Hey guys, I've gone though and read as much as possible but i still could of missed something. But is any one else hoping that safety cars will be in the game? or some sort of VSC system? in Pcars one i saw plenty of spectacular crashes with debris flying everywhere, and afterwards would kind of hope a safety cars would come out then bunch up the pack again. any way thats all I had to ask. Ok some information on safety/pace car. For most circuits (road and city tracks) we will have Code60 local yellow and for ovals we will basically Code60 the whole track for couple laps and aim to "reset" or recollect the field behind leader. Indycar does single-file restarts so this is what we will do for all classes on ovals.

From what i've read, it's more like how the WEC and various other series use slow zones for a section of track as opposed to the whole circuit.

Well that's a bummer. I was hoping for a full course yellow opportunity to bunch up the field again.

Probably (And hopefully) for Project CARS 3. They'll have a great base in many areas in Project CARS 2 from what i've seen to improve various areas and delve into others much more like the Safety Cars etc.

Bunching the field up with a safety car would be great , it would help give you some hope if you make a mistake that you have a chance to catch back up especially if you are matching the ai to within a tenth of a second or so .

I want to see the system as is first and then see what changes need to be made to make it better. One of the things I love about Pcars 1 is how much racing you get to do at full speed in a race. Bunching the field back up is great for immersion and also for that vital 2nd and 3rd chance at a restart for position. The problem is when you get a race full of restarts. On our old NASCAR games you would do 20 lap races and only get 2 laps of racing because there would be a yellow flag on every lap of the race. Of course this depends a lot on the skill level of the group that is racing but sometimes skill level didn't matter with a group of aggressive drivers.

SMS usually puts a lot of thought in how they implement things into it's game so let's see how this system works before we ask for a new system. For the record I would love a system that bunches the field back up but I rather have a system that works for the community as a whole.

There's been so much talk before about how truly complicated it can be to implement a safety car system with so many disciplines and what not, and making sure the ai don't pass the wrong car or pass the safety car etc..

What do you mean there is not going to be 4d smellovision in PC2? :rolleyes:.

And.. there will be a aleatory AI cars crashing or with damage during races? That comes to a local yellow or full course yellow in ovals?

One issue that i see in Pcars1 is that you do a 4 hours race, with 30 AI cars, and they complete the full race without any problem or any crash or nothing...

Yeah. When the game gets that good that's when you will have to choose between the red pill and the blue pill to stop playing it and you will need Neo to pull that big cable out of the back of your head.
