An eventful evening was summed up by our winner

After qualifying again, and this time two seconds off of the 1:26, I thought for sure someone would get me. But I think we all just wanted to get to the race, and Hammer was a bit behind the eight ball with his wheel issues and all. The race started out dicey too. I almost lost it into the first turn. My hands were all crazy. lol. It's kind of funny. That was one of several saves that I credit to DiRT (check out turn one, lap 21). It's amazing what that game has taught me. Anyway, I got shellacked too on the first chicane. I must have been real wide, because I cut that one many times as I look at the replay. I think the game may take it a bit easy on you when it's raining. That's the only explanation. That or I just got lucky. No spots gained, so I was not about to slow.

On lap 2, I caught up to the A.I. in front and passed him with a bold sweep onto the backstretch. After that, I had to pick off Hammer and Gibson. Now, here's where it was strange too...I almost never am that much faster than Hammer. Usually, I'm quite a bit slower adn less consistent. For some reason, the car clicked. (I actually took second in this baby in another league and that was a shocker. Almost beat Nic. Not sure what it is about the car, but I wish they were all like that! I must admit, if not for Hammer's wheel issues, I would have had a tough little battle on my hands for sure. On more than one occasion, I saw Hammer either dart off the track or sitting there just watching us. ???. How he finished just one lap down, I'll never know, but that was pretty impressive. After lap two, I was all alone.

I expected to proceed with my usual f-up and see people catch me and then f-up some more. But not this time. Although I made the patented screw ups, nobody was even near me. The A.I. was the closest one for a long time. Then I saw you Bud, and maybe Gibson at one point. All of you were very nice to let me by. I didn't know what to do. :o. I'm not used to lapping people, but fortunately, I think I did most all of it in the pits. My guys fumble their nuts too Bud. The are a sorry ass pit crew for sure. Good thing I don't pay them. I always opt for no fuel, especially in the rain, because a heavier car is not bad. But even alone, it was fun. The track is great, the rain was even better, and the car was sublime. I did get into somewhat of a groove and sailed to my FIRST LEAGUE WIN EVER! I need to double encrypt the film, because it will probably never happen again. :-S. I have no idea why I take to this car. It's so smooth, and, you know, I barely practiced. Maybe 30 mins. tops, and that was mostly in and out of the pits. I think my setup was very solid, as I worked on that a bit and it was very sure footed coming out of the turns. Even so, I bit it about four times and each time panicked, only to realize that the next guy was 30 seconds behind. ;-|. Well, the fast lap came at the end and I've sent the whole race telemetry to Hammer.

Thanks again for being patient with me and waiting to reform. Nice little group we got. Expanding the roster is always good,
