Slightly Mad have a stand running PCars with Vesaro full motion rigs and Oculus Rift headsets.

Any sim racers going?

Does the current Alpha version of pCars2 support Oculus Rift? I'd probably back it again, if so.

Aside from being off-topic, you cannot 'back' Project CARS 2 unless you already have an account on there. The doors were closed to new members about 8 months ago.

The motorshow wasnt too great compared to years ago, not a lot of cars . More interesting was the Vesaro, Oculus and Pcars stands.

2nd on the score board @Yorkie065,guessing thats you? bet you had a couple of laps more :D ;)

I managed to get a time on the board 14th....i'd say the first 5 are pro's and staff :p

Nice meeting you @Joseph Barron, kieran and James @Vesaro.

Top 5 there are :-

Joe Barron - SMS staff, was there all weekend :)
Yorkie - rank amateur (must have been a fluke time)
Kieran Bailey - Vesario staff by the looks of it (the (V) after his name)
James Brittan (or Britton?) - can't make out the bit in brackets after his name
Nic Hamilton - nope, never heard of him, any relation to Lewis? ;)

(sorry Yorkie :p)

Nurburgring and Formula Renault 3.5 The Nürburgring in 3½ minutes? Not a complete lap then?

Ah, OK, that explains it :D.

Amazing rigs aren't they! I tried one at the Autosport show earlier in the year, albeit without the Oculus back then. The pedals were the standout for me back then, they were sensational :).

Tried F1 style motion rig but preferred Vesaro

With Oculus was great but with the movement from the rig i didn't have time to admire the quality of the rift.

My rig now feels like Junk!!

My rig now feels like Junk!! :eek:That's always the danger when you get to play with wheel bases that cost thousands of pounds, pedals that are £1K+ etc etc. . Of course, if you've got the space and the money, they're amazing.

I would have come down to the show but 2½ hours on a train each way was a little more than I could bear - even then, I wouldn't have got there until nearly midday :(.

Ahh Cluck....I can tell you that you are correct in that my time was inaccurate...

For anyone who wants full details:
Formula Renault 3.5
Nurburgring GP
2 Laps from standing start
3 AI at pretty much 0% difficulty
Default Setup
2pm race start time, clear weather, real time progression.

The times are of the 2 times combined at the end in the results screen.

There's certainly more time to be found as I certainly felt MORE comfortable at home compared to the motion rig and OR (as amazing as they both were), but still not 100% happy. FFB felt very very light so need to sort that and have another go again to really push.

Going into a new rig for the first time with limited time and pressure times will be alot slower, be interesting to see how much time one can gain from home

At the Autosport show, I barely scraped a 49.9 lap with the BMW 1M Stanceworks at Brands Hatch. When the car released, I stuck my Rift headset on and set it up with the same settings (I had asked Joe Barron what the date/time was set to for that time attack leaderboard) and promptly knocked over 2s off the time I set at the show :).
