Hi all,

As the title suggests I have an I5 4690K (overclocked to 4.2GHZ) and a GTX 980 TI (Palit) and am hoping this will be good enough to run Project Cars 2 in VR.

Anyone get any idea if this will run it?

Also if I'm limited will it be my CPU or GPU that causes the bottleneck, the best CPU I can fit into my current motherboard is an i7-4790K (225) the GPU will cost a lot more to upgrade.....

Thanks,

I run an i5 6600k and a 980Ti, both stock, and VR performance in pCARS if fine. I did a thunderstorm race with 20 opponents at Zolder in Aerial Atoms the other night and it ran just fine in medium settings, which is really all you need in VR.

I'm not sure how your CPU compares to mine but pCARS 2 has apparently much better optimisation than pCARS so I'm expecting similar, if not better, performance from pCARS 2.

Hope that helps.

BTW, sim racing in VR is incredible. A real game-changer.

Thanks Mascot, that's what I was hoping for!

I've had the CV1 for a while and it's stunning, in VR the sense of scale and immersion is hard to describe, think back 3-4 years and what we get to play with now would have been unimaginable.
I always felt the game could have been slightly better optimised, fingers crossed the project cars 2.

So how does pCARS run in VR with your current hardware?

It runs ok, although trying to dial the settings in is a never ending task, I'm more of a hot lapper so that helps.
