View Full Version : Can anyone recommend a good chair to use for playing this and other racing games?

I know there are chairs out there that are designed for long stints in racing games. But I'm a noob to the various types of gaming/racing chairs available. I currently use a leather office chair given to me by my folks and my back hurts quite a bit when I am doing a long race :( It doesn't have the kind of lumbar support I need. Any suggestions for a good chair would be welcome.

If you aren't looking for a full sim rig, I used the following setup for several years:

I don't need a full sim rig LOL. Just a good chair with lumbar/back support and perhaps a wheel/pedal stand.

That's not a sim rig, that's just a chair.

I use a Granstand cockpit. Not the best, but super cheap and really comfortable with limitless adjustment. And it's more than strong enough for my TX. And there's no support between your legs.

The granstand is actually more like what i am looking for. no leg support is okay :)

I am sitting on one of these right now and my advice is, save your money. If you want a racing seat styled desk chair pay the money for a good one that will last.

You can also go to a demolition car reseller and buy a real smooth leather seat for less than 100$ ;-)

Fair enough .
I've had mine since project cars release (so about 10 or so months) and play for about 5 hours at a time and its doing well .
I've got some conditions that affect me being able to sit for long periods but with this seat and Project cars I'm able to sit without problems .
So personally i recommend it =)

I have the same problem with my back and use one of these..... https://www.alza.co.uk/playseat-challenge-d2418207.htm?kampan=adeupla-uk_produkty_herni-sedacky&country=GB&gclid=CjwKEAiAx--2BRDO6q2T84_a52YSJABWAbfrG9UxGa6OQj48nQzxKmjPuYaEoK8T2f9WLgPcmeFAABoCk9fw_wcB

I can sit for hours now with no back problems and it's very sturdy.

Depends what you want but I reccoment any chair without wheels on, if you have a wheel. So when you press down on the throttle or brake you dont slide backwards.

1985/6 Toyota Corona, from memory. Fabric, but good if you're a regular size. :) boss drifts on gravel with a scandy flick. Couldn't spin the tyres even in rain though lol
Personal pick would be 300zx seats, or really anything from a 90's Nissan turbo :)

The quality control is very hit and miss on them as they essentially are a cheap copy of the more expensive products out there. My brother has one as well, we bought them together for extremely cheap because the boxes were water damaged, and last I saw it was in great nick. Mine however has not held up anywhere near as good. For me the lumbar support is ever so slightly too low as well but that is just a personal thing.

They can, but they'll get flagged because using the same IP address which is often done by troublemakers like spammers or people who have been banned before.

I'll unban him.
