Are we any closer to finding out what causes this or curing this on xbox1.
Just back from a trip to the states and both times I've played the game it has kicked me back to the dash.
Last night in TT mode and tonight in MP.

Also I've noticed the game still doesn't save any set up changes you make in the pits in MP!

Deleting the saved data for the game fixed the same issue for me. It's a pain because you will lose your career, stats, and everything that you have, but at least it seems to fix the issue.

Tried that before but it didn't work last time.
Always had crashes but seems worse since latest update!

It's improved a hell of a lot I know that. Used to be every couple of races. Nothing a hard reset won't fix :D

You did a great job there Wood! well done! I think the bottom line is that 7th core not being optimised yet. You see, if the console is online there is always something happening on the background...notifications, friends and activity lists being updated and processes that we don't even know about...now when you play offline you only have the game running, the console does not have to perform any other tasks.

My console is always online via Wi-Fi, 100Mbps. I've deativated all notifications, always keep the console on energy save mode and never run any apps before I play PCars...so basically I start the console and play PCars straight away...no checking friends, activities etc....game never crashes and sound issue does not happen as often, maybe once every 10-15 laps. Still, I hope the new dashboard helps with the overall performance of PCars and that SMS updates the game with the new SDK when available.

It has only happened to me once since patch 5.0, so it have improved a lot, eg, no CTD's at all in Gienetta Junior championship so far for me.

For me now this is the racing porn game I hoped it would be from the off. I know it still has its bugs but they don't effect my game play as I don't do the career. (However I do feel for the people that do)

Credit where credit is due, SMS have stayed true to there word in regards to constant up-dates and things can only get better from here on in now, I just hope more people come back to the game.

I have no idea what the 7th core is buddy but I understand what your saying about things happening in the background. Lets face it, an xbox is basically a PC, and the more things you have running on a computer the slower the comp runs. This game is a very hungry game and takes the xbox to its limits.

The 7th core is one of the processing cores of the console. When it was released, the 7th core was used to run the OS and nothing more. MS released a new SDK mid-2015 to allow devs to use the 7th core for gaming as well. So you have the OS running on the 7th core and some functions of PCars also utilizing it. Problem is that MS is to release a new SDK to optimise the 7th core for gaming purposes, this is when, according to SMS, they will be able to fix the audio issue.

See, tell me in dummy terms and I get it :)

Just fixing a couple of things in my previous post:

"Up until recently, both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have reserved two entire CPU cores (out of eight available) in order to run the background operating system in parallel with games. Since October, Microsoft has allowed developers access to 50 to 80 per cent of a seventh processing core"

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-microsoft-gives-more-cpu-power-to-xbox-one-developers-blog

And this is how PCars utilises the 7th core:

“audio mixing, engine sound synthesis and detailed grass generation onto this core, fixing this problem of becoming CPU limited.”

This great informative thread continues. It's just reminded me to hard stop my Xbox and reset my router for later. Many thanks. Race on people!
