You are marooned on a desert island with a device that only has enough room on it (let's say because of, oh I dunno, aliens) for PCars and one car and one track.

Which do you choose, and why?

Track: Nordschleife
Car: Ruf RGT8
Why? Because i love both of them

Nordschleife + Renault Sport R.S.01

I would truly master this combo and beat the hell out of everyone with it when I come back! :p

Oulton Park and the Corvette C7.R from the US DLC pack :)

As much as I love Nordschleife and Bathurst, no other track gives me as much simple driving pleasure as Oulton. There's no frustration from banging on the walls, no frustration from messing up a 6, 7 or 8-minute perfect lap in the last few bends, just a wonderfully detailed track that is a joy to drive.

The car is a no-brainer. I love lots of cars for many reasons in Project CARS but the Corvette, that noise it makes as it tries to suck the earth into it's intakes at ~4000rpm, I love that, it makes me giggle and brings out the little kid in me.

I expect(ed) the Nordschleife to be high on peoples list, simply because it holds legendary status, but it wouldn't be my pick.

My pick for track would be Oulton Park, such a great track to race, and interesting with a great mix of corner types.

As for car, I think I would have to go with the Ford Capri Gr5, such a dynamic car to drive, has everything, speed, grip, but you also need to keep your wits about you because when it bites, it bites HARD.

Tough one.. but i'd go for Spa because i love the track. as a car i think i'd prefer the Renault 3.5

Toyota TS040-HYBRID and Circuit de la Sarthe.

I've done 4400km in my TS040-HYBRID and 6500km at la Sarthe with many many more thousands to come yet. I could lap there until the end of time.

Not because of it's status, but because of it's variety for me. Nords has so many challenging corners, so it won't get boring as fast as a short 4 km track. It's as simple as that. :D

I'd go for Oulton Park as well.
Beautiful track. And 3 layouts ;)

Car: Lotus 49C (because there is no Ferrari 312T)
I just love vintage F1

I'll take Bathurst and the BMW M3 GT2/E.

I know the obvious combo for Bathurst is with the V8 Supercar but a Falcon is still a Falcon ;)

If the aliens also had the ability to add a track I would go Phillip Island with the c7r. Endless fun to be had.

Otherwise I'd go Sonoma with the formula rookie. It's such an amazing combo and one I am still unable to master properly

Nice thread.

I'd take Nordschleife with a GT3 car, possibly the C7.R. Mostly because it is such a long and varied track (it's legendary status is an extra bonus) and because GT3 is my favorite class.

Emma Watson I think, or Halle Berry.

Oh wait, misread the question. For me, BAC Mono at Brands GP probably.

I'd go for:
Nordschleife. Hard to choose, Oulton Park and Spa are up there as well.
Any GT3 car, but if I had to pick then Aston Martin Vantage GT3

Oulton Park or Nordschleife really hard to choose between them :(
And Dallara DW12 or Corvette C7.R again SO hard to choose!

Track - easy ...Oulton Park

Would miss Nordschleife even though Im pants at it :/

Car...argh... just 1 really?!? RUF RGT-8 GT3 probably.... Formula C is so sweet there too though... both are such a great combo there.

Then theres easily another 5-10 cars i would miss badly :)

Donnington Park for me, never driven it in any other game but it just feels 'right' I love it, for the car I think I would take the KTM X-bow, no two laps are alike but all of them have you grinning from ear to ear!

C7.R at Road America, because merica.

I'm stuck between the C9, or CLK LM.

Track would be Le Mans.

Oh, and wait-a-go Remco for the eclectic taste!

I'd probably go for Donington as well. I drove it a lot in Simraceway and the PC version drives just the same. At the moment I would probably go for the Audi R8, though my favourite changes often!

Sonoma and DW12.

Edit: And I'll make a skin for it from Wilson premium volleyballs. The best volleyballs for when you're marooned. Or anytime.

Oulton Park for me as well, and the best 'natural feeling' car for me at this track is the X-Bow, believe it or not.

Track: Nordschleife. Reason: Well. :)

Car: Audi R8 LMS. Reason: GT3 is the best suited class for the track, and the Audi is my favourite pet of them.

The track is tough to decide.

Oreca 03 Nissan is go to for me, and the track Autodromo Enzo Dino Ferrari, or simply Imola.

03-03-2016, 20:06
I too would probably go for the Corvette C7.R, not just because it's new to the game, but because it's my favourite race car out there right now. (As a side note, I cannot wait for Le Mans this year with Corvette vs. Aston vs. Ford vs. Ferrari vs. Porsche, that is going to be insane!)

The track is way more difficult, but I would probably go for Zolder. It's a perfect track for GT cars (my favourite category of racing) and I love the way the car lifts slightly off the ground at high speed at turn 7.

Would not have expected to see Oulton Park come up some much. Do like the track but didn't think it was that popular.

For me, FA @ Silverstone GP. I could run through Maggots, Becketts, Chapel @ 200-180 mph for days.

Extra Credit: Spa in CLK or FA. :o

Nordschleife, Corvette. Easy at the moment.

Diluvian
03-03-2016, 20:20
Not an easy thing, hm .. I would pick Nords because I'm still not familiar with a lot of corners and the track is really hard to beat perfect.

The car.. hm.. Ford Capri Zakspeed

It's hard to find 'the only one' selection because there are some good ones and the varierty makes the fun ;)

Enkidu
03-03-2016, 20:37
Hardly surprising that Nordschleife is a popular choice, more so over how many who pick Oulton Park. I haven't really paid much attention to it before, needs to give it a try sometime again since it seems like I've missed something.

Oulton Park (International or Island if I had to choose a single layout) because it's just a fun track to drive in just about any car.

Car choice would be much more difficult, but at the moment would come down to McLaren MP4 GT3, Corvette C7, or Formula Rookie ... though there are others like the BMW M1 Pro car and McLaren F1 that would probably enter into the decision as well.

IrideGravity
03-03-2016, 21:16
The Nords. Because every other track is easy to memorize and could be mastered quickly. Been driving Nords on occasion for a while and I still don't have it memorized, let alone mastered.
And when it comes to multiple layouts? They suck. Who wants to forget which layout your on mid course when your in the zone and kill yourself forgetting a different layout or having a lapse of concentration.
There's a reason they are never used in real racing. Circuits stay the same for a reason in real life.
Safety.

Edit:
Great topic btw.
On the car choice. I'd say the radical as it's the fastest open cockpit road car giving a lot to learn from. Or the lotus 49. Both would force you to improve a lot at both driving and tuning. More so than any other open single seater. And I couldn't use a non open cockpit car because I just don't enjoy the view from behind the wheel in first person in them.

on a side note. Reverse courses are awesome fun with no confusion.
Why aren't they in Pcars? This has to be the easiest of additions. Contents already there, just have to mirror it.

You can, if you like, drive any of the circuits in reverse in Free Practice, but that's it.

Until then I'll get my Bear Grylls on.

Mount Panorama and the V8SC will do me fine, the cars enough of a challenge to keep it interesting, and theres nothing like the home track youve grown up with.
