We run a league and after an event we compile the replay in order to create a "best moments" video.

It is strange that sometimes the liveries chosen by the pilots do not reflect correctly in the replay. is there a known root cause for this?

It is weird that sometimes the replay functions correctly not messing with the liveries.

Or even the car somtimes.. and then, if your lucky enuf to get all the players in the replay.

So PCARS crew just gave up... Remains in cold silence forever. It is incredible how a basic thing was so badly coded (probably by a cheap student), and not checked or tested at all. Total lack of quality control. Sum to this the Silverstone Classic and Nurburgring combined issues and you get a picture.

Ian has said on more than one occasion that he, and the rest of the SMS crew were and are very unhappy about the replay system, but it was too late to do anything about it already given the delays. Re-coding the entire thing would have taken too long and perhaps broken other aspects of the game.
Additionally, the entire game was almost completed before they had a publisher, so yes, the QC aspect was lacking since they did not have the man-power or time.

Personally, I do not view the replay issues as a game-breaker since it does not take away from the core of the game, which is the racing, because it is a racing sim after all, not a replay sim.
Also, the dev crew is busy working on pCARS2 and have been for some weeks now.
But now, having a publisher from day one, they have exponentially more resources to have adequate QC and bug fixing before release.

I am very much looking forward to seeing the evolution for the new game.
