View Full Version : NEW option to set race length by time - not quite right

Hello SMS and all community.

Our small but competitive group of racers were overjoyed with the 6.0 patch bringing timed races that will support our desire to do - for example - LMP1 endurance racing.

We finally got together to test out timed races and noticed a rather frustrating problem.

Consider this scenario... A hard fought race where two racers are battling for position, the timer is about to reach the end of the race... The first guy crosses the line just before the timer finishes, last lap - bring it on! The second guy crosses the line just after the timer finishes... the race ends for him?!!
The last lap battle is lost.

Now this is an extreme case but did happen, albeit with a bigger gap, the second place guy has lost the race one lap before the end.

So from our understanding, the race ends for each player when the time set is reached as the racer crosses the line. Surely the race should end for each racer when they cross the line IF the time set is reached AND the leader has crossed the line.

Dunno how easy it would be to fix but this is sure frustrating - simple logic to me.

Thanks for listening

I have not tested and our league is using laps (it started before timed races were possible).

Completely right.
The timer should be only used for the driver on first position.
All other drivers should be handled like a lap race.

time 0 -> first driver crosses the finish line -> all other drivers are in last lap
