What's the best fov for my baby boy? When he's not using the rift he sits 45 cm from a 55" TV. He's soon 10 months old and pretty new to simracing so would a fanatec upgrade help him control oversteer better than the rubberband in his t80?

For a 55" screen at a distance of 45 cm the realistic FOV would be 107 degrees. Are you sure he's that close?

I assume that this thread is a joke. I think a 10 month old child using a rift would be a very bad idea.

That looks like a 5.5" TV and so the correct FOV would be a little different. HOWEVER, I would recommend the Tomy (http://www.cupofcoffee.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/turbotomy.jpg) setup over the T80 for him and maybe adding a couple of rockers (http://www.antiques.com/vendor_item_images/ori__799515629_1084318_W3-5270_AMISH_CUT_OAK_ROCKING_CHAIR_RUNNERS.jpg) to the base of his rig for simulated surge and heave motion.

Yes sorry, definitely a joke. Just wanted to show up the "cockpit" that I built for him. He loves it tho, turns the wheel like a proper rallypro, also uses it as a walking wagon. Thanks for the fov calculation.

I was so hoping that the kid really plays. Would be a viral video for sure around the racing game forums.

I'll keep him offline for a few more months, making him practice the karts for this and the next season. Can't let him take any shortcuts. Promise I'll teach him to break without a car infront.

I have always been doubting that the PEGI thing is of any relevance. Thanks to you I know better now.
