The FFB when steering on the MX-5 is very strange and I'm assuming this is because it's setup for drifting, is this the case?

I found this thead here http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?44542-Mazda-mx-5-radbull-steering-issue&highlight=radbull+steering but no one seems to say that, almost like it's a fault.

So is is just a case of tweaking the FFB for the MX-5 to get it to operate normally?

Try.....

FyScale -0.30
FzScale -0.50

Note the minus -

Edit: Can only be done in a tweaker file.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

It has to do with the large steering angle the car can support for drifting. It's not an error, it's just the way it works out with the those large angles. As provided by Roger, you can invert the force to make it feel like the other cars but that may not be the realistic way for it to behave/feel.

IIRC it also has 0 caster angle in the suspensions by design, it may contribute to the strange FFB
