Hello,
I have problem with Project Cars.
When Im playing in random time the game crashes and makes my monitors black or some other color.
I can't do something like ALT CTRL DELETE and there is some sound like "bzzzzzzzzz".
I have to restart my PC.
My PC specs
i5 7600k
rx 480
8 gb ram
2x Samsung SF350 24"
Im playing with AMD FreeSync.
Thanks for help.

Where is the 'bzzzzzz" sound coming from? monitors or computer? Is all OK running with just one monitor?
Located here is the debug folder:
C:\Users\YOU\Documents\Project CARS\dbgSession
Can you post the latest folder here please.(zip or rar). You need at least 5 post to attach it using the "go advanced' tab, so you will have to post a link to where you have the file located (hosted on).
What brand/model is your RX480?, also what do you have for a power supply?

It is coming from soundbars.
I did not try to play just with one monitor. I will check it.
It's MSI Gaming X, SilentiumPC Vero M1 600W 80Plus.
I sent you link to this folder on PW because I can't here cuz of spam protection.

Are you using a dedicated sound card? or just the integrated sound on the motherboard?
Also, if you are using Bitdefender A/V try disabling it and test. (or add these locations to the exception list in your AV)
C:\Users\YOU\Documents\Project CARS
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\pCars
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata
Radeon drivers install the AMD High Definition Audio Device drivers.,in Device Manager under 'Sound, video and game controllers' right click on AMD High Definition Audio Device and disable as a test. Are the sound bars your only speakers that you use?

Just integrated sound with motherboard. It's AsRock Z170 K4
I was using Avast, but I uninstalled it.
I use headphones also.
I cant see this AMD High Definition Audio Device, where can I find it?

puux

Playing with one monitor and without sound I mean putting off soundbars and headphones doesnt help. After few minutes game crashes at menu.

Do you have your i5 7600K overclocked?

puux

No, stock settings.

In Control Panel > System and Security > System > device manager, under ' Sound, video and game controllers' you should see the AMD High Def drivers.,right click on it, select disable.

Have you verified the game files in Steam yet?
Right click Project Cars in Steam library, click 'properties', click on 'Local Files' tab, click 'verify integrity of game files'.

Yes, I did, nothing change, still the same.
After the race, game crashed in menu.
Temperatures are ok.
CPU ~50 C GPU ~ 60 C

Is your GPU a factory overclocked card (as you never got back on make and model)

and are you running vsync (if not, try turning it on)

puux
05-04-2017, 15:11
That's MSI Radeon RX 480 GAMING X 8GB GDDR5 (256 Bit). I dont know that it's overcloked factory.
I will try to play with vsync.

If it's MSI and has gaming in the name, then it's a factory overclocked card..
On that card, OC mode has a 50MHz above stock for boost clock.. (which is probably the default, but not 100% sure on that) which actually isn't a lot (about 4%), so unless the RX480 is really susceptable to OC issues, may not be a problem (but is still worth getting it back to AMD default values just to test (that's what MSI would call silent mode))

puux
05-04-2017, 19:15
I put vsync mode on and set that silent mode.
After first racing, before menu crashed.
I dont know, its really weird.

Mad Al
05-04-2017, 21:39
well that still leaves plenty of other options.. memory problems, slight under volt on CPU, etc., etc....

BullWinkle

Do other games you have work ok?. Is it just Project Cars that has problems?
Maybe try to re-install the Radeon software/drivers or update to latest ones if you haven't yet. Worth a shot.;)

puux
06-04-2017, 12:11
I have just updated my GPU drivers to the newest version and still the same, after racing on second menu, crashed.
The strange thing is that when I run Project Cars my both wallpapers change to the black ones for no reason.

puux
06-04-2017, 13:08
Ok, in Witcher 3 is the same problem. After about 5 minutes the game crashes.

BullWinkle

Wondering now if it could possibly be your power supply. How old is it?, possibly dust restricting airflow? Something to check. Also try turning off Aero desktop theme, and try Basic Theme as a test. (ReLive recorder overlay probably won't work, needs Aero theme to work).
Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Personalization.

What brand/type? Sounds like you got a defective product as it cannot cope with heavy CPU/GPU load.

Just looking at motherboard manual, AsRock Z170 K4. What slots are your memory moduals placed in?

2 x 240-pin DDR3/DDR3L DIMM Slots (DDR3_A1, DDR3_B1)
2 x 240-pin DDR3/DDR3L DIMM Slots (DDR3_A2, DDR3_B2)

If there sitting next to each other that would be wrong.,should be every other slot.
Just something to check.,incase there were put in wrong when computer assembled.

Seems like a stability problem with your system. Like MadAi suggested in his post, possibly a voltage setting for cpu and/or memory.
What is the make/model of your memory sticks? Did you buy computer from local retailer/shop? You could bring it back and ask them to check it out.

ninjad with your post.:D

Maybe some test CPU/GPU?
Can you recommend any good software?

BullWinkle

According to the pic, your memory sticks(moduals) are in there correct slots. (it was a longshot:o)
Have you tried running MemTest? This will really stress your memory and possibly find a problem, or not. Let it run till it's finished, which could be an hour or two. You will need to make a bootable usb drive. There site will make it easy to get started. Free version is all you need.

....

it's a small L not a capital i (which looks completely different in this font.. I, see that, nothing like an l ) .. as in Al, short for Allen (appropriate as I'm quite short)

but I (see, another example of that difference in the font!) answer to most things... which is lucky... as I get called all sorts at times... !

And I would have thought a Moose with three Ls and an I in his name would be able to tell the difference

and yes, this post is completely OT and very tongue in cheek ;)

Maybe not worry about that, I'm on Win7,,I think Win10 handles aero abit differently.

What can I do?
I did tests for RAM, GPU, CPU and its ok.
What could be the reason of that?

In Task Manager what processes are running?. screenshots if you can.
There's something going on with your system/OS. Not sure what.:p Maybe open Windows Event Viewer, check if anything there that might indicate a problem.

Try running this 3D Benchmark, see if you have any issues running it. Once installed top left corner is 'Benchmark' button.

I tried to do Fire Strike 3D Mark, but it crashed also like on Project Cars or Witcher 3.
I have some logs from HWiNFO

EDIT:
Ok, I picked Silent Mode in Afterburner, set up Fan Speed on 99% and Fire Strike passed complete.

Yes, but I have to change Fan Speed value to 60% not Auto.
Should it be like this?

BullWinkle

Yes, but I have to change Fan Speed value to 60% not Auto.
Should it be like this?

I don't use the AfterBurner software myself.,just the AMD Radeon software settings. I have a sapphire RX480 card and just use the default settings.,without issues. My GPU fans won't start spinning up till at least 60 deg C. I would say give it a good test in Project Cars, and if it's stable and working without problems for the next few days I wouldn't worry about that Fan Speed Value at 60%. Keep an eye on your temps all the same though.

Edit:
Was the MSI Afterburner software installed when you purchased the computer? or you installed it after your problems started?
Maybe try uninstalling the MSI Afterburner stuff, reboot computer in case of some conflict between Radeon settings and MSI.

puux

Temps are about 60 ~ on Ultra so it's ok I think.

So do I understand correctly that with higher cooling fan settings it's working OK now?

That's my understanding Remco. Possibly on the Ultra settings he needed a more aggressive fan profile(setting) for his MSI Rx480.
