Not the news I think any of us would want to wake up to read (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-16011175) :(

I can't say I'm a fan of boxing and I was too young to really see him in action but I knew his name. I wouldn't be surprised if every living person during the 70s and 80s knew his name.

There will be few sportsmen or women (or anybody) that will be as well remembered on their passing as Ali.

2016 is proving to be a real stinker of a year :(.

A true hero and I don't do that sort of thing.

No one ever gave him a chance against Sonny Liston. No big man should be able to dodge punches then attack like that.

Yeah, Luis Salom, the Moto 2 rider, also lost his life in practice yesterday. Looks as if he lost it under braking approaching the fast right handed coming onto the main straight.

I thought I'd done one of my 'text' pictures for Ali and I was right. The picture is made from most of the screenplay to the movie 'Ali'

A man who gave up everything to stand by what he believed. "No vietcong ever called me n****r". Great man.

I know he kicked the sh*t out of a fellow countryman who was honoured to fight him...
Another legend gone...

Whenever I feel like the world is about to hit me K.O. I think about "the rumble in the Jungle" and take all the shit raining on me and never go down.

Rest in peace champ.

My favourite sport was never boxing but I loved the man. My absolute sporting hero. The Greatest Champion of the World that the world has ever seen (or heard).

So many lines whether he was talking boxing or doing his magic for Harry Carpenter.

I'm not old enough to remember Ali in his prime, but I do remember his come back after they released him from jail. He was a great boxer, but even a greater role model for millions. It's so sad that such a great mind and body was so limited in his later life with Parkinson's disease.
