View Full Version : [RESOLVED] Can't turn shadows on anymore.

I bought Project Cars in Oculus Home. I had shadows on and everything was working great. I was playing around in the graphics options a little bit after that and now the shadows are gone and now matter what settings I change they will not turn back on. What happened here? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling through Oculus Home but all of the options remained the same. How do I reset the game to the fresh defaults? And what was it that I did to make the shadows turn off forever???? Please help!

Perhaps your nearZ valve defaulted back to 0.045? I have had a problem with the oculus.xml file resetting even if I look at the VR menu options. Open the XML file and set "nearZ" between 0.005 and 0.025. Obviously make sure shadows are also on :)

Thanks so much for the help. Where do i find this XML file? Would you mind pasting the contents of your XML here?

The XML file is in your Project CARS folder in Documents :)

You can just change the settings in the in-game options but, as sberns says, it seems to revert if you go back to the options later.
