 101 for it, you can watch it here ;)

Do you remember me? The guy from France... Yeah, you've got it, Patrick! Hahaha!

However, nice to find you here and you already know what I'm thinking about your great 101 tuning guides, right? In other words: :applause: :applause: :applause:

Sorry once again for just being sporadically at Silverstone today, but you know why mate...

The Aston is my favorite car, too. I arrived to baseline settings close to yours but I didn t undestand well the physics behind it. Thanks to your explanations, it is now a bit clearer for me, in particular concerning the acceleration and deceleration locks, pre load, engine brake mapping.
On the other hand, your force feedback settings are quite the opposite of Jack Spade ones, which are widely used. I will try yours because I like your concept of feeling good the details of the road. Unfortunately, the ffb settings you provided are not so usefull because some wheel calibration parameters are missing unless you use default values. Did you change also the scoops, gains and other clipping parameters?

I use everything else on Default except for the overall FFB strength in the controller menu which I set to 80.

And in the driver/Logitech Profiler I use the recommended settings for pCars (100/0/0/900/Allow game to change settings)

I liked the old videos that showed you driving the cars to find issues that need correcting and then going back to the pits to make a change. Seeing what you did in response to what you felt in the car was helpful to me. However I certainly understand the need to shorten the videos so this seems like a reasonable compromise.

Thanks for the feedback, that's what I need! I'll probably do a longer more relaxed one in the future then ;)

Great vids. Very informative. Can you do a video showing the step by step instructions on how to setup an open wheel car? Just like Schnizz said, take it on track, what are you looking for, what's the first thing to adjust...and so forth.

Thanks for the new video, all the good tuning advices are still included.
But, I also preferred the previous longer version of the videos, but I understand that it is more work for you than this shorter edition.

It's actually not that much more work however I saw that most people are only watch a fifth of the longer videos unfortunately, so I'm now trying different formats :)

My idea is basically to make shorter episodes for car/track setups with cars I previously featured on other tracks like the Aston and longer ones for cars I have not yet made any setup 101s before. Maybe that's the best way to do it.

I needed a setup for thursday's ARLA race and based it on the previous Brno setup so it only contains the changes made to that:

Are your lap times faster with the McLaren than with the Aston? I feel that the McLaren understeers less and you can take corners faster.

Completely depends on the track :) On high altitude tracks I'm faster in the McLaren because of the turbo but generally I'd say the Aston is faster.
