Just getting started. I'm using the G27 and see a few threads with a lot of stuff on tuning the G27. I came across this fellows vid

which looks nice and straightforward compared to some of the other threads. I'd like to have 'good' G27 setup and I'm willing to put in the time to get it. I'm curious about how is to be gained from car specific more complicated setup procedures that can be found in the forum?

I also have TrackIR, its a game changer in flight sims. Those that have TrackIR do you use it with PCars?

Thanks in advance!

There's a small issue with TrackIR right now with cameras. Just uncheck the x,y,z axis in your TrackIR profile. You will still have Yaw/Pitch/Roll. Should be fixed next patch.:)

Hey Abe thanks for the links. I've made my way through the first link the G27 Setup Guide. The second link on FCM seems to be a further refinement of the last step in the Setup Guide in the first link. If I skip this and just go with the setup in the first link and then the tweaker files will this be a mistake??

The default FFB is better than is used to be. The first thing to dial is to set Steering Gain to 1 and dial the FFB deadzone. It'll give you a solid base.

Deadzone removal range 0,15
Deadzone falloff 0,015

Steering Gain 1

When you'll have time, i suggest reading the various FFB thread if you want to dig deep. FCM 1.2 gives numbers that drive great, imo.

Good luck.

Guys thanks for the help!

Being new to this I find all of the thread content a little much to consume.

I've followed through with the G27 setup guide and ran the FCM to get numbers.

Now I installed Jack Spades Tweaker folders. What's confusing me at this point is the mention in his thread for recommended global FFB settings. If I just ran FCM would these not be the settings to use with Jack Spades tweaks?

Thanks

Yes, you can pair the two. He suggest globals, you use them as is. The only things you need to adapt are the deadzone and scoops settings.

As for Steering Gain, i would suggest to put it to 1. Move it slowing only in the end if you want more forces, overall.
